The effect of temperature and moisture on biology of house dust mites Dermatophagoides farinae
Vacková, Tereza ; Hubert, Jan (advisor) ; Votýpka, Jan (referee)
The biology and allergen production of dust mites are significantly influenced by hygrothermal factors (temperature and humidity). This thesis summarizes studies dealing with the effect of temperature and humidity on the population growth of mites species Dermatophagoides farinae, their metabolism (represented by their respiration rate) and migration patterns within a temperature gradient (simulating conditions in the vertical section of a mattress). D. farinae colonies reared at different combinations of temperature and humidity (in the range of 15-35 řC and 62-94% RH) showed the average highest and stable population growth at 28 řC and 85% RH. The highest CO2 production of this species was - within studied temperature (15-35 řC) - observed at 30 řC. At this temperature there were two respiration peaks at RH 90% (smaller peak) and 65% (larger peak). Within a temperature gradient (19-41 řC), fed mites were most often found in the sector with a temperature range of 32-36 řC. This phenomenon was observed in both experimental designes: in a stable (24 h) temperature gradient, but also in experiment with 5 days of alternating cycles of the same gradient (8 h / day) and room temperature (16 h / day). Conversely, the highest number of non-feeding mites was found in the sector with a temperature range of...
Peer consultants in the system of mental health support services: the journey to peer programs
Vacková, Tereza ; Cidlinská, Kateřina (advisor) ; Formánková, Lenka (referee)
The master thesis is focused on peer consultants in the field of mental health care and their path to this profession. During the course of research, the topic was expanded to include reasons for staying and leaving. The aim of the paper is to find out how people with mental disease become peer consultants and what factors contribute to their staying in the profession or, conversely, leaving the profession. The research was carried out using qualitative research conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with peer consultants from psychiatric hospitals, various non-profit organizations and Mental Health Centers. Seven women and 3 men all currently in peer consultant positions were involved in the analysis. The collected dataset was analyzed using open coding. The research identifies positive and negative factors that influence the entry of people with mental illness into the profession. The factors that contribute to entering the profession mainly include concerns about one's own health as a result of the psychological demands of the job, the level of their own Recovery and still also ignorance about the existence of this profession. On the contrary, the obstacles include the fact that this work reflects their special needs and it is a helping profession. Research participants identify the...
Porovnávání klíčivosti a přežívání semenáčků v mikrostanovištích pastvin
VACKOVÁ, Tereza
The success of seedling survival was studied in microhabitats of a pasture. Seed germination of three species Trifolium pratense, Achillea millefolium and Carlina acaulis was observed in different types of microhabitats i.e. molehills, anthills, wild boar disturbances, and artificial gaps. Also, the environmental factors were measured. The observed microsites varied greatly in their soil conditions and seedlings of Trifolium pratense performed the best, particularly in wild boar disturbances.
The effect of abiotic factors on house dust mites Dermatophagoides farinae
Vacková, Tereza ; Hubert, Jan (advisor) ; Zemek, Rostislav (referee)
House dust mites are one of the most important allergenic agents found in households worldwide. The biology of these mites is significantly affected by hygrothermal factors - especially by temperature and humidity. The study is focused on the influence of temperature and humidity to the behavior of Dermatophagoides farinae within a thermal gradient (simulating a vertical section of a mattress), on its metabolism (represented by respiration rate) and population growth. Within a constant thermal gradient (19-41 řC) run for 24 h D. farinae mites most often received food in the sector with a temperature range of 32-36 řC. In experiment with 5 days of alternating cycles of the same gradient (8 h / day) and room temperature (16 h / day) was the sector with a temperature range of 32-36 řC for mite's feeding also the most prefered. In contrast, in both variants of the experiment, non-feeding mites preferred the sector with a temperature range of 19-23 řC (or rather, the largest number of them were found in this sector during the evaluation). During the measurement of respiration, mites of this species showed significant CO2 production when were incubated at temperatures of 25- 30 řC. Out of the studied combinations of temperature and humidity, the highest respiration was measured when mites were incubated...
The biochemical parameters of wine and their changes during ageing
Vacková, Tereza ; Hudeček, Jiří (advisor) ; Hodek, Petr (referee)
3. Abstract Wines marketed under the same brandname and designation may differ in color and other characteristic, as they may come from different batches. These differences may reflect different concentrations of individual components in wine, reflecting, for example, different compositions of individual cupages. We used the reagent set "Malá vinařská laboratoř" (supplied by the BS Vinařské závody, Velké Bílovice, ČR) to determine principal parameters of two samples of a white wine with the same brandname, differing in color. For comparison, one sample of red wine was studied with the same methods. After opening the wine, we followed the changes of selected parameters during ageing, for 14 days (keeping the wine in a cold place), and also in a short-term experiment under elevated temperature. Our laboratory data were complemented by a more detailed analysis of phenolics and other antioxidants, performed in a specialised laboratory (Mendel Agricultural University, Brno, ČR).
Mutual duty between parents and children to support and maintain in theory and practice
Vacková, Tereza ; Radvanová, Senta (advisor) ; Frinta, Ondřej (referee)
Maintenance between parents and children Resumé My thesis deals with the mutual maintenance of parents and children in theory and in practice and the thesis consists of ten chapters. The topic of alimony is a very current topic. Our society is constantly changing and its relations in the families as well. The families which are functioning decrease so the needed family members have to seek for their rights. Each of us is a parent or a child, so this topic affects all of us. The first chapter defines the basic concepts of my thesis, such as the concept of maintenance obligations, the differences between different types of maintenance obligations, the definition of subjects of maintenance obligations and the differences between the Czech and the International legal system. The final part of the first chapter discusses the new regulations of maintenance obligations, which will come into effect with new Civil Code. The main chapters focus on alimony obligation of parents to children and on alimony obligation of children to parents. I discuss the basic concepts and I define them. In those chapters the newly created tables from the Ministry of Justice for calculating the alimony with its application in the practice of Czech courts, where also the latest judiciary decisions are mentioned, also are taken into...
Prevention of specific behavioral and learning disorders in pre-schoolage
Vacková, Tereza ; Bartoňová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Felcmanová, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with prevention of specific behavioural and learning disorders in preschool children. The bachelor thesis is aimed to find out the awareness and experience of parents about preventive measures for preschool children and the impacts of implemented preventive measures. The theoretical part of thesis describes the issues of prevention, specific behavioural disorders and specific learning disabilities. The work also deals with the early detection of the disorder, cooperation, communication between involved parties. The empirical part consists of mixed research - the result of the questionnaire, a semi-structured interview with a parent, a psychologist, a special ed teacher/speech therapist, and case study. The first research technique was a questionnaire, which was focused on finding out the awareness and experience of parents about preventive measures, their satisfaction with the setting, and their implementation. Furthermore, three case studies were prepared, which showed us the impact of implemented preventive measures, views, and attitudes of parents and experts on the issue. For the elaboration and credibility of the conclusions, the technique of interview was also used, which was carried out with a counsellor (psychologist, special ed teacher/ speech therapist) and a...
Cooling in air conditioning
Vacková, Tereza ; Blasinski, Petr (referee) ; Rubina, Aleš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of regrigerant cooling. The theoretical part describes laws of termodynamics, basic thermodynamic processes of ideal gas and cooling cycles. The dependence of the cooler bypass factor of air handling unit on its capacity is the main issue of the experimental part. The aim of practical part is to design the air-conditioning device using knowledge of experimental part and compare it with the proposal of air-conditiong device in my bachelor thesis.
