Jan Adamec: Maďarsko 1956: od reformy socialismu k národnímu povstání Dizertační práce Univerzita Karlova v Praze, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav světových dějin, Praha, 2015 Abstrakt Práce se zabývá krizí maďarského komunistického režimu během roku 1956. Začíná exkurzem do období Nového kurzu a následného vnitrostranického boje mezi premiérem Imre Nagyem a prvním tajemníkem ÚV MSP Matyásem Rákosim v letech 1953-1955. Práce pak pokračuje obdobím tzv. destalinizace, iniciované prvním tajemníkem ÚV KSSS Nikitou S. Chruščevem. Krizi maďarské komunistické strany pak prohloubily Rákosiho demise, nástup Ernőa Gerőa v červenci 1956 a rehabilitace obětí vnitrostranických čistek. Politická krize se zároveň odehrávala v kontextu vážných ekonomických problémů a rostoucí nespokojenosti na venkově. Dne 23. října uspořádali studenti v Budapešti a dalších maďarských městech demonstrace, které přerostly do masových protirežimních nepokojů. Zasáhly proti nim sovětské jednotky, které v rámci krizového managementu nařídilo do Budapešti povolat sovětské vedení. Tato první intervence však nedokázala rodící se hnutí potlačit a obnovit moc stávajícího vedení. Především v Budapešti vznikla řada povstaleckých skupin a v celé zemi postupně vznikaly revoluční výbory, jejichž cílem byl především dosáhnout odchodu sovětských jednotek ze... It begins with the internal party struggle between Prime Minister Imre Nagy and First Secretary Matyás Rákosi in 1953-1955. Khrushchev's destalinisation initiative in 1956 triggered a new wave of conflicts. The crisis within the Communist Party was then deepened by the demise of Rákosi and the installation of Ernő Gerő as his successor in July 1956 and the emotionally charged reburial of László Rajk. The crisis coincided with grave economic shortages and rising dissatisfaction in the countryside. Encouraged Hungarian students organized demonstrations on 23 October 1956 that grew into mass riots against the regime. New agents that then played a key role in the events in question entered the political arena. Firstly, the Soviet army intervened on behalf of the Hungarian Communist leadership; however, it failed to restore order or suppress the mass movement.
