The aim of this bachelor thesis is the realization of the application as an experimental software musical instrument on the Android platform. The implementation is partly based on the draft elaborated in semester work. The application is designed for tablets and smartphones. It combines functions of sampler, sequencer and synthesizer and contains built-in effects. With this features, it is possible to create new sounds, sequantions and songs. The applications is programmed by visual programing language Pure Data. The graphic interface is created by the MobMuPlat platform. The thesis is consists of three parts. The first part is a theoretical introduction, where are discussed, the theory of digital audio signal processing, principles and types of sound signal synthesis, effects and electronic instruments. Furthermore, the Pure Data and MobMuPlat platform features. The second part is an updated design of the graphical interface and there are discussed the functions of individual graphic elements. The third part describes implementation of the application by Pure Data
Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units
Nejedlý, Petr ; Kučera, Karel (advisor) ; Pleskalová, Jana (referee) ; Komárek, Karel (referee)
Petr Nejedlý: Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units (abstract of the thesis) The thesis deals with Old Czech lexical units retreating from the centre to periphery of the lexical system. It examines prerequisites of the process, i.e. loss of systemic relations of the lexical unit, and describes its individual forms (the extinction of a lexical unit in the last resort). The work submits an overview of both (intra)linguistic and extra-linguistic factors which are based on development of the lexical unit and influence its retreat to the periphery. Attention is paid to systemic changes in the language which modify internal relationships within the lexical system and also lead to the loss of central position of some lexical units.
Light verb constructions in Humanistic Czech
Martínek, František ; Kučera, Karel (advisor) ; Kosek, Pavel (referee) ; Bunčić, Daniel (referee)
Light verb constructions in Humanistic Czech This thesis surveys the supposed properties of light verb constructions (LVC, in Czech analytická verbonominální spojení, AVNS, in German Funktionsverbgefüge) on an extensive corpus of Czech texts dating from the Humanistic period. The LVC, a combination of a semantically bleached (light, semantically weak) verb and an abstract noun (a preposition and such a noun, respectively), are defined rather broadly and understood not necessarily as a syntactic unit (predicate) but rather as a lexical unit different from both free collocations and phrasemes. Special attention is paid to transitional examples of these constructions with non- prototypical properties of the verb or noun. In the individual chapters, the semantic and syntactical properties of the light verbs are discussed, as well as the word formation (derivation) patterns of the abstract nouns forming the LVC. The core of the analysis lies in the prepositional constructions, on which the LVC-delimitation criteria are applied. It is shown that the meanings of such constructions are subjects to stabilizing and develop from spatial (or directional, respectively) to abstract meanings, including their lexicalization. Moreover, the possibilities of using alternative means of expression are examined. The last chapter...
Exploring case forms of Czech nouns and their ranking in semantic (collocational) classes
Schöne, Karin ; Kučera, Karel (advisor) ; Šebesta, Karel (referee) ; Šindelářová, Jaromíra (referee)
This dissertation aims to identify and analyse the frequency distribution of mor- phological forms of nouns in contemporary Czech. The work is based on an error analysis of texts of non-native speakers revealing and describing frequent types of errors in noun inflection. Against the background of recent research in the field of second language acquisition on the one hand and the principles of communicative approaches to language teaching on the other hand nine textbooks of Czech as a foreign language are analysed for approaches to the introduction and presentation of grammatical cases, their functions and typical constructions. It is concluded that it is necessary to exemplify case functions by prototypical constructions and sufficient sample nouns for which these functions are typical. With regard to the often observed emphasis on the noun as a part of the inflectional paradigm and thus on the nominative singular as its basic form, it is eligible for textbooks and language classes to shift the focus from the dominant paradigmatic to the syntag- matic aspect of nouns and their word forms. One of the initial questions of these theses therefore is which forms of a noun are essential to the adequate (didactical- ly oriented) presentation of the noun and its use. A pilot study conducted on the data of...
Effect of N-acetylcysteine and therapeutic hypothermia on ischemia-reperfusion injury after experimental cardiac arrest
Pinterová, Nikola ; Škulec, Roman (advisor) ; Kučera, Karel (referee)
Therapeutic hypothermia (TH) is the only clinically used intervention that suppresses nearly all manifestations of ischemia-reperfusion injury after cardiac arrest. Experimental models has proven that exogenous antioxidants have positive impact on ischemia-reperfusion injury and it is able to prevent it as well. Results in this thesis are based on application of high dosages of N-acetylcystein (NAC) on ischemia-reperfusion injury after experimental cardiac arrest in a porcine model. It was used as a form of monoteraphy or in combination with TH. During the experiment animals were randomized into 5 groups: administration of NAC and TH (group A), administration of NAC during cardiac arrest (group B), induction of TH (group C), without any intervention (group D) and administration of NAC after return of spontaneous circulation (group E). We were not able to confirm additive effect of NAC in combination with TH. Administration of NAC during cardiac arrest led to statistically important reduction of oxidative stress but in the same time anafylactic reaction led to higher mortality in group B and changes in hemodynamical parameters in group E. Key words: Therapeutic hypothermia, cardiac arrest, N-acetylcysteine, ischemia-reperfusion injury, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, oxidative stress, oxygen radicals

Morphological Analyser of Old English
Tichý, Ondřej ; Čermák, Jan (advisor) ; Petkevič, Vladimír (referee) ; Kučera, Karel (referee)
The paper describes the construction and testing of an electronic application for automatic morphological analysis of Old English. It introduces resources and methodologies at our disposal based on the state of the art in the field of electronic analysis of Old English and on an overview of Old English morphology. A detailed account of the chosen methodology is offered and a specific description of the implementation is provided: from the acquisition and preparation of the input data and choice of technology to the programming and testing of the results. The resulting recall of 95% can be seen as a success of the project, however, the paper also shows how the recall may be improved. It also discusses further use of the analyser, especially the disambiguation of its results. The paper makes a future semi-automatic morphological tagging of Old English texts a real possibility. Mgr. Kateřina Voleková Česká lexikografie 15. století Czech Lexicography of the 15th Century Abstract The thesis deals with Czech medieval lexicography. Based on research into rich manuscript material totalling over 350 items, it describes the development of Czech lexicography from Czech glosses in foreign-language texts and first Latin-Czech glossaries to the flourishing Czech lexicography of the 15th century covering both Latin-Czech, Czech-Latin and multilingual lexicographical works and also infrequently attested Czech monolingual dictionaries. The high number of lexicographical works is divided according to formal and content criteria. With respect to form and macrostructure we discern Czech glosses in Latin and Latin-German glossaries, a bilingual glossaries with Czech as one of the languages, alphabetaries and nomenclators and glossaries lacking an ordering criterion. With respect to the content we distinguish large dictionaries covering as many lexical items as possible on one hand and short glossaries covering only a narrowly delimited part of vocabulary on the other hand. The lexicographical works are supplied with a short description which is in case of short and yet unedited works complemented by an edition using transcription.
