Parents', teachers' and day care center staff view on possibility of placing two-year-old children in nursery schools

1 ABSTRACT The diploma work titled "The parents', teachers' and day care center staff view on possibility of placing two-year-old children in nursery schools" analyzes the specifics and problems of today's families with young children. It defines the concept of early childhood, describes a child's development at toddler age, and also characterizes today's toddler. The work is dedicated to the maturity of children for entry into nursery schools. Furthermore the diploma work describes the history and current problems of the care for children younger than three years in the Czech Republic in comparison with representative European countries. The diploma work is a survey focused on three categories of respondents' views on the possibility of inclusion of children from two years of age in nursery schools as a plan for future solution of the issue of systemic agenda of day care center for children under three years of age in the Czech Republic. The aim of the research was to find out how the surveyed parents, nursery workers and preschool teachers perceive the possibility of inclusion of two-year-old children in pre-primary educational institutions and whether today's two-year-old children are ripe for entry into nursery schools. Child before the third year in a family and nursery

I focuse my dissertation on the differences in the behaviour of the child in a family and nursery. In the theoretical part is devoted to the definition of family, its development, function and the present form of the family. Another important part of the work is the study of peculiarities of children under the age of three from the perspective of ontogenetic psychology and get information about possibilities of day care for children under three years. For practical part is main case study of the observed child, wich was created by long- term observation and interview with mother. To compare was used the observation in nursery. Preparratory class: Step into a successful start in elementary school

The thesis "preparatory classes": on the theoretical end, a step into a successful start in elementary school aims on acquainting the reader with the preschool age of a child, providing information about school maturity and readiness of children for entry into primary school, and at last, familiarizing the reader with the reasons for suspension of school attendance as well as undestanding the significance of preparatory classes under the lead of elementary schools providing them. The objective of this research is to familiarize the reader with one particular preparatory class and that is the one under the conduct of The Elementary School U Říčanského lesa. This diploma thesis is trying to ascertain if this preparatory class is a step to a succesful take -off to elementary school, mapping the overall content of its childrens parents whose children attend this preparatory class. A capabalities test and interview were used to validate the thesis.

Issue of relationship between family and kindergarten

This thesis deals with the relationship between family and kindergarten. It is mainly focused on communication, through which there is a mutual interaction and relationship builded between teachers and parents. In the communication both actors must strive for the best possible cooperation, since only in this case they can reach their common goal, which is the smooth development and overall development of the child's personality. The theoretical part defines the concept of communication. It analyzes current family and nursery schools as an institution and deals with the relations between them. It also mentions the conflict and some types of barriers that can lead to difficulties in the interaction. The practical part is based on research done through questionnaires which was aimed to teachers and parents. The result presents their subjective evaluation of communication.

Communication competences in kindergarten curriculum

The thesis focuses on a concept of communicative competences in the curricula at the stage of pre-school education and introduces the possibilities of development of these competences in kindergarten. The theoretical part outlines issues of curriculum, key competences and communicative competences in the context of pre-primary education. The research is a presentation of qualitative-quantitative research, which aimed to analyze the concept of communicative competences in the curricula of kindergartens and based on direct observation to find out, how kindergarten teachers meet the communicative competences at this stage of education, how to diagnose them and what opportunities provides kindergarten environment to develop pre-school children communication competences. Based on the analysis of curriculum documents of selected kindergartens we found that schools include communicative competences in their conceptual materials and attach great importance to them, even if these documents have different content and formal level. Anotace: Práce se zabývá problematikou jeslí z hlediska základního zajištění provozu a podmínek pro poskytování odborné, přiměřené a hodnotné péče o děti do tří let. Respecting needs of preschool children in nursery schools operating under different curricula

The Thesis is devoted to the comparison of respecting children needs in Czech nursery schools and British nursery schools in the Czech Republic. It is concerned with the Czech statutory framework called Rámcový vzdělávací program pro předškolní vzdělávání and the British document called the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage. Using content analysis the work examines both the documents and determines their approaches to satisfy needs of children. The second part of the research, conducted through observation, is figuring out how needs according to the Maslow A. are met in the practise of these nurseries. The content analysis and observation is used to discern whether the practise of the nurseries corresponds with their educational program in the area of satisfying children needs.

Zoorehabilitation in process of education

This thesis deals with breeding and visiting programs with animals (options, reasons, positives and negatives, evaluation of parents and staff) in kindergartens in the two most populous regions in the Czech Republic. Further it provides an in depth analysis of influence of selected invertebrate animals on preschool children in two specified kindergartens and looks into parent's attitudes and evaluation of animal breeding in the chosen classes. It is a combinated empirical applied research whose methods are directly participated unstructured observation of individuals or groups, video recording, explorative method - questionnaire (for the children's parents in the class and for the kindergartens) and analysis of qualitative data from the questionnaires and evaluation of the results. The thesis is divided into three parts according to the target group on which the research is focused. Both the results and the specified literature confirm the importance of continuous presense of animals in the proximity of preschool aged children in several areas of their personality development (emotions, environmental feelings, communication, motivation, responsibility, thoughtfulness, concentration, attention, senses, interest, calming down, cognition - the cycle of life and animal characteristics).
