Strong and weak points of foster care in the Czech Republic from the point of view of child protection social workers

The presented bachelor thesis focuses on describing the strengths and weaknesses of selected systemic aspects of foster care in the Czech Republic, as identified by child protection social workers specializing in foster care field within their own practice at departments of social and legal protection of children at municipalities with extended competence. This bachelor thesis can be divided into a conceptual part (chapters 2-4) and an empirical part (chapter 5). The second chapter introduces the reader to general structure of the substitute care system in the Czech Republic. This chapter also highlights some strong and weak points of the current configuration of this system, with the aim of highlighting the importance of role and benefits of substitute family care system, particularly against the background of the interpretation of secondary statistical and research data. The third and fourth chapter of this thesis discuss seven selected aspects of foster care system in the Czech Republic which are further elaborated through qualitative research. The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a family house with an office. The family house is divided into two residential units. In the 1st floor, the housing unit is adapted for a young family and in the 1st floor for parents. Part of the establishment is designed according to the requirements of the investor - dentist, for the dental office. The proposed building is located in a quiet part of the town of Velké Poříčí. The surrounding area consists of family houses with a maximum of 2 floors.

The role of a social worker in forming the identity of child in foster family.

(in English) This master's thesis deals with the identity of a child, focusing on its development, possible disorders and difficulties among children in foster care, specifically in foster families, in its theoretical part. The thesis also provides insight into the role of accompanying workers and the possibilities of support they can offer to families in this field. The evaluation is based on the results of a qualitative research conducted through semi-structured interviews with social workers from child protection services and accompanying organizations. Integrated rescue system building in Horice

The subject of the thesis is the development of project documentation at the construction stage. This is a new construction of a two-story fire station with an adjacent sports field, a training fire tower, an inner courtyard, a parking area, all connections, paved areas, new fencing and modification of the connection to the existing road. The building is for fireman in Horice and it is in the category of fire station P1.

Contact between a child and a father in prison.

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of the contact of convicted fathers with the child during their stay in prison, and its aim is to describe the meaning and importance of fatherhood, the effect of the father's imprisonment on the child and the family, and what are the possibilities and obstacles to contact with the imprisoned father. This overview study is mainly based on foreign sources. The study is thematically divided into four main chapters. The first chapter describes the methodology of the overview study, including the sources used. The second chapter defines important terms used for the study (e.g. father, paternity, etc.) and describes the importance of the father in the child's life. The third chapter is dedicated to the imprisonment of the father, the effect of this event on the family situation and on the life of the child. The last chapter describes the importance of contact with the imprisoned father, the possibilities and obstacles that prevent contact. The goal of the work was fulfilled by processing an overview study using content analysis.

Annotation/Abstract The bachelor thesis deals with methods of ensuring a sense of security when communicating with children with CAN syndrome. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part, which provides a general view of the issue of CAN syndrome, and which also focuses on the functioning of social services in the Czech Republic and communication with children with CAN syndrome. The aim of the second part, practical, is to map what methods to ensure safety when talking to children with CAN syndrome used by social workers. Approach of Child Protection Services to Addressing Parental Conflicts

Child protection is one of the most demanding fields of social protection and requires comprehensive solutions which have a major impact on the lives of children and their families. It also includes the agenda of parental conflicts and related child custody proceedings. The thesis deals with the practice of child protection social workers at the municipal authorities with extended powers in the Czech Republic in solving parental disputes. The theoretical part introduces legal, educational and competence framework of child protection and sets it into the context of specific aspects and pitfalls associated with the profession and approach of child protection social workers to solving parental conflicts. It also provides recommendations on how to solve parental conflicts followed by a case study of child protection department at the Prague 8 Municipality District Authority. It identifies attributes of best practice that contribute to the best interests of the child, including participation of families, multidisciplinary cooperation, transparency of processes and neutrality, professionalism and reflexivity of child protection social workers.
