Evaluation of tooth preparation using Er: YAG laser in comparison with other preparation methods
Bučková, Michaela ; Dostálová, Taťjana (advisor) ; Racek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mazánek, Jiří (referee) ; Smrčka, Pavel (referee)
Er: YAG laser is a new method of preparation that promises gentler and more accurate dental treatment. Its specific characteristics is large absorption of the beam in the water and a small absorption in the tissue without the thermal effect. Therefore the treatment is safer and effectiver. The research has the aim in its theoretical - cognitive part to assess its advantages in comparison with treaditional treatment method - drill. As an essential element will be evaluation of caries lesion in vitro and in vivo. The size of the cavity will be judged on, the shape of developing a smear layer and retention surface in relation to the filling and the . The extracted teeth will be scanned in electronic microscope to assess the formation of contact and non-contact preparation, focusing on the shape and size of the prepared lesion in relation to modern filling materials - low viscosity composites. Extensive research supported by the Ministry of Health (IGA : 9991-4 and 13351-4) that focuses on the the use of various therapeutic methods in the treatment of special needs patients. Dental treatment of a special needs patients is expensive and time-consuming than conventional dental treatment. Therefore, clinical application of theoretical cognitive part will create a electronical support system for the...
Biomechanical chracteristics of nonstationary respiration as possible identificator of tiredeness under hypokinetic loading
Lopotová, Martina ; Šorfová, Monika (advisor) ; Eck, Vladimír (referee) ; Smrčka, Pavel (referee)
The general topic of this work is to reveal the potential relationship between tiredness cause by hypokinetic monotonous loading and breathing. The aim was to determine if there are suitable respiratory parameters that would indicate this tirednes and, if so, then verify their validity for predicting the tiredness phenomena accompanying huge range of everyday human activities. The performed experiment was attended by five volunteers who absolved measurements of electrical activity of brain, of breathing and of chest volume changes. The course of the experiment and the behaviour of probands were recorded by a camera. In the first part of each maesuremnt, a specified monotonous task (Task Tracking) was performed. The probands have had to follow the target moving with pseudocasual direction and speed by the cursor on the monitor. This task currently reflected the level of reliability and quality of the performed aktivity. In the second part of measurement, the probands had just to relax and watch a movie. Both parts were measured in two conditions - alert and tired (after 24 hours of sleep deprivation) proband. The data were compared with each other and evaluated. The measurements and the results showed that the rate of the tiredness can be fairly reliably assessed by monitoring of the volume...

Application of automatic classification methods for driver fatigue monitoring
Cimbálník, Jan ; Koza, Zdeněk (referee) ; Smrčka, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this thesis was to process data from the project "Wakeful car, sleeping driver," which were acquired during the period of 2000-2002. Furthermore, to obtain attributes from the data which would be appropriate for determination whether the driver is awake or tired. Moreover to evaluate the relevance of the attributes and to use them for automatic fatigue and alertness classification in drivers. The theoretical part describes fatigue as a physiological phenomenon and discusses the current state of research of the issue. The practical part then describes the experiment in which the data was obtained. This is followed by the description of the methodology of this study where signals of elektrooculography and the hall probe, which represented the steering wheel angle, were pre-processed in Matlab. Subsequently, the attributes were calculated from the individual signals and exported to MS Excel, where they were processed into the form of graphs and statistically evaluated. After the removal of irrelevant attributes automatic classification methods were used for discrimination between alertness and fatigue.
Ekonomický význam wellness turismu se zaměřením na lázeňství v České Republice
Smrčka, Pavel ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor)
This master thesis aims to provide a complex up-to-date overview of the spa industry in the Czech Republic and to analyze the position of Spa Luhačovice. Having shown the growing global importance of wellness tourism, the focus moves onto the spa industry which plays a major role in wellness. Nevertheless, the medical significance of spas can't be overlooked, especially in the Czech Republic where spas are known for the quality of medical care. While statistical reports from the Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic and from the Czech Statistical Office are being examined and analyzed in the country's perspective, Global Wellness Institute provides the majority of the global wellness and spa data. The thesis shows the current state of the industry in the country with its strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, the practical part is focused on Spa Luhačovice, the biggest spa in Moravia region. Various information and data are compared to overall development of the spa industry in the country. Finally, an interview with the spa representative is conducted to further clarify the findings of this thesis.
Significance of tourism for economy of China and India
Smrčka, Pavel ; Kašpar, Václav (advisor) ; Vošta, Milan (referee)
The goal of this paper is to analyze tourism in China and India. The paper is divided into five chapters. The first part describes natural conditions in both countries, their social-economic characteristics and culture-historical conditions. Second section is already focused on tourism and its position in a world's economy. Following chapters are divided on inbound, outbound and domestic tourism in both countries. This chapter also studies the impact of tourism on employment or GDP. Future development of tourism in these countries is defined in the last chapter.
Analysis of travel agency branches effectiveness with DEA models
Smrčka, Pavel ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
In today's fiercely competitive environment, not only in the tourism sector, we see a rise in the need to identify the weak and strong sides of the performance of the entire branch network of a travel agency, as well as of its components, the particular branches. This problem can be approached using the process of benchmarking. This method is currently widely used to compare the similarly behaving systems and processes in all areas of human activity. Data envelopment analysis models can be used as one of the methods of benchmarking. This thesis deals first with the theoretical description of the basic models of data envelopment analysis. It then moves on to concentrate on the description of the network-based models, which are then used in the practical part of the thesis. In this last part, it compares selected travel agency branches and identifies the deficiencies in particular areas of their performance.
Ohodnocení chyby objemové rekonstrukce biologických vzorků z konfokálních obrazů
Čapek, Martin ; Janáček, Jiří ; Kubínová, Lucie ; Smrčka, P. ; Hána, K.
We performed both volume reconstructions using images captured by the USB microscope and images captured by the confocal microscope. We manually marked important corresponding structures in both reconstructed data sets, and computed distances between corresponding structures, assuming that structures in the reconstruction from USB microscope data are without deformations. According to our expectations, the main errors of high-resolution volume reconstruction (from confocal data) are in the direction of physical cutting (vary in units of millimeters) and in the direction perpendicular to cutting due to off-cut (vary in tenths of millimeters)
Přístupy k visualizaci obrazů 3D struktur získaných konfokálním mikroskopem
Čapek, Martin ; Janáček, Jiří ; Kubínová, Lucie ; Hána, K. ; Smrčka, P.
Laser scanning confocal microscopes are capable to focus a laser beam into a layer of an investigated biological specimen, and by the gradual scanning of this layer they acquire an optical section. By consecutive scanning of all preset layers of the specimen we obtain a stack of optical sections, i.e. a 3D digital representation of the specimen. In the presented study we focus on volume reconstruction of large biological tissues, i.e. tissues greater than field of view and/or thicker than maximal depth of scanning of a confocal microscope. As a result of volume reconstruction we obtain a high resolution 3D image of the biological specimen. 3D visualization is offered either by our Rapid3D software package suited for three-dimensional reconstruction and visualization of biomedical images, or Ellipse modular software package devoted to biological image processing (created by ViDiTo company, Slovakia)
