Quality of life people with multiple sclerosis
Podhorová, Katarína ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Oborníková, Martina (referee)
The quality of life of people with sclerosis multiplex Bachelor thesis deals with the quality of life of people with multiple sclerosis. Detects subjective view on the quality of life of patients with a given disease and the existence of interindividual differences in coping with disease and prioritization of certain life themes. It points out the impact of the disease on daily life of patients with respect to their mental and physical aspect of life, examines differences between patients influenced by the type of disease and degree of disability. For my bachelor thesis I chose qualitative research in the form of semi-standardized interview using the accompanying methods such as SEIQoL questionnaires and method of life curve. The research involved patients with MS who are treated on an outpatient basis and living at home. Chosen people were willing to participate in research and communicate, which was a key requirement, because the focus of the work in qualitative research. The research group was made of a total of 4 patients with MS, two women and two men. Patient sample can still be divided into two smaller subgroups - two patients with a severe disability (EDSS 7-7.5), treated with chronic-progressive form of the disease and two patients with minor disability (EDSS 1 and 2), treated with...

Number of pages: 147 Number of attachments: 5 Year of defense: 2016 Key words: senior, carer, stroke, old age and aging, non self-sufficiency, provided care In the theoretical part, this bachelor thesis ascertains quality of life of carers providing elder care to non self-sufficient pensioners. There are defined terms relating to the issue in question, i.e. senior, old age, caring person, non self-sufficiency, biological, psychological and social needs of a senior, stroke. The issues of caring people accompanying elder care are examined in detail. In the empirical part, the author studied life issues of five women providing elder care to non self-sufficient pensioners for the period of 2 to 5 years. The qualitative approach was used in this work - not standardized observation, narration and semi-structured interview. Acquired data were compared with each other and with scientific literature. Based on the results, the author purposes possible interventions that could facilitate care to...
Stress de-tension of the patient before surgery
Mráčková, Petra ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Hadaš, Lubomír (referee) ; Pečenková, Jaroslava (referee)
Summary: Main thema of this bachelor's essay was stress de-tension of the patient efore surgery. This thema is above all particularly elaborate in two main parts, respectively theoretical and empirical. There is definition and clarification of term stress in the theoretical part together with using of special medical literature. There is also pointed to factors evoking and causing stress. This essay furthermore points to the relation between stress and pain at the patient,as the same as between stress and not enough communication to the patient before surgery. Next, there are described possibilities of pain treatment. Theoretical part contents also description of hospital surrounding and its influence to stressogenesis at the patient. In fine of theoretical part there are brought managing strategie, which could detend stress of the patient before surgery. In the empirical part, I have tried to find out by quantitative research the most frequent factors and continuities matched to stress at the patient before surgery. The research file was content from patiens of different age groups and different diagnosis, whose were hospitalizated in Masaryk Hospital in Ústí nad Labem.
Querying relational databases through XSLT
Mareš, Jiří ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Richta, Karel (referee)
XML is becoming standard for information representing and data interchange. A question has arisen if it would be possible to combine simplicity and user friendliness of XML and its querying languages together with performance of relational databases, has arisen. There are several proposals how to carry this connection out. The aim of this thesis is to inspect one of these proposals, eventually modify it and then implement it. The inspected proposal stores XML data into relational database based on knowledge of XML DTD and subsequently queries them using XSLT. XSLT queries will be transformed to SQL queries using DTD of XML data stored in database and a way to transform data back to XML will be suggested.
Comparison of public key cryptography algorithms
Mareš, Jiří ; Stanovský, David (advisor) ; Žemlička, Jan (referee)
In the present work we study comparison of basic public key encryption algorithms - RSA, Rabin and ElGamel method. We derive theoretic complexity of encrypting / decrypting of one block and we derive an expected model of its behavior with the key of double size. We also take practical measurements of speed of each algorithm using keys sized 64 - 4096 bits and we statistically analyze the results. We also mention special cases of some algorithms and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of their practical usage. At the end of this thesis we make a comparison of the speed of algorithms and we also compare the measured data with theoretical hypothesis.
Respecting human dignity in nursing care for patients in long stay hospitals
Řádová, Veronika ; Kutnohorská, Jana (advisor) ; Mareš, Jiří (referee) ; Pečenková, Jaroslava (referee)
88 Synopsis Author: Veronika Řádová Institutions: Charles University in Prague Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové Institute of Social Medicine Department of Nursing Title: Respecting human dignity in nursing care for patients in long stay hospitals Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Jana Kutnohorská, CSc. Number of pages: 102 Number of attachments: 3 Year of viva voice: 2010 Keywords: geriatrics, human dignity, respect for the patient, nursing care, nursing ethics The thesis deals with respect for human dignity in nursing care. The human dignity is a fact that becomes increasingly important with the length of human life. The care of geriatric patients has its own characteristics, due to changes, which pass through the body in old age. High demands are placed on the nursing staff not on only technical but also on human and ethical aspects of nursing care. The research tasks deal with specific types of human dignity, as the nursing staff encounters them during their work. The investigation is focused on the quantitative expression of respect for various types of human dignity in nursing practice from the perspective of the nursing staff. During the research, the staffs were also asked questions about the interpersonal response to the undignified behaviour, interviewees using their discretion were supposed to create a...
The meaning of hope in nursing practice
Veselá, Marcela ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Švarcová, Eva (referee) ; Kutnohorská, Jana (referee)
The aim of my thesis was to describe how love and hope phenomenon relates to nursing care in general. Therefore, in empirical part of my work I focused on a survey conducted among students and practising nurses. Comparing these two target groups, I discovered great differences in views. Students are more oriented on a patients' requirement for love because they are not drudged by day-to-day problems encountered in nursing care. This gives them greater capacity to understand. Having said that, I must stress that many nurses treat their patients with love and understanding of patients' hope. One of the purposes of this work has been to provoke survey participants to think about this problem. The responses I obtained were eloquent, which suggests a successful accomplishment of my thesis.
Few-Body Systems with Non-Zero Strangeness
Donoval, Jan ; Mareš, Jiří (advisor) ; Čížek, Martin (referee)
In this work, we studied the Kd scattering length. We formulated the Faddeev equations in the AGS form for the Kd system. We performed three-body Faddeev calculations in the s-wave approximation in the isospin basis. We studied the sensitivity of the Kd scattering length on the two-body inputs. Our results are reasonably close to the values of previous calculations.

Title: Classification of earth colours Author: Jiří Mareš Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: Mgr. Jan Blažek Supervisor 's e-mail address: blazek@utia.cas.cz Abstract: This bachelor thesis is dealing with the classification of earth colours origin based on its chemical composition. For classification is used K-means classificator, Bayes classificator and self made classification algorithms. Part of this bachelor thesis is also public web service [http://klasifikatorhlinek.somee.com] that contains the classification algorithms. Key words: classification, k-means, Bayess classificator, weight ratio
