Attachment of children in temporary foster care
Králová, Anna ; Urban, Kamila (advisor) ; Širancová, Katarína (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the attachment of children placed in temporary foster care up to 2 years of age. PPPD is a specific form of foster care that has been embedded in our social system for a relatively short period of time, and its impact on attachment has not been studied in the Czech Republic. There is a lack of data on the influence of some factors that may play a role in the attachment formation process in this care (length of care, age of the foster parent, stress of the foster parent, age of the child at placement, risk score of the child). This research aims to help clarify the influence of these factors on attachment development in PPPD. The research is designed as a prospective longitudinal within-subjects design with analyses using the McNemar Bowker test of symmetry and multinomial hierarchical logistic regression. The thesis will use, among others, the laboratory Strange Situation Procedure and the Experiences in Close Relationships - Revised scale. We expect that greater length of PPPD, higher age of placement, higher foster parent stress, higher foster parent age, and higher child risk scores will predict insecure forms of attachment. The resulting findings may contribute to improved and research-based practice in implementing this form of care, for example in the areas of...
The Effect of the Voting Advice Application on Decision-Making in the 2023 Presidential Election in the Czech Republic
Králová, Anna ; Vinopal, Jiří (advisor) ; Linek, Lukáš (referee)
There are many ways in which we obtain the information on which we make decisions, and this is true for everyday decisions as well as electoral ones. This paper directly addresses the topic of voting advice applications (VAA), specifically the election calculator, in the context of the third direct election of the President of the Czech Republic in 2023. The aim was to uncover what effect the election calculator has on voting decisions in this particular election. The research involved an experiment supplemented by pretest and posttest questionnaires with 105 participants. Based on the research results, I was unsuccessful in confirming the research hypothesis about the "volební kalkulačka" effect. Thus, I have not been able to show that the participants would change or shape their voting decisions following the resulting recommendation of the "volební kalkualčka". However, despite these findings, and based on the other findings of the thesis, I can summarise that research participants perceived the VAA as a rather beneficial, helpful way of obtaining information during the pre-election period. Key words voting advice application, voter decision-making, presidential election, experiment
Atherosclerosis risk factors and macrophage polarization in adipose tissue
Králová, Anna ; Poledne, Rudolf (advisor) ; Vrablík, Michal (referee) ; Zicha, Josef (referee)
Atherosclerosis is a major cause of cardiovascular disease, and the pro-inflammatory state stimulates the process of atherogenesis. Since the 1990s, it has become clear that adipose tissue has not only an endocrine function, but it is also a very important immune organ due to the presence of various immunocytes with high cytokine secretion. Local resident macrophages represent a major component in the development of this inflammation. Due to our inclusion in the unique transplantation program at IKEM, which ensured availability of peroperatively harvested adipose tissue and its subsequent and immediate analysis, we were able to characterize the different subpopulations of monocytes/macrophages and classify macrophages into pro- and anti-inflammatory populations based on the differential expression of surface markers. From subcutaneous (SCAT), perivascular (PVAT), and visceral (VAT) adipose tissue samples from healthy living kidney donors (LKD), we analyzed the macrophage phenotype after obtaining the stromal fraction by flow cytometry. At the beginning of the experiments, we chose the calprotectin molecule as a proinflammatory marker. However, in subsequent experiments described herein, we chose a different route and selected the CD16 receptor to determine the proinflammatory phenotype. This...
Sequence of tenses in Italian and its possible translations into Czech
Králová, Anna ; Obstová, Zora (advisor) ; Ebrová, Agáta (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the sequence of tenses in Italian and its translation into Czech. The sequence of tenses in Italian represents a means of expressing temporal relations between sentences in a complex sentence. Since the sequence of tenses represents a complex and essential phenomenon of Italian grammar, which the Czech language does not possess, this thesis aims to outline an overview of the ways in which the Czech language copes with this difference when translating from Italian. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first part containing a theoretical introduction to the sequence of tenses phenomenon in Italian, and a theoretical overview of the morphological and lexical means used to translate temporal relations into Czech. The second part of the thesis presents the procedure and subsequent summary of the practical analysis results of selected translations of Italian sentences from the InterCorp corpus. The sentences selected for analysis were those that contained one of two chosen Italian verbs (pensare, credere) in indicative, one of the Italian past tenses (passato prossimo, passato remoto, imperfetto, trapassato prossimo) in the main clause that introduces a dependent clause connected with the Italian conjunction che as the linking expression between the...
Prognostic impact of nutritional status of patients with head and neck cancer on the efficacy of concomitant radio(chemo)therapy: A prospective clinical trial.
Králová, Anna ; Dršata, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Vítek, Pavel (referee)
The study is designed as a prospective clinical trial. Patients with histologically proven head and neck cancer treated by curative radiotherapy were included. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between pretreatment or posttreatment nutritional status and overall surival or locoregional / distant control. Pretreatment and posttreatment nutritional status was evaluated by body weight, body mass index, total serum protein, albumin, prealbumin, transferin and cholinesterase. Univariete and multivariete regression analyses were applied for prognostic factors associated with survival or tumor control. In this study we demonstrated, that poorer nutritional status prior curative radiotherapy, has a negative impact on subsequent control of cancer. The most sensitive parameter was serum cholinesterase. Serum cholinesterase  108 kat/l was the independent negative prognostic factor for both locoregional and distant tumor control. Results of this study indicate the need for intensive nutritional support before starting of curative treatment.
Incidence and Analysis of Drug-Related Problems in A Long-Term Care Facility
Králová, Anna ; Doseděl, Martin (advisor) ; Malý, Josef (referee)
Incidence and Analysis of Drug-Related Problems in A Long-Term Care Facility Author: Mgr. Anna Králová Thesis Supervisor: PharmDr. Martin Doseděl, Ph.D Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy BACKGROUND A drug-related problem (DRP) is an event or circumstance involving drug therapy that actually or potentially interferes with desired health outcomes. AIM The aim of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the incidence of drug-related problems in a long-term care facility. METHODS This research was conducted in the long-term care facility of the Military University Hospital in Prague between March and August 2014. Data were gathered from medical records and healthcare workers. In particular, the patient case history, laboratory and physical parameters, and drug therapy data were collected. The modified PCNE-DRP Classification (Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe), version 5.01, was used to classify the detected DRPs. Recommendations to eliminate DRPs have been suggested by a pharmacist and presented orally during ward rounds. The results of these recommendations have then been recorded. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate research results. RESULTS The medical records of 75 patients with an average age of 82.76 were...
