Social Problem - Solving Skills in Children with Conduct Disorders
Chmelová, Markéta ; Goldmann, Petr (advisor) ; Soukupová, Tereza (referee)
The current thesis examines coping strategies in children diagnosed with conduct disorder (CD). Social problem-solving skills are considered to be one of the key social skills. The assumption is that children with CD have worse social problem-solving skills compared to children without diagnosed CD. The aim of the study is not only answering the hypothesis, but also describing component skills and comparing with contemporary doctrins. A group of childrem with diagnosed CD (n=15) and group without diagnosed CD (n=15) is examined by Thematic Apperception Test (Murray,1971). Data were scored by Personal Problem-Solving System (PPSS-R) (Ronan, 2008). Results of the comparison of two groups suggest that children with diagnosed CD have deficits in their social problem-solving skills. Four aspects of social competence were assessed. Children with CD reached worse results in all component scores: the cognitive processing of problem, the emotive processing of problem, the ability to find and propose solutions of the problem and the ability to master effectively social problems. Both groups reached the best results in cognitive processing of the problem. The group of children with CD reached the worse results in emotive processing of the problem. The group of children without CD reached the worse results in proposing...

Tvrdoňová, Anna ; Procházková, Jana (advisor) ; Soukupová, Tereza (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of self-injury of adolescents. Its goal is to analyze the adolescents' view of self-injury, how the youth themselves define self-injury and what they perceive to be self-injurious behavior. The work is divided into two core parts. The first section focuses on the definition of the self-injury and reviews both current Czech and international literature. Particular attention is devoted to the inconsistent terminology, definitions and presentation of the recent classification system of selfinjury. The second part is devoted to the research of explorative character. The data have been collected through a survey using anonymous self report questionnaire from 73 pupils between the ages of 13-15 and they were analysed using categorization and the method of factor and cluster analysis. Factor analysis extracted ten factors which served as the meaningful units and can be interpreted as adolescents' viewpoints of self-injury. Findings suggest the adolescents consider not only direct destruction of one's own body as example self-injury but also behavior that indirectly leads to negative health outcomes (eating disorders, smoking, abuse of alcohol). Interestingly, the youth reported ambivalent viewpoint of self-injury. They reported not only the losses and the possible risks of such...

Soukupová, Tereza ; Weiss, Petr (advisor) ; Šípek, Jiří (referee) ; Zvěřina, Jaroslav (referee)
This dissertation thesis addresses the use of Rorschach Inkblot Method in the psychological assessment of paraphilias. In the theoretical part of the thesis we summarize the findings about paraphilias, describe Exner's Comprehensive System for coding the Rorschach and present published research works with the Rorschach in the filed of sexual deviance. The empirical part contains the description of our reseach project. We looked for rorschach variables that would differ between pedophiles and rapists in the group of 78 men diagnosed with paraphilia. We have found statistically significant differences between the groups of pedophiles and rapists in several variables. These variables are in both groups related to the cluster Selfperception and Interpersonal perception, in the group of rapists also to the cluster Processing and in the group of pedophiles to the cluster Controls. We have also found statistically significant differences between normative data and our research sample almost in all selected variables.
Spirituality and life attitudes of human during the pre finem period
Pavelková, Monika ; Soukupová, Tereza (advisor) ; Hříbková, Lenka (referee)
The aim of the thesis is a close examination of spirituality and view of life among people who find themselves in the pre finem period. Spirituality is understood as a relation to sanctity of either religious or irreligious, intrinsic or extrinsic nature. Spirituality turns out to be of significance as a coping strategy, the means by which people come to terms with their illness and proximity to death. In this sense, we focus on the participants' search for the meaning of life, illness and death during the pre finem period. The basis of this thesis stems partly from the H. G. Koenig and K. L. Pargament's theory of religious coping. The belief in life after death, be it literal or symbolic, is understood as a coping strategy as well, with reference to Terror Management Theory or Meaning Management Theory. To evaluate the attitude towards illness and death we use the concept of five stages of grief developed by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross based on her clinical experience, and the theory of Wong, Reker and Gesser, the authors of Death Attitude Profile Revised questionnaire (DAP-R). Eleven patiens from Dobrý Pastýř in Čerčany and Svatý Štepán in Litoměřice hospices participated in the research in April - October 2012. The data of the study were collected using semi-structured interviews and a further...

In the empirical part of the thesis is processed data collected from 50 probands who underwent testing of the above tests. Data were processed by correlation and factor analysis. Conclusions of statistical processing are further developed in the empirical part. Discussion focuses on the reflection of the individual parts of the research, possibilities for future research and analysis of the limitations of this work Keywords: intelligence, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Raven's Standard Progressive Matrices, Raven's Advanced Progressive Matrices
The diversity of macrozoobenthos in a stream affected by an outfall of a treated wastewater from wastewater treatment plant
SOUKUPOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this work was to evaluate the diversity of macrozoobenthos at Živný stream. This stream flows through the town of Prachatice, where outfall of the town's wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) flown into it. Sampling was carried out in 4 profiles; C, U, E and R, each in five different dates during the year 2015. Saprobic index and Shannon-Wiener diversity index were calculated based on abundance and biomass of macroinvertebrate community. Neither biomass nor abundance did not show any significant differences among sampling profiles. On the contrary the values of saprobic index and diversity index differed significantly among sampling sites (p < 0.05). Highest average value of abundance and biomass of macrozoobenthos was reached above the outfall of WWTP in profile U (2068 ? 1712 ind.m-2), while the lowest average value of abundance was found in profile E under the outfall of WWTP (925 ? 781 ind.m-2). The biomass of macrozoobenthos community was the lowest in the profile R (4.25 g.m-2). The saprobic index ranged from 1.55 to 2.32. These values correspond to betamesosaprobity which reveals that the creek contains moderately to medium organically polluted water. The diversity index was highest in sampling profile C (H' = 2.59), on the contrary in the following profile U, which was placed in the town above the WWTP, the diversity index was lowest (H' = 1.52).

Vegetarian nutrition
SOUKUPOVÁ, Tereza
In my bachelor thesis, I have considered the problems connected to vegetarianism and its impact on human health. I have summed up and described current trends in the field of vegetarianism and opinions thereof, found in the society. The research was conducted in and around České Budějovice. I have also investigated vegetarianism in different countries and described the history of this diet, as well as the changing trends in the popularity of meat in the society. I have assessed the nutritious needs at different stages of life and related these to the vegetarian diet, describing the possible lack of nutrients at each stage and the possibilities to compensate these nutrients. I have dealt with the reasons for people being vegetarians, namely religious, ethical, solidarity, economical and, above all, for health reasons. I have described and analysed the individual components of the human diet and defined the recommended daily doses of each of the components and their presence in daily meals, according to literature. I have placed emphasis on those nutrients that can be mised in a vegetarian diet. For my research, I have used a questionnaire distributed to the inhabitants of České Budějovice and its surroundings. The results were evaluated by using MS Excel. All three hypotheses were verified. The first hypothesis has established that people have little knowledge in the field of the vegetarian diet, despite the sufficient amount of available information. Most respondents could not name any type of vegetarianism. The opinion of people on this diet and its economical burden was verified, as well. For the most part, people believed that a vegetarian diet is economically demanding. It was also shown that vegetarians are plentiful among highly educated people which verified the third hypothesis.
