Interkulturní komunikace pracovníků v cestovním ruchu

Marková, T. Intercultural communication of employees in tourism. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2022. The bachelor thesis deal with the intercultural communication of workers in a selected area of tourism. The aim of the thesis is to find out the ways of intercultural communication of workers in spa facilities with foreign business partners and to create proposals for the elimination of problem areas. The thesis is divided into several parts. The theoretical part describes the issues of intercultural man-agement, Hofstede’s dimensions, and culture. The current situation in spa tourism will also be discussed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodological part focuses on the description of research and the form of data collection. In the practical part, information on business communication of selected countries will be written, including an evaluation of the obtained interviews. The final part of the work will summarize the findings and quantify the economic proposals.
Motive of the city in the prose of Ladislav Fuks

This bachelor's thesis deals with the motive of the city in three prose works by Ladislav Fuks, which are Pan Theodor Mundstock, Spalovač mrtvol and Variace pro temnou strunu. The aim of the work is to investigate how the space of the city appears in these works and what characteristic features it has. The work is methodologically based mainly on literary- topological studies of Czech authors and the monograph Citlivé město by Daniela Hodrová. Formally, the work consists of three parts. In the first, the literary space is discussed and the possibilities by which it and its concrete realization, the city, can be approached, are outlined. In the second part, the space of the city in Fuks's prose is approached and then viewed from the point of view of literary topology and semiotics. The third part focuses on the (mostly) common features of the city within individual works.
Ethical dilemmas of social workers in counseling centers for people with disabilities

This master's thesis deals with the topic of ethical dilemma of social workers in counseling facilities for handicapped people. The first chapter is dedicated to types of handicaps and social issues, which those handicaps create. It also deals with a social work with handicapped people. Its main focus is area of a specialized social consulting. The second chapter discusses ethical dilemmas, their definition and eventually particulars dilemmas, which were observed by a research. The research was conducted in South Bohemia in counseling facilities for handicapped people. The next chapter deals with an ethical theory, which debates consequences of human activities and their usefulness, so called utilitarianism. Also one ethical dilemma is discussed here through utilitarianism theory. The last chapter discusses results of the conducted research and outcome of the master's thesis.
School counselling centres' support of LGBTQ students

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of supporting LGBTQ students. It describes the experiences of LGBTQ adolescents in the school environment and the different forms of support that can be provided to them in this environment. The work focuses mainly on the support of LGBTQ students from the school counseling centres and the role of school counselors and school psychologists as advocates for LGBTQ students. The research in this work is dedicated to mapping out the experiences and comparing the views of school counselors and school psychologists and LGBTQ students on LGBTQ topics in Czech education and the role of the school counseling centres in supporting LGBTQ students. The research in this thesis is qualitative and works with two research sets. Individual interviews and focus groups were used for data collection, thematic analysis was chosen for subsequent data analysis. The results of the research draw attention to the absence of LGBTQ topics in Czech education and the insufficient support of LGBTQ students by adults in education. The thesis provides an analysis of how manufacture company focused on ecology deal with issues regarding trade with packaging. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the process of reverse logistics in company and to introduce improvements and suggestions for such process.
Civic society organizations providing social services and entrepreneurial activities in Pardubice region

SYNOPSIS This thesis covers partial universe of civic society organizations that provide social services in Pardubice region. The primary goal of the thesis is to explore, through a questionnaire research, whether the income generated by these organizations is a determining factor in their association with the concept of social economy and social enterprise. The secondary goal is to identify, using semi-structured interviews with the representatives of civic society organizations, how they fulfill principles of social enterprise based to the "softer definition" developed by EMES. The first two chapters introduce concepts of public sector and social economy as well as identify their similarities and differences. It is followed by a description of social services and support of civic society organizations from the view point of several parties. The third chapter is dedicated to the actual research.
LGBT and the identity of a gamer

This bachelor thesis explores identity of a person of sexual or gender minority group in a context of game culture. It deals with the question of whether the LGBTQ identity of a video game player in some way influences his experience with playing computer games and how this influence manifests itself. The theoretical part of this work first introduces the topic of LGBTQ identity and explains the difference between sexual orientation and gender identity. Identity is a main topic of the next chapter of this work, as it focuses on identity itself and the relation of sexual orientation and gender identity of a person to his overall identity and mentions the specifics of the identity of a person with minority sexual orientation and gender identity. The next part of the work focuses on the description of the gaming environment and how the player's identity is projected into it. The main topics of this part are the identification of a player with a game character, the relationship of a player with a game character and also the topic of gender in the game environment. Furthermore, the theoretical part of the work focuses directly on LGBTQ gamers.
