Activating methods in teaching psychology

The aim of this rigorous work it to create a didactic material orientated at the outline and utilisation of activating methods for teaching psychology and to validate pilotly what effects these activating methods have on a student of a secondary vocational school in teaching concerning cognitive, social, personal (developmental) and didactic areas. The pilot testing was proceeded in the first year at a secondary vocational school social care specialisation. The theoretical part deals with current questions of general didactics, a characterisation of psychology as a school subject, the outline of teaching methods with the emphasis on activating methods and their utilisation for teaching psychology and pedagogical-psychological characterisation of a student of a secondary school. Didactic sheets for teaching psychology were created on the base of theoretical knowledge. Psychology was taught according to these didactic sheets. A record from the point of view of a teacher was kept (field notes) and students by means of questionnaires called "Lessons feedback" evaluated individual educational units. Type of leading of the labour and its influence on mother-child relationship

V tomto typu studie jsem se pokusila provést orientační výzkum na téma vliv porodní situace na vztah matka-dítě. Zmapovala jsem klíčové teorie a koncepty tohoto tématu, provedla pilotní studii a zkoumala odpovědi na výzkumné otázky u dvou skupin matek vyčleněných na základě způsobu vedení porodu na matky, které rodily pod lékařským vedením a matky, které rodily tzv. "přirozeně". Na základě zvolených metod není možné výsledky zkoumání zobecnit ani na zkoumanou populaci. Nicméně došlo k otevření zkoumaného tématu na území ČR, což se dá považovat za přínos akademickému poznání.

Influence of liberty in upbringing on self-efficacy at preschool children

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the influence of liberty in upbringing on self-efficacy and resilience at preschool children. The theoretical part introduces the general grounds of the theme - resilience. Basic terms are also defined. The following chapter (chapter one) presents selected theoretical concepts of resilience, actual researches and related characteristics of personality. The second chapter exposes the concept of self-efficacy created by Albert Bandura. In this construct some of the elements presented in the previous chapter are associated. It is also well applicable to upbringing practices. The concept of self-efficacy has been chosen to serve as a theoretical framework of this paper. Third chapter deals with selected topics of upbringing such as demands, styles, trends and liberty in upbringing. It is focused on how various upbringing actions can raise the self-efficacy and resilience. The empirical part maps over the background in kindergartens by means of both quantitative and qualitative research. The aim is to define which opportunities of increasing self-efficacy are provided in kindergartens, in comparison to the family milieu. We are interested in degree of liberty given in kindergartens and in families.

The analysis of two-year old child's playing interaction in his family background

This rigorous thesis, "Playing Interactions of 2-Year-Old Child with His Family Members" (which is a part of grant's task number: 406101/0220, whose solver is Doc. PhDr. L. Sulova, CSc.) has two main parts. The theoretical part comprises four bigger chapters, the first one includes different aspects of the family theme, the second one deals with early child's interactions and relationships in his family, the third part focuses on toddler's development characteristics, the fourth part deals with child's play and playing interactions. Empirical part presents results of a research, which aim was to look into and compare (quantitatively and qualitatively) playing interactions of 2 year old child with his mother, father (possibly older sibling) in family. For the analysys of videorecording the computer program Y.I.P., which was developed for solving grant's task GA CR by Ing. T. Hrdlicka, was used. Some differences within single playing pairs and also within whole research group have emerged. The results are related only to the exploratory sample.

Current issues in didactics of psychology

Didaktice psychologie zatím není věnována velká péče. Tato rigorózní práce je možným příspěvkem do dané problematiky. Navazuje na diplomovou práci "Aktuální otázky didaktiky psychologie na středních školách" obhájenou v roce 2004, rozvíjí ji a rozšiřuje jak v části teoretické, tak praktické; zcela nová je část aplikovaná. Část ,-:eoreticko - praktická východiska tvoří nejduležitější aspekty výuky psychologie. V souladu se záměry práce jsme se snažili podchytit a zmapovat nejvýznamnější témata didaktiky odrážející se v pedagogickém procesu. Jedná se především o obecnou charakteristiku předmětu psychologie na ruzných typech škol, faktory ovlivňující výuku, metody a formy výuky, motivace, osobnost učitele, hodnocení či materiálnědidaktické prostředky. Snažili jsme se uchopit nejzákladnější teoretická témata mající dle našeho názoru největší vliv na kvalitu výuky předmětu. Chápeme, že problematika je jistě ještě obsáhlejší, ale domníváme se, že jsme vhodně vybrali nejpodstatnější aspekty. Empirická sonda má za cíl zmapovat situaci výuky psychologie na vybraných školách pomocí dotazníkové metody a rozhovoru a vyvodit z výsledku závěry, které by mohly posloužit k optimalizaci výuky psychologie.

