Study and Evaluation of Topically Applied Ceramides onto Disrupted Skin Barrier
Svobodová, Marie ; Kováčik, Andrej (advisor) ; Vraníková, Barbora (referee)
Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Author: M S b S , Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Study and Evaluation of Topically Applied Ceramides onto Disrupted Skin Barrier Skin is the largest organ of the human body and serves several key functions, such as protection against external influences and regulation of body temperature. Healthy skin is able to maintain the integrity and stability of the organism due to its complex structure. The skin is composed of several layers of cells, including the stratum corneum (SC), which forms the main protective barrier. Ceramides (CER) are one of the main types of barrier lipids found in the SC. These lipid molecules, along with other lipids, create a hydrophobic matrix that protects the skin from dehydration and other external influences. The lack of CER in the skin barrier leads to the disruption of its function and the worsening of the skin condition. This is associated with many diseases, such as dermatitis, psoriasis, and others. The study of CER in the SC is important to understand the mechanisms of skin protection and to develop new therapeutic approaches for the treatment of skin diseases. Topical administration of barrier lipids, especially CER, is one possible treatment route for skin diseases. Therefore, the aim of this work was to prepare...
Acoustic parameters of the speech signal and their intra- and interindividual variability in Czech
Houzar, Alžběta ; Skarnitzl, Radek (advisor) ; Volín, Jan (referee) ; Hes Svobodová, Marie (referee)
The doctoral thesis focuses on the variability of a wide range of acoustic parameters of the speech signal in the Czech language. It summarizes the methodological approaches applied in previous studies on the acoustic characteristics of speech and presents a comprehensive analysis of intra-speaker and inter-speaker variability of an extensive set of selected parameters through original experiments conducted using a unified speech material. The individual experiments examined acoustic parameters that characterize fundamental frequency, vowel formants, short- and long-term frequency spectrum, and the temporal domain of speech, employing a total of 61 metrics. The variability of all parameters was observed within an individual's speech during one type of utterance as well as in relation to speaking style, with recordings of both read and spontaneous speech from thirty speakers being analyzed. Based on the experimental results, information regarding the distribution of parameter values in both speaking styles within the given population was obtained. In the final experiment, a comprehensive analysis of all investigated parameters was conducted, focusing on their mutual relationships and their contribution to the overall variability of the speech signal. The results of this comprehensive analysis...
Phenomenon Like House as an example of an internet-television media convergence
Svobodová, Marie ; Řehořová, Irena (advisor) ; Marcelli, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis focuses on the concept of media convergence as an complex and unpredictable process of old and new media colliding. More precisely, the the focus is of convergence between the television and the internet media. Due to digitalization the TV is undergoing changes and unavoidably interacts with the internet. The media convergence is shown on the example of a Czech reality show called Like House, where a group of influencers - internet (micro)celebrities - lives under one roof. Like House 2 is here not considered just as a reality show but as a hybrid multimedia project that spans across multiple media platforms and comes to be from multiple sources. Based on the analysis of the TV episodes as well as the associated social media, the conclusion is that the logic of television and internet is inherently linked together here. Like House 2 is an example of how media convergence can look like where media are converging on multiple levels.

Acoustic properties of Czech diphthongs
Studenovský, David ; Palková, Zdenka (advisor) ; Zimmermann, Július (referee) ; Hes Svobodová, Marie (referee)
This thesis aims to contribute to the basic acoustic description of Czech diphthongs [ou, au, eu]. The diphthong is a unit characterized by the change of quality within its duration, thus dividing it into two parts. The analysis of this change and the phonologic interpretation of these two-part segments in the system of a given language is however difficult. This is why the description of diphthongs was frequently neglected. At the present time, the need for investigating such units is increasing - neurophonetic and psychological research on the one hand and speech technology on the other are more and more interested in examining speech segments with short temporal changes. To obtain a detailed acoustic description of diphthongs is a topical problem of current language description. In this thesis we studied the aspects of duration, spectrum and intensity changes at the local level and compared them with results acquired for simple vowels. In the temporal domain we observed the duration values divided by the initial, transient and final part of the diphthongs on the basis of auditory perception and also their total duration. The material used was partly taken from the database of the Institute of Phonetics, Faculty of Arts, Charles University in Prague, partly from specifically created texts. The...

Transgender Persons' Perspectives on Gender Transition
Svobodová, Marie ; Hrešanová, Ema (advisor) ; Tučková, Anna (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of gender transition from the transgender perspective. In the Czech Republic gender transition is under the thumb of sociology. The aim of this thesis is to find out what is the relation between the perspective of sexology and the experience of people who are undergoing gender transition and identify as transgender. Special attention is paid to embodiment as an important aspect of gender transition. In addition, the thesis deals with the opinions of transgender people regarding the process of gender transition. This thesis is qualitative, and it's based on biographic interviews with transgender individuals. The main discovery is that the transgender embodiment proves to be quite diverse and complex. How transgender individuals regard their bodies depends not only on their personal perception of self, but also on social conditions. Therefore, the unanimous narrative sexology puts through seems to be inaccurate and not inclusive enough of all trans experiences. This was affirmed by the transgender people themselves who were critical towards the transgender perspective and the system of gender transition in the Czech Republic.
The Business Plan of Production and Distribution of Breakfast in Selected Location
Sojková, Šárka ; Svobodová, Marie (referee) ; Bumberová, Veronika (advisor)
The thesis is aimed at creating a real business plan for setting up a business in the production and distribution of breakfast for the selected location. Theoretical starting points for the work include basic concepts related to focusing on the carrier idea of the plan, the creation of the business model, the composition of the business plan, in particular the analytical-research methods used in the planning. The analysis section deals with the validation of the business idea and includes the identification of key factors in the wider context of the environment, the summary of which is then followed by a suitable strategy for a start-up in this area. The draft part describes the chosen strategy for the start-up business, including the business model, and their development into parts of the business plan structure.
