The Museum of the Workers' Revolutionary Movement of South Bohemia České Budějovice in the Context of Workers' Museums

The bachelor thesis focuses on the Museum of the Workers' Revolutionary Movement of South Bohemia (MDRH) in České Budějovice, which was founded on the initiative of a meeting of pre-war communists and representatives of committees and disappeared as a result of changes in the socio-political situation in 1989. The thesis examines the Museum in the context of the cultural policy of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia (CPC) and socialist museology, with an emphasis on the development of party museums in Czechoslovakia and their functions under the regime. In this thesis I work with the concept of memory and its various forms, including the politics of memory in socialist Czechoslovakia. The thesis thus contributes to an understanding of the functioning of museums in the totalitarian regime and their role in ideological propaganda and the construction of memory.

The history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou in the first half of the 20th century

This diploma thesis deals with the history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou, a small town situated in the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands ten kilometres from the town of Třebíč. The focus is on the first half of the 20th century, which brought significant events in this village. The thesis itself deals with the history of Rokytnice nad Rokytnou from many points of view. The demographic development and development of the municipality, the functioning of local self-government, the activities of emerging associations and the operation of two age-old institutions, namely the school and the parish, are examined. There is also an insight into everyday life in the local village. The destinies of many Rokytnice families were also influenced by war conflicts and two totalitarian regimes. Rokytnice is largely affected by events from the early 50's in the Třebíč region. In connection with the so-called Babice case, the priest Jan Bula and the twenty years old Drahoslav Němec were executed, and nine of Rokytnice citizens and one native were also sent to prison. The diploma thesis also deals with the impact of the mentioned events on local citizens. Nuns as caretakers? A look into nuns's activities in selected hospitals of the Czechoslovak Republic between 1948 and 1960

(in english) The subject of this thesis are three female monastic communities and their activities in selected hospitals of socialist Czechoslovakia between the years 1948-1960. The aim is to examine the overall policy of the communist authorities towards sisters in the specific environment of hospitals and the stance of local authorities, i.e. the everyday practise in healthcare. Emphasis is placed on the nuns themselves, their professional relationships with doctors and civil nurses and their actions on the local level. The thesis also analyses church practise in hospitals, interventions of the state-appointed church secretaries and partly even their oversight of activity of the Catholic church in individual districts. Last but not least, large effort was expanded to reconstruct the sisters' own perception of post-1948 persecutions and interventions in medical care, not just in relation to the strategies, which they have chosen to cope with the adverse conditions within their communities, but also their mostly disapproving attitudes towards the interventions of the communist regime against their presence in hospitals.

Evaluation of the real condition of the existing building from the structural point of view

This bachelor’s thesis evaluates the real condition of an existing building from a structural perspective. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the current state of the building, identify potential problems, and propose appropriate solutions for its repair and improvement. The work focuses on a detailed diagnosis of the building, including the examination of materials used, construction techniques, and existing damages. Based on the collected data, recommendations are formulated for further steps to ensure the long-term durability and safety of the building.

Response to the threat of demolition of the village: Horní Jiřetín and Nové Heřminovy

The thesis deals with the reaction of the residents of municipalities threatened with demolition in connection with the threat model presented by Dennis Smith. Two municipalities were selected for research - Horní Jiřetín and Nové Heřminovy. In Horní Jiřetín, there is discussion of the demolition of the municipality in connection with the expansion of brown coal mining and, above all, the progress of mining at the quarry of the Czechoslovak Army. It is planned to build a dam in Nové Heřminy, which should prevent floods in the region in the future and at the same time become a water reservoir for the dry season. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the threat model presented in 2018 by Dennis Smith in his book Civilized Rebels: An Inside Story of the West's Retreat from Global Power. In this part of the thesis, this model is described and put into the context of sociological theories of conflict. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the analysis of qualitative research, which was conducted in both municipalities using interviews with their residents. As part of the analysis, the residents' reactions were described in terms of strategies for coping with the situation and fears for the future. Proposal of a Business Strategy for a Real Estate Agency

This thesis, entitled "Proposal for a real estate agency business strategy", deals with the theory and practice of strategic management. The theoretical part deals with the establishment of an SME, a successful business plan assumptions and modern management methods. This part describes the process of implementing a strategic analysis of business which introduces the optimal strategy. The practical part is analyzing specific newly formed company, which is a comprehensive strategic analysis conducted both his surroundings, and the government's socio-economic environment, including Porter's competitive forces model, both strategic analysis is also subject to internal company environment. Based on the lessons learned is a SWOT analysis provided. The main contribution of my work is a comprehensive proposal of the optimal strategy for the company in the future. The conclusion evaluates the effect of foundation of the business.

Gallery of architecture design and modern art. Gallery is situated on the ring, corner of Koliště and Milady Horákové streets. The main function of the building is gallery with the supplementary service. Design shop, art library, workshop room and multipurpose auditorium on the ground floor. Its shape responds to the surrounding buildings and complete the urban structure.

Evaluation failures of masonry buildings

This bachelor’s thesis deals with an evaluation of defects of masonry buildings. The theoretical part gives a sorting of defects of masonry buildings according to various criteria including types of cracks, defects of brick walls and columns and systems of cracks in masonry buildings with their causes. The pictures with examples of the defects are enclosed. The practical part gives the documentation of a typical failure. This documentation is about uneven subsiding of two different parts of the church of St. James in Brno. The experimental part describes the failure in building „C“ which is the part of the area of Masaryk university, Faculty of Arts. This experimental part is based on the measuring of the deformations. The results of the measuring and photos are included.

Evaluation of the construction and technical condition of the fire station building

This thesis covers evaluation of the construction and technical condition of the fire station building situated in Podolí. Reason of the evaluation is the aim of renovation and extension of fire station building. The theoretical part of thesis contains an introduction to the issue of fire stationa and volunteer firefighters. In the practical part there is the evaluation od the object, the results of the inspection ant at the end the sumarized conclusions of the evaluation of the object.