Life without a father: gain and loss

The number of fatherless families has risen radically due to a high divorce rate and rigid court decisions about custody over children after divorce. Over the last few decades, psychological findings highlight specific contribution of the father to the development of a child. Fatherless families have been focused on by many researchers, trying to identify fields of negative impact of growing up without a father. However, the results are mixed and do not give clear answers, one of the main reasons being the methodological difficulty to control all the important variables such as reason and duration of the father's absence ar availability of surrogate male models. In this study we propose to identify cue areas that absent-father-people view as specific both in a positive and negative sense. The grounded theory method was used to analyze the data gathered by open interviews with people who have never lived with a father or a father surrogate. The following categaries revealed by a coding process are discussed - partner relationships (especially of girls), locus of control, personality of the mother and her educational style and impact of broader family or community.

Psychological aspects of the role of stepfather

Diploma thesis Psychological aspects of the role stepfather aims to map out the expanding phenomenon in contemporary society, which is the presence of stepfathers newly composed families. The theoretical part is based on foreign resources, and tries to bring the theoretical framework of the issue. First, from a wider perspective on the family in contemporary society, divorce and the impact of these changes on the family constellation. Subsequently, much more closely focused on the very topic of stepfathers. This task is not so easy, due to the limits of available information and realized studies dealing with this phenomenon. For this reason, it follows the empirical study aiming to outline the current situation of stepfathers. This study is based on interviews with respondents and points to the aspects of this particular family constellation.

Emotionality of children who experienced domestic violence in their families

This thesis studies a specific population of children exposed to domestic violence. The theoretical part is focused on the impacts of domestic violence on emotionality and emotional development of children. It also deals with the problematic aspects of children's emotionality that are believed to be disturbed by this traumatizing experience. These particular areas were chosen based on present studies focused on the children exposed to domestic violence. The empirical part of the study was developed in cooperation with the Locika centre. It studies chosen aspects of children's emotionality in a quantitative and qualitative way. Particularly, it investigates the ability to distinguish emotions and the ability of emotion regulation within the overall cognitive development.

Social relations in pubescent groups in diagnostic institutes

Předložená práce si klade za úkol přispět k poznání sociální struktury a dynamiky existující ve skupinách dětí zařazených do dětských diagnostických ústavů. Dále práce obsahuje model diagnostické a terapeutické práce odborného týmu diagnostil.:kt'ihu ústavu s dílětem, které je do zařízeni umístěno pro poruchy chování. Vychovné skupiny dětí v diagnostických ústavech jsou svým složením, zaměřením i funkčností výrazně speci1ické, stejně jako je specifické prostředí diagnostických ústavů obecně. Struktura výchovných skupin je značně proměnlivá v čase a závislá na aktuálním složení klientely. Odborný tým diagnostického ústavu klade důraz především na práci s dítětem v kontextu vztahů a interakcí v rámci vrstevnické skupiny, kde dochází k četným situacím s diagnostickým i terapeutickým potenciálem. I v rámci skupiny je ovšem třeba ke každému dítěti přistupovat individuálně,. s ohledem na jeho vývojovou úroveň, schopnosti a dovednosti. Hledání společných prvků a zákonitostí sociálních vztahů v takových skupinách proto není jednoduché a je třeba počítat s jistou otevřeností jeho závěrů. Ve snaze vytvořit model práce týmu diagnostického ústavu s umístěným dítětem klademe důraz na koordinaci odborných pohledů a individuální přístup k dítěti v rámci výchovné skupiny, a to ve snaze vytvořit pro něj během diagnostického...
