The Bachelor's thesis is focused on the description of Persia in the travelogue of Franciscan monk Odoric of Pordenone who travelled to Persia at the beginning of 14th century. The first chapter describes political and social environment in Persia under the rule of Mongol dynasty of Ilkhanids. The second chapter deals with Roman Catholic Church and missions that were send to Persia and Mongolia. The main body of the thesis is focused on the life of Odoric and his travelogue. The next chapters deal with every mention of Persia in Odoric's travelogue and compare it with works written in the same époque of history. The main goal of the work is to judge whether Odoric's travelogue can be consider as a good source of knowledge of Ilkhanids' Persia. Bakalárska práca sa zaoberá vykreslením dobovej Perzie v cestopisnom diele františkánskeho mnícha Oldřicha z Pordenone, ktorý cestoval do Perzie na začiatku 14. storočia. Úvodná kapitola popisuje politické a spoločenské podmienky v Perzii v období vlády mongolskej dynastie Ílchánov. Nasledujúca kapitola sa rozsiahlejšie venuje katolíckej cirkvi a misiám, ktoré boli vysielané do Perzie a Mongolska. Hlavná časť práce sa zaoberá Oldřichovým životopisom a samotným cestopisom. V príslušných kapitolách sú rozoberané jednotlivé zmienky o Perzii v Odorikovom cestopise a je posúdená ich pravdivosť a platnosť v porovnaní s dielami podobného typu, ktoré vznikli v rovnakom časovom období. Hlavným výsledkom práce je posúdenie, či môže byť Odorikov cestopis považovaný za zdroj poznania ílchánovskej Perzie.
