Šťastná, Monika ; Michálek, Pavel (advisor) ; Hocková, Jana (referee)
In the presented diploma thesis I deal with the issue of proper insertion of short-term central venous catheters, adherence to procedures by medical and non-medical staff according to CDC guidelines 2011 during insertion and subsequent treatment in intensive care in a faculty-type medical facility. The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine the occurrence of complications, especially infectious, the level of adherence to recommended procedures in practice according to 2011 CDC guidelines, central venous catheter manipulation, comparison of real activities with recommendations and mapping the level of knowledge of non-medical staff about short-term central venous catheters. The theoretical part deals with the importance of clinical guidelines, central venous catheter in general, complications associated with the central venous catheter and prevention of infectious complications of invasive inputs. For the empirical part of the diploma thesis, a prospective non- randomized observational study of cannulation and possible complications associated with a short- term central venous catheter according to CDC 2011 guidelines was chosen to determine real procedures for insertion, treatment and removal of a short-term central venous catheter. This was supplemented by an exploratory questionnaire survey of...

This project is focused on lead-free piezoelectric ceramics which are meda in CEITEC. Behaviour of these ceramics is quite different from the lead one. The first part is dedicated to dielectrics and its polarisation techniques. These techniques also include the piezoelectric effect which occurs only in crystals without central symmetry. The following part is focused on piezoelectric materials, piezoelectric polymers and piezoelectric ceramics respectively. The next section of the project is dedicated to the design of an experimental workplace for direct measurement of the piezoelectric charge coefficient đť‘‘33. The experimental part of the work is focused on electric characterisation of lead-free piezoceramics.
The concept of missing nursing care at the department of intensive medicine
Šťastná, Michaela ; Vaňková, Milena (advisor) ; Dynáková, Šárka (referee)
The concept of a missing nursing care in a nursing practice is a phenomenon that could endanger patients' safety in all cultures. This global deficit of a superior and comprehensive nursing care occurs in various departments of healthcare facilities. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with problematic aspects of the concept of a missing nursing care based on theoretical findings. Furthemore it summarises strategies used for ensuring that quality, safety and kompetence in a nursing care is met in relation to latest findings and the legislation. The research part presents outcomes of a conducted qualitative survey research focusing on nurses working in an Intensive Care Unit where a nursing care is directed towards the population of adult patients. Research Metodology: The data collection in the study is based on a semi-structured interview conducted on an actively working group of nine Intensive Care Unit nurses. Aim of the Study: The main objective of the thesis is to describe and analyse problematic aspects of the concept of a missing nursing care in an Intensive Care Unit, as well as to identify factors that affect occurrence of the given concept limited to the nursing staff in the Intensive Care Units. Research Results: The study analyses six categories in total, of which five categories...
Nutritional benefit of cricket flour
Šťastná, Martina ; Zemanová, Jana (referee) ; Němcová, Andrea (advisor)
Edible insects have been part of the diet of many countries across the world for several decades. It is becoming increasingly popular in the europian developed countries, mainly because of the content of nutritionally important substances. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characterization of edible insects in terms of nutritional benefits, explains the reasons and method of breeding edible insects. For the analysis of nutritionally active substances, flour of house cricket (Acheta domesticus) was used. A. domesticus belongs to the representatives of insects legalized from 1.1. 2018 on the EU market. Of the significantly nutritional substances, proteins, lipids, fatty acids, fiber and selected minerals were analyzed. In this study, optimalization of vertical electrophoresis SDS-PAGE was performed to determine protein fragment sizes. In the second part the influence of acricket flour addition protein bars was investigated by sensory analysis. In the experimental part that was found that cricket flour contains protein, lipids and fatty acids in significant amounts. It also contains important minerals for human health such as magnesium, potassium, iron or zinc. However, the sensory properties of protein bars for consumers were not very attractive.
Prediction of selected personality characteristics based on digital records publicly available on the Internet.
