Clinical Effectiveness of the Schultz Autogenic Training on the Electrical Activity of the Brain
Andová, Veronika ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Title of thesis: Clinical Effectiveness of the Schultz Autogenic Training on the Electrical Activity of the Brain Objectives: The thesis aims to analyze the impact of Schultz autogenic training on brain activity evaluated using EEG Course of action: To obtain the data, an experimental group containing 11 participants aged 20-30, disregarding gender, was created. Participants practiced Schultz autogenic training using the identical audio record once a day during the course of nine weeks. Upon completion of the training, all participants were subjected to one-off measurement by the Nicolet EEG instrument. Brain activity was measured before, during and after the training. Obtained EEG data were processed with NeuroGuide software using coherence analysis and fast Fourier transform. Coherence analysis provided charts mapping the electrical activity of Brodmann areas during the course of all three stages and fast Fourier transform yielded data of performance ratio between theta and alpha frequencies, so called T/A index. Performance ratio of the T/A index was subject to Student's paired t-test in order to draw final conclusion. T/A results show changes in the representation of alpha and theta waves during all measurements. Results: The results of the thesis were used to verify the veracity of stated...

Assessment of enter and control examination is realized with analysis of variance ANOVA. Results: Intervention programme was sufficient for changes in EMG amplitude for two muscle groups in rugby players with SIS. Hypothesis comparing the EMG measure...
Influence of a complex stretching exercise of lower limb on postural stability
Maier, Ludvík ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Vomáčková, Helena (referee)
Title: Influence of a complex stretching exercise of lower limb on postural stability Objectives:: The main objective of this diploma these is to find out, using dynamic computerized posturography, whether the increased mobility of the lower limbs has a positive influence on postural stability. Another partial objective is to determine efficiency of the practised stretching exercises. Methods: This is a pilot study where in research participated five probands whose measurement results were evaluated qualitatively. The aged of probands at the time of the first measurement was from 13 to 18 years. All probands are male volleyball league players and during the last two years occurred to a marked grow by all of them. Given their tall stature, it was expected a decrease in the mobility of the lower limbs and muscle shortening. To the data acquisition was used clinical examination of active range of motion and shortened muscle testing according to Janda. Postural stability was measured using computerized dynamic posturography SMART EquiTest System from Neurocom. Measured data were processed using the program NeuroCom Balance Manager software. In the Framework of study were conducted two intrumental measurements in the range of two months. After the first measurement all probands were instructed how to...
Systhesis and Characterisation of the Insulin-like Peptide 5 from Drosophila melanogaster
Halušková, Petra ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Poljaková, Jitka (referee)
Many evolutionary conserved proteins and mechanisms have been observed in nature, one of them is insulin and its signal pathway. Importantly, many parts of this pathway in humans are similar to those found in lower organisms, such as fruit fly (Drosophila melanogaster). Insulin is one of the most studied complex molecules; it acts primarily as a hormone but it can also act as a growth factor due to its evolutionary congeniality and similarity to the IGF. It has long been unclear how insulin binds to its receptor and how insulin or insulin-like proteins influence regulation of metabolism, cell proliferation, cell growth and also the size of organs and the whole body. Examining insulin-like peptide superfamily and its signal pathway in invertebrates may thus be used to better understand many metabolic processes in vertebrates thanks to high evolutionary conservation. In this thesis, we tried to prepare an analogue of insulin like peptide 5 (DILP5) of Drosophila melanogaster by a total chemical synthesis. This analogue is composed of A-chain of human insulin and B-chain of DILP5. In B-chain all methionins were replaced by amino acid norleucine using a chain combination method through S-sulfonate forms of each chain. The results show that this protein can be successfully prepared, however, the amount...
Mention Metanoia in Pastoral and Social Work
Kerepecká, Jana ; Milfait, René (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the term metanoia, which can be replaced by the more familiar term conversion. It is a decision for a radical change of life, which involves the whole person and leads to transformation and new orientation of values and standards. It is about turning away from the current way of life and turning to God. This is a personal response to God's invitation to his fellowship. The aim of this thesis is to describe the process of conversion and put it into the context of selected areas of social and pastoral practice. The first part deals with the essence of conversion and the question what conversion brings. In the second part, some of the stories of biblical figures from the Old and New Testament are analysed. The process of metanoia and its aspects are well captured in this stories. Finally, the third and the fourth parts are devoted to the meaning of metanoia for pastoral and social practice. It is shown that just here metanoia has its place.
Relationship Between Spirituality and Morality in the Context of Social Work
Kurková, Jana ; Milfait, René (advisor) ; Žáková, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor theses deals with relationship between spirituality and morality in the context of social work. Their connection is greatly reflected in attitudes and behavior of people to themselves as well as to others. The theses provide inspiration and ways of solving problems in the field of social work, for students and graduates of social disciplines, as well as for social, pastoral workers, layperson and for those who are concerned with the lives of others. The aim of this work is to highlight the importance of interconnection of biblical Christian spirituality and morality and their consequences in social work. At the same time it is based on the fact that spirituality and morality are mutually enriching. The work is grounded on biblical message and the relevant documents relating to morality and spirituality, including church documents, Compendium of the Social Doctrine of the Church and ethnical codes.
Study of the role of the B-chain N-terminus conformation of insulin in binding to the insulin receptor
Kosinová, Lucie ; Žáková, Lenka (advisor) ; Obšil, Tomáš (referee)
According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), there were 371 million people in the age from 20 to 79 years worldwide affected by diabetes in 2012. This means diabetes has become a global epidemic disease and, therefore, the importace of insulin research still grows. Insulin is a protein hormone that plays a key role in regulating blood glucose level which has a widespread impact on whole metabolism. Insulin acts through binding of its monomeric form to the insulin receptor. It is clear that insulin monomer has to undergo structural changes upon binding to the insulin receptor as the residues which are crucial for the interaction are burried within the native form. According to studies of highly active hormone analogs and the new information about the insulin-insulin receptor complex, there is a strong evidence that the C-terminal part of the B-chain is a dynamic element in insulin activation and receptor binding. Probably, there is also a great importance of the B-chain N- terminus and the transition between T and R conformations of insulin. However, the exact significance of the T and R states of insulin still remains unclear. In this work, several new insulin analogs AibB3-insulin, AibB5-insulin, AibB8- insulin, N-MeAlaB8-insulin and D-ProB8-insulin were prepared for the purpose of...
