Purpose and rationality in the theory of action: Max Weber, Talcott Parsons and an outline of an alternative

Submitted thesis examines the role of the notion of end (purpose) in the theory of action and how reaching an end can be considered as rational. Underlying motive is an intuition of the Frankfurt school that identified modern society as irationally rational. By supplementing the notion of end with a dimension of its latitude - the spectrum of possibilities that are open for an action - I try to diferentiate it and enable a multi-dimensional conception of purposeful action in which creative and reactive aspects of an action can be separated. Inside this conception I try to make the abovementioned oxymóron intelligible without relying on moral maxims to which would be the action subordinated. To the this goal I progress from a discussion of the hermeneutical metatheoretical principles through a critical analysis of Weber's and Parsons' theory of action. I go through Weber's concept of understanding (verstehende) sociology, the question of access into the perspective of others, the notion of meaning (purpose), end, and rationality and Parsons' discussion of the possibilitties of analytical theory in sociology and the concept of "unit act".

Some sociological aspects of the tramping movement

The aim of this theoretical paper is to describe and analyze some of the most important sociological aspects of the tramping movement which had a serious impact upon many areas of leisure activities in the Czech republic. Beginning with a brief historical outlook, it was shown how the tramping movement have substantially been affected by specific historical circumstances. This part endeavoured to point out the most important periods which had a formative impact on the process of the tramping movement development in to an incommutable part of the Czech cul ture. The following section of the paper is designed as an attempt to categorize the movement within the broader social contex. I emphasized some of its significant features, allowing us to analyze the tramping movement throught the concept of subculture with consideration of some strong ties to particular generations. Czech tramping was also a very important element in the development of second housing, especially in the surroundings of Prague. In its early stages, the movement defined the structure and the basic shape of recreational settlements which later became the typical part of the Czech landscape. Communication strategy of the company

This thesis deals with suggestion and its following execution of communication strategy on selected program of a company. This strategy is aimed on processing of loan and non-bank related functions. The main goal of this thesis is to design a communication strategy of a concrete product and to analyze it by its efectivity on communication mix after the product introduction.
My thesis is divided into two parts. In my literature review I will present theoretical resources. The analytical part is used to specify and develop these findings. Concretely my analytical part describes initial situation of a company, main information about the product and goals of the company after implementation of the product. Assignment of a company XY (Name not available at the company's request) defines the analysis, which is process by advertising agency (on behalf of the author of thesis) through communication possibilities on market thanks to obtained findings. Author of this thesis also suggests a proper communication mix based on this analysis. Suggested communication is established on impersonal direct mail communication. This communication is used to satisfy needs of both new and current communities. Therefore also a combination of pull and push strategy. The conclusion if this thesis is compilation of suggested communication strategy and evaluation of gained results on given campaign.

Marketing Strategy Design for Yonex Company - new Product Launch in the Czech Republic

Diplomová práce je věnována problematice zavedení nového typu sportovních bot značky Yonex na český trh. Práce je rozdělena do více částí. První je především zaměřena na teoretický rozbor standardního postupu zavedení nového produktu na trh, který bývá uváděn v odborných publikacích. Druhá, praktická část analyzuje postup zavedení nového typu bot ve florbalové divizi Yonex na český trh. Třetí, závěrečná část práce je zhodnocení marketingové strategie firmy Yonex a stanovení doporučení, jak připravenou strategii zavedení produktu realizovat. Požadovaným výstupem práce je vyhodnocení analýzy a stanovení již zmíněných doporučení, které mohou proces zavádění nových produktů firmy Yonex zlepšit a popřípadě i celý proces usnadnit.

Study of Distribution Logistics in K-BREWERY TRADE

In my bachelor thesis is a subject the study of distribution logistics in K Brewery Trade. The study is separated into three parts, theoretical, analysis and my own proposal of solution. The first part is focused on the theory of clasification of transport, logistics of transportation and characteristics of carriers and transport services. Analysis is focused on the form of distribution networks and the criteria for transport of goods between distribution centers of the selected company. My own proposal of solution is developed according to materials from the company.

Implementation of laser technology

The aim of this thesis is to describe the replacement of wire cutting laser cutting for cutting inserts made of hard material. Description of current situation in the company Vydona, tender and choice of laser and the need for post-laser workshop. The next section deals with the cutting of a particular sample. The last part of the technical economic assessment are calculated hourly rates of machines and the time and cost loads of different cutting inserts.

Quality management system for small organization

This diploma thesis deals with a quality management system of a small construction company. The aim is to analyse the existing baseline system and propose specific measures leading to compliance with the ČSN EN ISO 9001:2009 standard specification. The first three chapters focus on general description and concepts of quality management systems. The next chapter identifies and maps the main processes in the studied construction company and proposes a new quality management system. The last chapter presents general guidelines for creation of management documentation.
