Sadílková, Helena ; Červenka, Jan (advisor) ; Vaněk, Miroslav (referee) ; Pavelčíková, Nina (referee)
This thesis is concentrated on the topic of the post-war migration of Roms from Slovakia to the Czech Lands as the crucial process in the post-war history of Roms on the territory of former Czechoslovakia which had its effects not only on individual groups of Roms living in Slovakia and migrating to the Czech Lands, but also on the next developments in the relations of the Czech majority society towards the Roms and changes in the approach to them on the side of central state institutions. The thesis offers a presentation of a complex historic case study of post-war migration of a particular local group of Roms from south- eastern Slovakia to the city of Brno (Moravia), based on a synthetic research method combining both oral history and written sources of mostly regional provenience. The author has applied the method in two different contexts: while reconstructing the developments in the situation of the group of Roms and their relations with the majority society in Slovakia during 1920' to 1970's, and while mapping the post-war migration of part of these people in relation to two localities in the Czech Lands, with one representing a transit locality of their early post-war migration and the other their final destination where this group of Roms lives still today. The author places the case study...

Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav informačních studií a knihovnictví. Vedoucí disertační práce doc. RNDr. Jiří Souček, DrSc. Abstrakt (CZ) Tato disertační práce předkládá širokou základnu oborové terminologie, pomocí které jsou do hloubky analyzovány procesy digitalizace a kontroly kvality. Hlavní důraz je kladen na kontrolu kvality digitalizace a volbu vhodného grafického formátu pro zpřístupnění, dlouhodobé uchování, renderování a formátové migrace. Je také představena analýza vybraných digitalizačních center. Na základě výsledků výzkumu byla vytvořena ověřující aplikace DIFFER (Determinator of Image File Format propERties), na jejímž základě vzniká aplikace The NDK Data Image Validator - DIFFER. Aplikace implementuje nové postupy a technologie k celkovému urychlení procesů zpracování a kontroly kvality. Cílem bylo vyvinout aplikaci pro vymezenou množinu relevantních grafických formátů, u kterých bude prováděna identifikace, charakterizace, validace a matematicko-vizuální porovnání integrovatelné do provozního workflow zpracování a dlouhodobého uložení digitálních reprezentací. Tato aplikace je vybavena...

This work considers the changing attitudes of Czech society and its political élite towards minorities in the restored nation-state of Czechoslovakia after the Second World War and in the period of the coming to power of the Czechoslovak Communist Party and the stabilization of its dictatorship. To this end, it examines three very heterogeneous minority groups: the ethnic Germans remaining after the expulsions, the Gypsies (Roma), and the Volhynian Czechs. The Czech borderlands (former Sudetenland) were a distinctive space; the processes that took place there are analysed in detail in this work. The discourses and the strategies of legitimation, as well as conflicts and negotiations at the local level, are considered in particular. The aim of the work is to reveal the ideological starting points that the key political actors turned into concrete political aims and the influence that they had on specific events in the border areas, and also the influence that the thinking and notions of local actors had on the transformation of policy and even ideology. Consequently, the work presents a vivid picture of the often ambiguous attitudes amongst the individual components of the Party and State apparat (the senior leadership of the Communist Party, the individual ministries, and the regional and local...
