The principal objective of this doctoral thesis is to investigate personality domains and self-construal in relation to a sociocultural context. To date, cross-cultural research reveals that self-concepts vary across cultures (Hardin et al., 2004; Keller et al., 2004; Markus & Kitayama, 1991; Vignoles et al., 2016). A growing body of evidence supports the multifactorial sources of psychological and sociocultural variability, including proximal and distal factors and their interplay. The intersection of individualism-collectivism, personality and self has emerged as an important nexus of this variation. The independent self is characterized by the notion of individuality and uniqueness; on the other hand, the interdependent self refers to the identity of connectedness with others (Singelis, 1994). Relational interdependence denotes a propensity to consider oneself in terms of close relationships (Cross et al., 2000). Humor as a protective factor in psychotherapy

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of humor as a protective psychotherapeutic tool. Its theoretical part brings a review of general information about humor in context of psychotherapy and its connections. First of all it focuses on definiton, process and forms of therapeutic humor. It mentions the conection between humor and coping strategies, stres, resilience, self-efficacy and regulation of emotions. The work also refers to humor from the view of psychotherapy - more specifically, the thesis focuses on humor, as one of the components supporting successful communication and, lastly, there is mentioned the possibilities to use humor as a coping mechanism agains burn-out syndrome by psychotherapist. The practical part offer the proposal about the effects of humor skills and sense of humor psychotherapist on well-being and as a protective factor agains burn-out syndrom.

Life meaningfulness and acceptance of disability among people with visual impairment.

The thesis deals with meaningfulness of life and acceptance of an affliction by people with visual disability. The work has been divided into two parts. In the review section, the author deals with a psychological approach to meaningfulness of life, with an issue of acceptance of visual impairment, and with specifics of meaningfulness of life over the course of a lifetime. The aim of the empirical part has been to test hypotheses regarding relationship between the meaningfulness of life and the acceptance of vision impairment. Key concepts have been operationalized by scores according to both inventories; the Meaningfulness of Life Scale (MLC) (Halama, 2002, 2009), and the Acceptance of Disability Scale - Revised (ADS-R) (Linkowski, Groomes, 2007). Data obtained from a sample of persons with visual disability (N = 84) has been used to test the hypotheses. For the first time a Czech translation of the ADS-R inventory has been put to practice and the author suggests a further use of the inventory titled Škála akceptace disability. In the empirical part of the study, the author also deals with possibilities of online administration of psychological test methods for people with a visual disability. Attitudes towards euthanasia

Euthanasia and assisted dying in general are current social issues. In the literary review, this thesis summarizes the arguments for and against assisted dying and socio-demographic, personality and situational factors influencing people's attitudes to this topic. As a part of the research project, it outlines a study that aims to deepen understanding of the determinants of acceptance or non-acceptance of euthanasia and its evaluation. Recent changes in emancipation of young adults from family

This bachelor thesis focuses on a summary of the latest knowledge of the timing of emancipation of young adults, their psychological and physical separation, from their parents and their parents' household. The focus of this work on young adulthood is predominantly from Western point of society, but Japan and India are also mentioned, as the gradually delay of the departure of young adults from their parents seems to be a global phenomenon with certain specific cultural and economic characteristics. Similarly, adulthood, characterized by autonomy, responsibility, and the acquisition of specific roles, is postponed to an higher age,. Arnett (2006) suggests to name the period between adolescence and adulthood as emerging adulthood. However, some are doubtful about its legitimate existence (Bynner, 2005), as it occurs mainly for those ones, who can afford to delay adulthood. The design of a research project is a longitudinal research focusing on the occurrence of the emerging adulthood in young Slovaks, the perceived parental behavior and the type of their household. The aim of the thesis entitled Cultural and cross-cultural psychology is to introduce the fields of cultural psychology and cross-cultural psychology in the Czech Republic. The thesis is a theoretical and literature review. The thesis mainly focuses on the study of relationship between culture and mental life of man. The author also emphasizes the challenges and limits of studies of human psyche in a cross-cultural perspective. Attention is paid to the four thematic areas of psychology: the influence of culture on cognitive processes, individual development in culture, the relationship between personality and culture and psychological aspects of intercultural interaction. Development and establishment of cultural and cross-cultural fields of psychology are presented in a separate section. The aim of the thesis entitled Cross-cultural psychology, culturological contribution to the selected topics, is to present the field of cultural psychology and cross-cultural psychology in the Czech Republic. This thesis focuses on the selected topics from the area of study of cultural psychology and cross-cultural psychology. The thesis is a theoretical and literary overview. Attention is paid to the four thematic areas of psychology: the influence of culture on cognitive processes, individual development in culture, the relationship between personality and culture, and psychological aspects of intercultural interaction. The work focuses on the challenges and limits of studies of the human psyche in a cross-cultural perspective. Cited empirical studies show that cultural context affects many mental functions. From the perspective of culturology as a science, this thesis represents a contribution to the interdisciplinary study of culture at the individual level.

Manual for taking digital photo

In this bachelor thesis, the author deals with issues of creation and taking digital photo. In the theoretical part of the work with the help of specialized literature and other sources are explained principle of creation photos in a digital single lens reflex. There are also described the basic composition rules and exposure parametres, which affect appearance of the final image.
In practical part of the thesis is a selection of basic photographic disciplines. The basic settings of digital single lens reflex for the situation are described here. Also there are other principles for taking this type of photo. These procedures are in each chapter shown on own photographs with description of values exposure parameters with wich they were taken.
