Education of foster parents

This thesis deals with foster care and fosters parent education. The main aim of the thesis is to evaluate whether foster carers are satisfied with the topics offered and the length of the mandatory continuing education. A sub-objective of the thesis is to describe the biggest problems of children in foster care related to school and school preparation and to highlight these problems by creating a case study. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters and is based on a study of the literature. The first chapter deals with the general topic of foster care and the application for foster care. The second chapter focuses more on the foster carer himself and his preparation. The third chapter focuses on the foster carers' training and the accompanying organizations. The fourth chapter deals with the characteristics of children in foster care and their school and educational problems. The practical section focuses on the research itself. In the empirical part, a research investigation was conducted with a combination of qualitative and quantitative elements. Women's experience with miscarriage in the first trimester of pregnancy

The aim of the thesis was to map the experiences of women with spontaneous abortion (miscarriage) in the first trimester of pregnancy. The data for the empirical part of the qualitative design was obtained through an electronic document in which the informants answered open- ended questions by writing. The research sample consisted of 17 informants who had experienced spontaneous abortion in the first trimester of their wanted pregnancy and had not yet had any children. The data collected were analysed using qualitative methods and the women's experiences were described and interpreted using grounded theory. Women's experiences were explored in several areas: experiencing abortion, loss and grief, needs, sharing, social environment reactions, and protective factors. Women's experiences of spontaneous abortion included mainly shock, sadness, fear, anger, guilt and feelings of failure. Many women experienced miscarriage as the death of their baby and grieved for it. Women needed to be treated with empathy and respect by those close to them and by health professionals. The role of the primary school teacher in creating a school classroom climate and his/her impact on school success

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of the teacher's personality on the classroom climate and school success of pupils. The theoretical part deals with the three basic areas described in the individual chapters - the personality of the teacher, the classroom climate and its actors and components, and last but not least, school success. The topic of motivating pupils in teaching also corresponds to school success, especially at present. In the practical part, the thesis presents the results of qualitative research conducted in the third grade of primary school, which is very specific in its composition, the school itself includes a special program for exceptionally gifted students and currently also educates a large number of students with different mother tongue. In addition, students with specific learning disabilities also appear in the classroom. The three areas described in the theoretical part are mapped by the methods typical for qualitative research, participatory observation, through observation sheets of own production and inspired by scientific literature, and a semi-structured interview with the class teacher. Book in the Preschooler's family

1 Abstract: This diploma thesis deals with the role of a book in a preschool child's family. The aim of the theoretical part is to point out the importance of a book reading to a pre-school child in a family and also to point out the importance of books, the position of children's literature in the multimedia world. The theoretical part also deals with the description of different kinds of books a child of this age may encounter and also with the demands on children's literature. Practical part deals with the interpretation of data gained through research lead in a form of half-structured interviews of a parent with a pre-school-age child. The survey observes books in a family in three areas: Book and the parent's own childhood, Current situation in adulthood and Current situation with the parent's own child. Emphasis is put especially on the situation with the parent's own child focused on the work with a book as a means of education, on the child's interest in books and reading, on the child's and parent's book choice and their library attendance. Star-Wave-Test at risk children

Bachelor thesis aims to identify differences between vulnerable children in the younger and middle school age (children from orphanages, foster families) and children living with their biological families. For the comparison there is a selected graphic test, "The Star- Wave- Test" which consists of several marking criteria. These criteria will be analysed in detail taking into accounts the ages and the group to which the children belong to and compare the marking criteria, it will follow a statistical analysis of data which will indicate statistically the differences between groups.

ABSTRACT: In my bachelor thesis I present the issue of peer relations in the period of adolescence. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to create a probe into relationships among peers within the Dětský domov se školou Měcholupy. I tried to map the quality of the team and to find out the influence of sex and placement into school classrooms and family groups on relationships of children. For the mapping of peer relationships, I first used the sociometric questionnaire B- 3U, which I then added by another questionnaire. The results of both methods I mutually compared and created insight into the relationships of adolescents in DDŠ Měcholupy. Children at risk of compulsory school attendance

This thesis deals with the postponement of compulsory school attendance. The theoretical part defines the characteristics of the pre-season in terms of the development of key competencies and skills as a prerequisite for entry into school and also describes the concept of school readiness and legislative definition postponement of compulsory school attendance. It also discusses the risk areas for children and their removal. The work also addresses the key factors that may dominate in the postponement of school attendance (eg. Family socio-culturally disadvantaged environment, attention deficits, speech problems, health problems) and possible sources of support for the child at risk for school attendance postponement (eg .: Family , kindergartens, educational-psychological counseling centers, special pedagogical center, leisure activities, etc.). I also mention the risk of early entry into primary school. In the practical part we will learn what areas of risk in children most often. Results get the records of the child's progress during the first term of the school year, based on which we can experience a significant shift of children in different areas and with the help of a questionnaire survey, observation of children. Relationship between posttraumatic growth and coping processes of healthy siblings of children with disabilities

This thesis is focused on the current concept of coping with stressful situations and the concept of posttraumatic growth of healthy siblings of disabled children. The first part of this thesis deals with stressful situations throughout the life of healthy sibling. The work describes the ways of coping with difficult life situations as well as coping strategies oriented to the future (proactive coping). It also focuses on the positive effects of this experience within the concept of posttraumatic growth. The empirical part presents the data obtained from nine respondents. There were used these methods: interview, narrative inspired by life-story, questionnaire PTGI-CZ and PCI questionnaire. The data were elaborated by means of qualitative and quantitative methods. The aim of the thesis was to identify the coping strategies used by siblings and identify potential posttraumatic growth. The most considerable development was reflected in the areas of "appreciation of life" and "personal growth". The most helpful coping strategies were considered to be positive thinking and positive reappraisal of a situation. We believe that these research findings might be helpful in counselling for siblings or in the area of psychotherapy.

The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of poor readers in the context of reading comprehension. Poor readers are diverse group of readers, who are inferior to normal-reading peers in various aspects of reading. Reading comprehension is crucial skill in the process of acquiring, learning and using informations from every area of human activity. The aim of this thesis is to generally map the concept of poor readers and to identify specific problems shown by poor readers in reading comprehension tests. The theoretical part presents the concepts of mapping the issue, such as literacy, educational methods, reading comprehension. The main part focuses on the characteristics and specifics of poor readers in the context of the simple view of reading. Apart from this, other types of readers such as dyslectisc and poor comprehenders are described and compared to poor readers. The practical section is based on GAČR project - Reading comprehension - typical development and its risks, carried out by PedF UK, in which I took part. The objective is to analyze decoding and reading comprehension test results of fourth graders.