Šťastná, Markéta ; Stehlík, Luděk (advisor) ; Niederlová, Markéta (referee)
This master thesis investigates linkage between personality characteristics and digital records on the Internet. The theoretical part is focused on selected theories of personality traits, brief description of social networks and on current studies connected with relationship between digital records and personality characteristics. Empirical research is dedicated to test interdependences between user profiles at the LinkedIn and Hogan's MVPI and HDS using the research sample (N=238, after reduction N=129 due to limited number of LinkedIn users). Based on LinkedIn data which were reduced to 6 new variables, results describe statistically significant models predicting scores for some scales of MVPI and HDS. However, maximum adjusted R2 was only 15,5% for the best regression model which was predicting Altruistic scale (MVPI).
The role of the Msx1 transcription factor in the intestinal epithelia and colorectal cancer
Šťastná, Monika ; Kořínek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pergner, Jiří (referee) ; Doubravská, Lenka (referee)
The Wnt signaling pathway represents the principal evolutionarily conserved signaling cascade found in all multicellular organisms. It plays a key role not only in many processes during embryogenesis, but also in maintaining tissue homeostasis and regeneration. By contrast, mutations in genes encoding components of the pathway often result in increased activation of Wnt signaling and underlie onset of many human diseases, particularly cancer. The canonical Wnt signaling pathway is essential for proliferation and maintenance of the pluripotent state of intestinal stem cells and thus for homeostatic renewal of the intestinal epithelium. However, aberrant (hyper)activation of the Wnt signaling pathway is the initial step in development of intestinal neoplasia. Understanding the causes and identifying the consequences of the Wnt signaling hyperactivation is crucial for deciphering mechanisms leading to malignant transformation. Although the canonical Wnt signaling pathway has been the subject of scientific studies for several decades, all regulatory mechanisms and consequences of its hyperactivation have not been completely elucidated yet. During my PhD studies, I focused on understanding function(s) of some components and target genes of this signaling cascade. In this theses, results of my first...
European Countryside and its Perception. Book of Abstracts
Zapletalová, Jana ; Vaishar, A. ; Šťastná, M.
Rural area was traditionally connected with agriculture. To compare with urban, rural areas were considered to be backwarded, retarded, not worthy of an intensive research. But the situation has changed during the last years. Although cities are still centres of development within the globalization process, people in Europe abandon them as a result of the trends of suburbanization, counter-urbanization, naturbanization. We intend to pay our attention on transformation trends of the European countryside where focusing on more processes occurring there as: transformation from productive to non-productive function, from central planned to the market oriented countryside, from the mono-functional to the multifunctional one, from the national to European and globalized scale. Such a transformation generates many impacts on natural, economic and social processes occurring \nin present European countryside. Their combination creates a set of different countryside types.
Nutritional problems in patients with chronic graft-versus-host disease after allogeneic transplantation of hematopoietic cells
Michková, Petra ; Šťastná-Marková, Markéta (advisor) ; Novák, František (referee)
Introduction: Graft versus host disease (GVHD) is a serious medical complication following allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo HSCT). It causes immunodeficiency and several organ damage and decreases survival time at two years after a transplantation. A nutritional intervention should be applied just before the transplantation, because a nutritional status significantly influences the post-transplant complications. A risk of malnutrition or metabolic syndrome can be assessed by several markers. A combination of laboratory, anthropometric, biometric and physical data is suitable for this purpose. In addition, a subjective questionnaire regarding eating habits and physical activity of the patients can be used. Objectives: This thesis deals with the patients with chronic GVHD (cGVHD) following the allo HSCT. The objective was to describe a nutritional status of the patients, to find out in which way a long-term immunosuppressive treatment affects a body composition and to describe the eating habits and the physical activity of these patients. Methods: 31 patients with GVHD and 24 patients after allo HSCT without GVHD participated in the research. A body composition (using bioelectrical impedance) and selected laboratory parameters in patients were assessed. A subjective health...
