Hungary 1956: from a reform of socialism to a national uprising
Adamec, Jan ; Vojtěchovský, Ondřej (advisor) ; Pelikán, Jan (referee) ; Irmanová, Eva (referee)
Jan Adamec, Hungary 1956: from a reform of socialism to a national uprising Dizertační práce Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav světových dějin, Praha, 2015 Abstract The theses aims to analyze the crisis of the Hungarian Communist regime in 1956. It begins with the internal party struggle between Prime Minister Imre Nagy and First Secretary Matyás Rákosi in 1953-1955. Khrushchev's destalinisation initiative in 1956 triggered a new wave of conflicts. The crisis within the Communist Party was then deepened by the demise of Rákosi and the installation of Ernő Gerő as his successor in July 1956 and the emotionally charged reburial of László Rajk. The crisis coincided with grave economic shortages and rising dissatisfaction in the countryside. Encouraged Hungarian students organized demonstrations on 23 October 1956 that grew into mass riots against the regime. New agents that then played a key role in the events in question entered the political arena. Firstly, the Soviet army intervened on behalf of the Hungarian Communist leadership; however, it failed to restore order or suppress the mass movement. Secondly, dozens of guerrilla-like insurgent groups fought enthusiastically against the Soviets. Khrushchev contemplated postponing the use of military force for a brief period of time;...
Logos in Aristotle's ethics
Adamec, Jaromír ; Špinka, Štěpán (advisor) ; Thein, Karel (referee)
The aim of the diploma theses "Logos in Aristotle Ethics" is to interpret meaning of the term "logos" in Aristotle's work "Nicomachean Ethics". The basic methodical guideline is the structuralist assumption, that a meaning of a term is determined by its relations to other terms contained within the text, and the related assumption of unity of the meaning of the term "logos". The interpretation itself first analyzes structure of several crucial terms, most importantly the relation of a human individual to the society, the concepts of the good, the reality and the possibility, the true and the illusory, and the concept of the natural. The structure of use of the term "logos" is then analyzed in relation to these concepts. These investigations are completed by analysis of the terms of virtue and action. By the means of the structural analysis of these terms, the existence of a distinctive level of reality is established, which is captured by the term "humanity". The existence of humanity is the central point of interest in Aristotle's ethics. In the horizontal regard, there are two poles of humanity - the individual human and the society. In the vertical regard, the humanity is situated between divinity, to which it is related, and bestiality, to which it threatens to fall. Logos is then a kind of...
New groups of potential antibuberculotics
Adamec, Jan ; Waisser, Karel (advisor) ; Lešetický, Ladislav (referee) ; Čižmárik, Jozef (referee)
9. Summary This work is focused on the synthesis and biological evaluation of the derivatives of 1-aryl-5-(benzylsulphanyl)tetrazole and group of hybrid molecules of estrone. It has been found before that alkylsulphanyl group bound to an electron deficient carbon of heterocyclic system represents a pharmacophore responsible for a significant antimycobacterial activity. It has been reported that some antimycobacterial compounds are often antifungal as well. The study is subdivided into three parts. The first one compares the antimycobacterial activity of a group of derivatives of 1-aryl-5-(alkylsulphanyl)tetrazole derivatives (where ethyl, propyl, iso-propyl or allyl stands for the alkyl) and 1-aryl-5-(benzylsulphanyl)tetrazole. The benzyl derivatives exhibited significantly better activity, which was further confirmed by the QSAR analysis. Concerning the group of benzyl derivatives, it was observed that, substitution on the benzyl moiety leads to lower activity. The second studied subject was the antifungal activity of the prepared 1-aryl-5-(benzylsulphanyl)tetrazoles evaluated on eight clinically important fungal strains. The activity was negligible with the exception of Trichophyton mentagrophytes. By means of QSAR analysis, it was found out in the studied group that the increase in the lipophility causes...
Comparison of Fixed Tangible and Intangible Assets in accordance with IFRS and Czech Legal Regulation
Adamec, Jakub ; Stárová, Marta (advisor) ; Lörinczová, Enikö (referee)
Bachelor thesis Comparison of Fixed Tangible and Intangible Assets in accordance with IFRS and Czech Legal Regulation is focuses on classification and valuation of tangible and intangible assets according to both methodologies. Bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and analytical part. The theoretical part defines basic principles of valuation, classification, and amortization of the tangible and intangible assets under IFRS and Czech accounting legislation. The analytical part of the thesis consists of two model examples. The first example focuses on the difference measurement and recognition of fixed assets in the event of distribution of payments for long-term assets into three payments at different times. The second example focuses on a comparison of intangible assets in the event that the technical improvements, along with licenses to use intangible assets.
Mixed forests and its practical use for forest management
Adamec, Jiří ; Janda, Pavel (advisor) ; Mrhalová, Hana (referee)
This Bachelor thesis focuses primarily onmixed forests and their practical use for forest management. It deals with forests both in Central Europe and the Czech Republic. Issues related to forests and the effect of different influences on them, are the subject of a variety of scientific papers. Obtained knowledgeabout mixed forests could help us better understand the increasingly emerging climate change. The main factors are temperature, rapidly changing in the recent years, and the changes in average total annual precipitation and varying amounts of gases in the air. The actual composition of the mixed forests and the individual characteristics of trees have to be also taken into account. An increased incidence of pests and diseases of trees and proliferating pests that may be affected both by climate change ortree species in the stands. This paper presents the possible conversion of spruce monocultures into mixed stands It contains a lot of knowledge from various scientific papers whose main points are summarized in a form of literature review and could lead to improved conditions of our forests.

Bachelor's project deals with the kinds of numerical analysis of electromagnetic fields in induction motor with squirrel cage. The main method used is the method of finite elements. The aim of the bachelor project is to analyze induction motor with squirrel cage in the Ansoft Maxwell.
Application for Practicing Rapid Typing Techniques
Adamec, Jaroslav ; Polok, Lukáš (referee) ; Herout, Adam (advisor)
This thesis considers the technique of practicing touch typing method on keyboard. Final program is based on this method and is trying to teach users the touch typing method. Program is using technique of text rewriting without the cursor, which would mark user's position in text. Another programs tested in this thesis are using cursor. To reach more real situation program shows the real physical size of A4 paper format. Program contains Levenshtein distance algorithm to compare source and target string. Final program was distributed to users and their reaction were written down and analysed.
