Slavophilism and Slavophil paradigm in Russian philosophy of the 19th century

The dissertation concerns position of the Slavophilism within Russian philosophy of the 19th century. The Slavophil phenomenon is critically analyzed and main principles of most significant theoreticians such as A. Khomiakov and I. Kireevsky are described. The Slavophilism is characterized as specific intellectual paradigm based on three major grounds - organic wholeness concept, religion as a basic factor and autonomy of entities. It shows following evolution of this paradigm in Russian mind of the 19th century in case of A. Grigoriev, N. Strakhov, N. Danilevsky, K. Leontiev and V. Soloviev. The other existence of the paradigm in other development of Russian mind is pointed out.

The diploma thesis is a contribution to the research of the religious crisis at the begining of the 20th century in the area of today's Czech Republic. It deals mainly with the Czech speaking Old-Catholic church, which was represented mainly by the parish of Prague. The thesis deals with the historical roots of Czech Old-catholicism, and with the points in common with the Catholic modernism movement. The thesis describes the emergence of the Czech speaking Old-catholic parish in Prague, its development and mainly its relations to other churches, to the newly established Czechoslovak church especially.

The purpose of my work is to present the problematics associated with the relationship between church and state in South Africa in the period which culminates in apartheid in the twentieth century. I will examine the role of the reformed church before, at the beginning and during apartheid. I will also point out the significance of the other local Christian churches throughout the South African conflict.

This thesis is focused on the philosophical questions of Master Jerome of Prague. It puts the accent on the till this time edited questions published by Jerome of Prague untill 1409. The thesis simultaneously deals with the life of this Czech master, who was master of liberal arts of the universities of Paris, Cologne, Heidelberg and Prague and so it also deals with his activities at these universities till the quodlibet disputation in 1409.

The Cross in Changing of Times and its Significance in Ancient Society The cross is the most widespread symbol appearing worldwide right from the prehistoric times. Though being formed of a very simple shape of two intersecting lines the significance is far reaching. This dissertation looks at the cross both as a sign pointing beyond itself and concentrates on the diversity of its visual appearance. It tries to trace back the possible factors preceding Antiquity influencing the formation of the actual shape in that particular period of history. Although for most part the cross is understood in its connection with the Crucifixion of Christ its history is far more complex beginning in pre-Christian era. The biblical texts present more or less mere allusions of the cross itself. Seen typologically the cross may be understood as the element connecting both Old and New Testament creating a sort of a bridge between them. The careful analysis of the Early Christian documents brings several terms used for the same reality. The most significant are - σταυρός with the Latin equivalent crux and ξύλου (wood) with the Latin equivalent lignum. Later on these give a way to a more general term of σημεῖον (sign) and finally to a symbolic expression "σύμβολον σωτηρίας" (sign-symbol of salvation). The early Christian writers...

In my thesis I have focused on celebrating holidays of the Macedonian nation. The first part of the thesis is a historical introduction, it deals with general definition, characterization of ethnic composition of Macedonia' s population, geographic definition and also its historical transformations; it deals with development of Christianity in the territory of lllodern Macedonia. The text includes also my own observations from the village of Ilinden.

This report to tries to afford the comment to particulars of historical phenomenon heresy in medieval Bosnia, which we find as the main points for definition of confessional identity of o-called Bosnian "krstjans". Before anything else it's the question of the origin of occurrence of heresy in this state, next very important points are circumstances of rise the independent, Bosnian church, character of church establishment and base of doctrine.
