Photovoltaic systems in the cities
Dobiáš, Pavel ; Procházka, Zdeněk (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis' main goal is to introduce a potential reader with the photovoltaic system questions and its utilization in many applications. In the leading chapter the thesis deals with the potential of the energy which is radiated from the Sun towards the Earth. It tries to analyze the common problems of using this energy. The next part deals with simple semiconductor operating principles and explain the principles of photovoltaic cell functions. The upcoming part deals with the construction and basic types of photovoltaic cells and show the possible ways in their development. In the next part there are analyzed many types of photovoltaic systems and their application in praxis. In the next part the reader is introduced with the meaning of photovoltaic as a renewable source and with its support in the European Union and Czech Republic. The last part deals with design of four devices which uses photovoltaic system as a power source and which can be used in the city agglomeration environment.
Demonstration stand for industrial automation elements
Dobiáš, Pavel ; Vaněk, Jaromír (referee) ; Dohnal, Petr (advisor)
The first part is devoted to familiarization with intelligent motor protection. On the device, the universal motor controller UMC100-FBP from ABB Ltd., explains the features and capabilities of these devices. Because the work is focused on creating a utility that will be used to communicate with a remote laboratory stand, in the second part briefly describes some of the communication protocols and network. The next section describes the implementation of remote communication and creation utility. To verify the accuracy of the displayed data as to the actual UMC100-FBP and the utility was performing a simple measurement. The results are discussed in the penultimate chapter. In the last part of the thesis describes a program created by the operating instructions of the program.
Influece of secondary apparatuses on assembly box heating
Dobiáš, Pavel ; Ovsík, Jiří (referee) ; Bušov, Bohuslav (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the temperature-rise of selected parts of the low-voltage switchgear. The theoretical part describes the physical principles and the basic mechanisms of heat transfer. The next part describes the possible effect of elevated temperature on the device inside the switchgear. The master's thesis is awarded by ABB Ltd., so another part is dedicated to MNS switchgear. The following part describes the permitted limit of temperature-rise of switchgear in accordance with IEC 61439-1. In the practical part is a calculation temperature-rise of selected part of switchgear based on IEC 60890. Model in SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation was created for the same part of the switchgear and thermal analysis was performed. The values of allowable temperature rise of individual parts are compared with the results obtained by calculations and simulations. In the last part is verified the possibility of calculating the temperature-rise in the EPLAN software.
Dissolved Air Flotation – From Pilot Plant to Full Scale Implementation
Dobiáš, Pavel ; Hlaváč, Jaroslav (referee) ; Janda,, Václav (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (referee) ; Dolejš, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with the use of dissolved air flotation (DAF) in water treatment technology in the Czech Republic. It summarizes the knowledge gained at pilot plant studies as well as the experience with full-scale flotation units which have been built in potable water treatment plants in the Czech Republic in years 2006-2018. This thesis provides a broad background of experimental studies of a modern separation process, which does have great advantages in the removal of natural organic matter and microorganisms from water in the drinking water treatment industry. In this thesis, there are presented some examples of the excellent efficiency of the microorganisms removal, both under the experimental conditions as well as water treatment plants, which were improved by DAF units installation in full scale. In addition to the high separation efficiency, it is shown, how DAF units could influence the subsequent separation steps as for example filtration through the granular media. The negative influence of the pre-ozonization on the DAF separation efficiency in Hradec Králové WTP is demonstrated too. The results of the pilot experiments support the idea, that the key condition for high removal efficiency is the optimal coagulation process chemistry. Design of pilot experiments was based on the factorial planning theory and some results are discussed in this thesis. The very big portion of the pilot experiments was made for estimating of the full-scale DAF design parameters before the water treatment plants reconstruction phase

Student's Ideas about Energy
Dobias, Pavel ; Mandíková, Dana (advisor) ; Žák, Vojtěch (referee)
The goal of my thesis has been to find about high school students' intuitive conceptions of energy. I followed the previous studies made in the energy field and in terms of them my own research was carried out in the form of a test. The test contained 13 questions and 152 freshmen from six classes and 112 secondary school leavers from five classes participated in this. In questions I was concerned with the most frequent misconceptions. I compiled the results for each task into tables and illustrated in graphs as well. I compared the first and fourth classes' results to find out how effective schools were in replacing misconceptions with the correct knowledge. I was interested as well if there is some relationship between misconceptions and sex or marks of the interviewees. Next I compared classes to each other. At the end I mentioned the risk of neglected misconceptions in studying physics.
