Mindset theory and its effect on motivation of university students

The aim of the thesis was to determine the relationships between growth and fixed mindsets and performance motivation in college students. The research sample involved 158 Czech college students (60.1 % female), with average age 23 years. The data were collected using a questionnaire battery involving Performance motivation questionnaire (LMI), Dweck's mindset theory questionnaire, and Meili's aspirational test. Statistical analysis using SPSS showed that the hypothesized correlation between a specific type of mindset and performance motivation was not confirmed in our sample. However, subsequent cluster analysis showed that the students could be categorized into four groups based on their different motivational profiles. The results of the cluster analysis corresponded with theoretical propositions of the Mindset Theory. Social Pedagogical Support of Female Shelter Clients

The aim of the thesis is to describe forms of social pedagogical support provided to the clients of women's shelter homes. It is a theoretical-empirical study aimed at extension of knowledge about the implementation of social pedagogical support in women's shelter homes. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the topic of social pedagogical support with a focus on helping professional, ethics of the profession and selected methods of social pedagogical support. Furthermore, there is described the issue of homelessness including the homelessness of women and the topic of shelter homes especially for women. The empirical part of the thesis describes the qualitative research focused on social pedagogical support provided in selected shelter homes for women in Prague. The research showed that provided support responds to specific problems of the clients. Help can have the character of support providing, educational activities or consulting and it is realized primarily through individual consultations. The aim of help is to achieve certain goals set by the client. The concept of helping is professional with emphasis on the quality of helping relationship, trust, respect and partnership approach. The Experience of Students with Different Mother Tongues with University Education in the Czech Republic

5 Abstract Diploma thesis "The Experience of students with a different mother tongues with a university education in the Czech Republic (the case of pedagogical disciplines)" deals with the problems of Higher education of foreign students at Czech universities. Notes the problems encountered by foreign students during their studies, including language and communication barriers. The aim of the theoretical part is to describe the possibility of access to tertiary education in the Czech Republic for foreign students. Also to describe the problems encountered by the students at the high school and on the territory of the Czech republic and also options how to help these students. The theoretical part is also focused on the scientific examination of the mastery of the mother tongue and the second language, and on the concept of the language barrier. Experimental determination of the relationship between NDT parameters and the compressive strength of concrete

The diploma thesis deals with non-destructive testing of concrete as well as with the relationship between determined parameters and the compressive strength of concrete. The thesis is mainly focused on the ultrasonic pulse velocity method and the rebound hammer test. The experimental part of the thesis describes non-destructive tests performed on concrete blocks. The compressive strength was tested on the drill cores taken from the concrete blocks. The aim of this thesis is to find regression models of the relationship between the compressive strength and non-destructive parameters, and the subsequent analysis of the results.

The diploma thesis called The non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and its role in the implementation of activities for children and youth from children's homes deals with the activities of the non-profit sector in a particular children's home. The thesis is theoretical-empirical. The theoretical part is based on scientific literature and provides basic information about institutional care in the Czech Republic and specific facilities for institutional care. It also includes the basic characteristics of the selected children's home in which the subsequent investigation was conducted. It also deals with the issue of children who have been raised in children's homes for a long time. Pedagogical aspects of the care of convicts in relation to the use of addictive substances

The thesis deals with the pedagogical aspects of the care for convicts in connection to the use of addictive substances. Its character is theoretical-empirical. The theoretical part is based on professional literature and legislation. It focuses on general information about the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, on the system and the concept of imprisonment, as well as the aspects of pedagogy in penitentiary care. In detail, the thesis deals with a specialized prison ward for convicts with behavioural disorders caused by the use of addictive substances, namely from the point of methodology, regulations, and individual terms such as drugs, professional treatment of convicts, and the course of the conditions of the therapeutic programme. The empirical part aims to find out the course of the rehabilitation of convicts in a specialized ward for convicts with behavioural disorders caused by the use of addictive substances, namely from the point of professional employees.
