Reza Shah's Reforms Reflected in Memoirs of Socially and Politically Engaged Women

The aim of the thesis is to reflect on selected modernization reforms of Reza Shah in the first period of the Pahlaví dynasty (1925-1941) from the point of view of women who studied, started families and tried to work in this period. The basic source is women's memoirs published in 2018 in Iran, by Noushin Ahmadi Khorasani. The thesis examines the reaction of women to the Shah's reforms, the consequences of social changes and, more generally, a role these women played in the process of modernization of Iran. The reforms that the work focuses on are related to the position of women in society and have had an immediate impact on their lives: for example, amendments to family laws, education, job opportunities, social activities and the type of clothing. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part examines the political and economic background of Iran in the second half of the 19th century and in the early 20th century until the 1940s. It also discusses Reza Shah's government and its plans and reforms for modernizing Iran, and finally the living conditions of Iranian women during this period. Magical charms, amulets and rituals of Bakhtiyari tribe

The bachelor thesis deals with forms of folk magic in Iran with a focus on the Bakhtiyari tribe. It focuses on protection and healing magic in connection with the belief in evileyeand other negative influences. The first part of the work is based on information obtained from the study of literature, briefly characterizes the development of magic in Iran and describes protective and healing methods associated with belief in enchantment in Islam, from which some of today's forms of folk magic have established themselves. The second, exploratory part contains examples of the results of a survey among members of the Bakhtiyari tribe. The aim of the work is to present the rituals and itemsthat the Bakhtiyari use to protect against enchantment, negative situations or to treat the consequences of these external influences. Saudi Arabia-Iran conflict and its reflection in Iranian media

This bachelor thesis focuses on the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran from the Iranian agencies' point of view, in the years 2015 and 2016. In this period, three of the most important incidents that impacted diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran took place. These were Hajj 2015, the execution of Shi'a cleric Nimr al-Nimr in 2016, and an attack on the Saudi embassy and consulate in Iran in 2016. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate how Iran portrays Saudi Arabia in the media, with the aim of establishing its own geopolitical superiority in the Persian Gulf. This will be achieved through analysing 27 selected journalistic texts, as well as examining their intensity and frequency. Selected articles will be drawn from websites of Iranian news agencies, such as IRNA, Isna, and Mehr. These are the most important news agencies in Iran. IRNA is the official news agency and is funded by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Isna was established by students in order to highlight university affairs. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the constitutional system of the Islamic Republic of Iran, specificially on its historical genesis, theoretical fundaments and real performance. The first chapter deals with constitutionally formative aspects in chronological historical perspective which stood behind the creation of the contemporary constitutional system of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this part of the thesis, aspects which played a significant role in the development of Iranian constitutionalism in each era of Iranian history are identified starting with Safavid era, through Qajar period, Constitutional Revolution and the rule of Pahlavi dynasty until the events of the Islamic Revolution and the Constitutional Revision of 1989. The second chapter is dedicated to the Iranian Constitution itself. It works with the characteristics, structure and text of the Constitution with the focus on the particular legal concepts while evaluating these aspects via the law in books perspective, which is the perspective portraying concrete legal system in its formal extent, how it's meant by the diction of the legal text. Late Qajar Era and its Reflection in the Novel of Siyahat-nameh-ye Ebrahim Beg The bachelor thesis is concerned on Siyahat-nameh-ye Ebrahim Beg, the work of Persian writer Zayn al-'Abedin Maraghe'i. Prose written in the form of fictional travelogue and characterized by sharp criticism of social, political and cultural conditions of Persian society of the late Qajar era, attracted attention amongst Persia on the eve of 19th and 20th century with its strong call for reformism became an important argumentation in the dispute over modernity and tradition on the eve of constitutional revolution of 1905-1911. The presented thesis is an attempt - on the basis of critical analysis - to explore significance od Maragheh's opus, considered as one of the first fiction with satirical-critical elements in Persian literature. Immigrant Experiences Raflected by Iranian Authors Living in the USA

This dissertation seeks to capture immigrant experiences reflected by Iranian authors living in the USA. The main objective of this literary-historical work is to explore the literary devices used by chosen authors to capture immigrants' memories in selected works of prose. The central theme is the issue of identity, particularly the authors' attitude towards Iran and the USA, and the reflection of individual and collective immigrant identity in the works. Another aim is to show whether the tendency to preserve the Iranian, American or Iranian-American identity prevails. Other tasks also include an identification of bilingual specifics in selected works and consideration of its impact on comprehensiveness of the text. To achieve the purpose of this dissertation, mostly autobiographical or semi-autobiographical literary works were selected, analyzed and interpreted. Relations in the Iranian Diaspora and interaction of Iranian characters with Americans were also scrutinized. Transformation of Wedding Traditions in Contemporary Iran

This bachelor thesis focuses on the transformation of Iranian wedding traditions in contemporary Iran and also deals with the impact of the West on these customs and traditions that accompany nuptial and pre-nuptial ceremonies. The thesis consists both of a theoretical- descriptive part and a research done via Internet in the form of questionnaires and interviews. The aim of the thesis is to find out how much the Western society and its culture affect Iranian weddings and discover current trends in this field. The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the reader to the topic and explains the reasons of author for choosing the topic. The second chapter deals with the development of the position of women in Iranian society with focus on its transformation in the 20th century. The Bachelor's thesis is focused on the description of Persia in the travelogue of Franciscan monk Odoric of Pordenone who travelled to Persia at the beginning of 14th century. The first chapter describes political and social environment in Persia under the rule of Mongol dynasty of Ilkhanids. The second chapter deals with Roman Catholic Church and missions that were send to Persia and Mongolia. The main body of the thesis is focused on the life of Odoric and his travelogue. The next chapters deal with every mention of Persia in Odoric's travelogue and compare it with works written in the same époque of history. The main goal of the work is to judge whether Odoric's travelogue can be consider as a good source of knowledge of Ilkhanids' Persia.
