Small-scale Projects of Euroregion Nisa- Neisse- Nysa as a new Dimension of Cross-border Cooperation

Michaela Dvořáková ABSTRACT The primary aim of the Diploma Thesis is to introduce an interest association called euroregion, which is a relatively new form of cross-border cooperation. The core part of the paper is dedicated to Euroregion Neisse-Nisa-Nysa. This association is studied from different perspectives, which embrace its foundation, development, legal definition, organization structure, financing, institutional interests, purpose and mainly the issue of Small Project Fund. The practical part of the thesis is focused on the analysis of amount of finances, cooperating subjects and the number of realized projects in individual subsidy programmes, in which the Small Project Fund participated. The preference of Czech municipalities on small projects is supported with an analysis and closing questionnaire survey.
Comparison of the Programmes of the Green Party in the Federal Republic of Germany, Austria and the Czech republic in the years 1990 - 2014

This thesis compares the electoral programmes of green political parties in the Federal Republic of Germany, the Republic of Austria, and the Czech Republic in the years 1990- 2014, namely the German party Alliance '90/The Greens, the Austrian party The Greens - The Green Alternative, and the Czech Green Party. The beginning of the work provides an explanation of the concepts related to green politics, such as ecology, environmentalism, environment and sustainable development, whose knowledge is essential for understanding the major themes of the electoral programmes. Subsequently, the origin and history of all three political parties are outlined. The actual comparison is performed in a twofold manner. The first one compares the content of a specific programme with the previous ones and the second one compares the programmes of all three green parties for the same or the close electoral period. Furthermore, the format of individual programmes is characterized. Attention is focused on the major thematic areas, similarities and differences, and on the position of these parties before and after a particular parliamentary election being held.
Liberal political thought in the works of Karel Havlíček Borovský

This bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of political thought in the works of Karel Havlíček Borovský - the founder of political journalism in Bohemia. It tries to prove that there's good reason to deal with Havlíček's personality as relevant part of European liberal thought in the 19th century. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first one describes history of liberal thought till the end of 19th century. The second part characterizes Havlíček's life and puts emphasis on his journalistic career. The third and also the main chapter analyses representative elements of Havlíček's liberal philosophy. The author is convinced that Havlíček can be regarded as one of few thinkers who stand at the beginning of the way to social liberalism.
History and development of ODA

This work deals with the development of the Civic Democratic Alliance, captures the most important moments in its development in relation to the development of Czechoslovakia and the Czech political scene since its inception in 1989 until dissolution in 2007. It describes ODA participation in government, the most important turning points in the history of the party and affairs which greatly affected it. Paper contains short biographies about most important personalities of ODA, as well as a brief explanation of some contemporary realities. A separate chapter presents the analysis and summary of ODA's election programs and characteristics of the party in terms of its organizational structure. The first part is a theoretical discussion of party systems, political parties and the most important ideologies. This helps to deepen the comprehending of the functioning of ODA and understanding its mission statement. Paper was written based on the study of materials available in political science almanacs and other publications, newspaper articles, and internal documents of ODA. Some problems have been personally consulted directly with former leaders and ordinary members of ODA. Media literacy as a mean of development of high school student's critical evaluation of political advertisment

This thesis is focused on the impact of media literacy in terms of the ability of high school students to interpret political advertisement. In the part of this thesis the reader will be introduced into the concepts of modern democracy and mass media as its important part especially, within the context of politics, in the pre-election period. The reader will be provided an insight into the issue of the influence of mass media on citizens who are exposed to the products of political marketing. Due to the focus on high school students, this thesis mentions research domestic one as well as international that puts together terms as politics- media-teenagers. The second part of this thesis is designed as a research aimed at the impact of media literacy on the students' skills to analyze a political advertisement as well as their civic attitudes. The research is conducted as a qualitative comparison of statements of the analytical abilities of students who took part in media literacy course with those who did not. Integration pupils from Muslim families to the educational process of physical education in elementary schools

Title of the thesis: Are children from Muslim families at a disadvantage during Physical Education lessons in primary schools? Keywords: migration, integration, multiculturalism, Muslim children, mainstreaming, inclusive physical education The aim of this research is to identify how children from Muslim families are at a disadvantage during Physical Education lessons in primary schools in the Czech Republic. In order to achieve the goal of this work, I used the quantitative method of collecting data by using an electronic survey available in four languages. The survey was completed by 66 Muslim parents and their children. The results show the problems of integrating pupils from Muslims families into the educational process of physical education in elementary schools in the Czech Republic. There are written recommendations in eleven problematic areas for physical education teachers, heads of PE departments and leaders of schools in order to more easily integrate Muslim pupils into the educational process of physical education in elementary schools in the Czech Republic.
MassMedia and Political Decision Making

The thesis explores the nature and function of mass media in society. It deals with the theoretical description, development and effects of mass media which can influence the recipient of media content. It presents a brief overview of the development of the photography, which is especially an important means of communication in the printed media. The work deals with the preparation techniques which can shape the media message. A substantial part of the work is devoted to political marketing, which is applied in political communication. The election campaings play an important role in the pre-election period because voters can gain the most information about the candidates. Thus, political parties set its own communication strategy and use media in the dissemination of its electoral programme. The thesis provides an analytical view of the political communication in the media and the influence on the content of news in the concept of agenda-setting. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the possible effects of mass media and political communication to the public in the electoral decision-making. TITLE: Student's understanding of politic concepts on secondary school ABSTRACT: This dissertation is focused on second grade pupils of elementary school how they understand the selected terms of political science. The aim of the dissertation is to diagnose the preconcepts of the pupils from two classes of the elementary schools with different social- economic conditions. The basics and terms of my work are presented in the first part: Constructivism, Preconcept , Pupil's conception of the curriculum. There is also an analysis of the political science curriculum of educational sphere Man and society RVP ZV. In the second part, there is a presentation of personal qualitative research of pupils' preconcepts, which was realised by method of structured dialog. 1 Abstract: The division of state authority ilustrated on the example of the Czech Republic and French Republic with the focus on the position of the head of the state Key words: separation of state authority, constitutional laws, the legislative, the executive, the judiciary, the head of state, presidential system, parliamentary system Abstrackt: This thesis addresses the historical separation of state authority which is illustrated on the example of the Czech Republic and French Republic, especially on the position of the head of the state. The goal is to identify the identical and differing characteristics of the presidential status of both republics. The thesis is divided into three chapters and into a sub-chapters. The first chapter explains the development of the decomposition of the state authority from the first theoretical thoughts to the practical incorporation into the political system. The Second chapter describes in separate sub-chapters, the division of the state authority in Czech Republic and France. Third chapter is dedicated to the position, mandate, election and the competencies of the head of the state in both countries. Subsequently the gathered information is summarized in a sub-chapter, where the identical and differing characteristics of both presidential functions is discussed.
