During the time when the Communist Party was the leading political party in the Czechoslovakia, many illicitness had happened, one of them were political trials. People convicted in these trials were innocent and accused of crimes just because the regime wanted to get rid of them as they were in some way "dangerous" for the communist regime. The subject of this bachelor paper is to compare two acts on judicial rehabilitation that should have rehabilitated those people, who were unfairly convicted in the political trials. The first law was issued in the year of 1968, the second thirty-two years later, in 1990. The acts were issued in different political situation. However, there are some similarities between them, as well as evident differences.

Devátá, Markéta ; Míšková, Alena (advisor) ; Kocian, Jiří (referee) ; Franc, Martin (referee)
The Cultural and Science Policy of the Communist Party and the Ideologization of Social Science in Czechoslovakia 1945-1960. Abstract This study deals with the cultural and science policy of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in 1945-1960 from the perspective of meeting the policy's main aim, i.e. a general acceptance of the communist ideology of Marxism-Leninism. The period started with formulating a programme of social and political transformation from the "national and democratic revolution" to a "socialist revolution", followed up by the proclamation of "accomplishing the socialist construction". Having reached a power monopoly, the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia concentrated on a cultural revolution conceived as "a conversion of culture and people's thinking toward the Marxist-Leninist world-view". The communist cultural and science policy is therefore analysed in the context of the Marxist discourse and through the forms of reshaping the social science predestined to spread the Marxist philosophy. More specifically, my research focused on the development of university and college education policy as a part of the communist cultural and science project. In particular, the constitution of political education and teaching Marxism- Leninism at universities is observed as a key instrument of shaping...

The thesis analyzes the development and status of the Olympic Movement in the Visegrad countries and makes the mutual comparison of it in these countries. History of development of modern sport since its inception, including interest in the nascent Olympic Movement in these countries, has similar features. Especially after the onset of communism the Czech and Slovak Republics, Hungary and Poland, went, not only in sport, through similar developments. This area was "united" and its management has pursued state organization, which claimed to control all branches of sport. After the fall of the communist regime awaited new challenges for sport. Sport had to at least partially replace state funding for alternative sources, build it's own structures, set up relationships between subjects of sports scene, establish the place in these relations and structures of the Olympic Committee or influence the legislative framework for their own effect. During the research it became clear that understanding the development of sport and the Olympic Movement after the fall of communism is not possible without a thorough description of the situation in the region after the Second World War and the emergence of communist regimes in the countries of the future Visegrad Four. Therefore, the original intention, working primarily...
