Work of a school special educational advisor in a school counseling centre

This thesis concerns the profession of the school special educational advisorr working in a mainstream primary school and his acting in favor of pupils with learning difficulities. The theoretical part describes the group of pupils with whom the school special educational advisor works and possibilities of this work, the cooperation with other partners (teachers, professionals and institutions outside the school and pupils' parents ) in supporting those pupils and the three-stage model of care for pupils at risk in school development. The practical part in the form of qualitative research examines how school special educational advisors acting in primary schools in Prague see themselves in their profession. Book in the Preschooler's family

1 Abstract: This diploma thesis deals with the role of a book in a preschool child's family. The aim of the theoretical part is to point out the importance of a book reading to a pre-school child in a family and also to point out the importance of books, the position of children's literature in the multimedia world. The theoretical part also deals with the description of different kinds of books a child of this age may encounter and also with the demands on children's literature. Practical part deals with the interpretation of data gained through research lead in a form of half-structured interviews of a parent with a pre-school-age child. The survey observes books in a family in three areas: Book and the parent's own childhood, Current situation in adulthood and Current situation with the parent's own child. Emphasis is put especially on the situation with the parent's own child focused on the work with a book as a means of education, on the child's interest in books and reading, on the child's and parent's book choice and their library attendance. Importance of Psychological Support for to-be Mothers During Pregnancy and Childbirth

The thesis examines the importance of psychological support from a supplementary person provided to mothers during their pregnancy and mainly during the process of childbirth. Such person may be a partner, relative, midwife, doula, doctor, etc. The aim of this thesis is to find out why the mother chooses to give birth in the presence of the specific person, how important is the psychological (and sometimes also physical) support from an accompanying person for such woman during delivery, or what specific action the mother considers psychologically supportive during the pregnancy and childbirth. Theoretical part describes a psyche of the mum-to-be and her need for psychological support during the pregnancy and the delivery and names the types of support in relation to a person, who is supporting. Practical part will be based on qualitative research carried out as half-structured interviews with mothers, who delivered a baby with accompaniment. Dilemma of Choosing the Right University

The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to outline the choice of further education and future career possibilities of interviewed high school students. The research is dedicated to dilemma of choice, which means the students' decision process and to the factor specification, the latter of which due to their involvement influence the process itself. The first theoretical part explains used terms and chosen career theories. The next chapters deal with main factors influencing the students' decision-making process, motivation and specific motivation incentives, such as values and values orientation. The conclusion of theoretical part focuses on decision-making process and on the specific ways of decision-making. The main goal of the empirical part was not only to find out the course of decision-making process in relation to further education choice and career possibilities of questioned students, but also to identify particular factors influencing the students' choices. The empirical part concerns with the methodology of used research. The methodology is based on quantitative processing of fourteen semi-structured interviews. Children at integrational summer camp- their manifestations in behaviour and relations

This diploma thesis deals with behaviour and relationships on summer integrational camp, where children raised in family and children raised in residential care meet with each other. The aim of this thesis is to describe the difference between these groups from the viewpoint of unit counsellors (in the area of behaviour at the camp, relationship with the authority of counsellor and relationships between children) and explore mutual relationships in units, primarily ascertain the position of the children who were raised in residential care. The thesis is divided into theoretical and empirical part. In the first chapter of the theoretical part potential differences between children raised in family and children raised in residential care are analysed. The second chapter deals with summer camps and which aspects have influence on children's stay at camp. In the empirical part the qualitative research itself is presented, with the questionnaires for counsellors as the main data source. These questionnaires provide the information about observed areas regarding all the children on the camp, who are participants of the research. Self-esteem of university students with severe hearing disabilities

This paper deals with self-esteem of university students with hearing impairment. It primarily utilizes a qualitative approach that deals with the analysis of the statements of six respondents. Basic concepts related to self-esteem and an overview of current research are presented in the theoretical part of the paper. In the empirical part, a quantitative test (SLSC-R) is used. However, the main focus of the work lies in application and interpretation of the qualitative method - "authors' questionnaire". This work strives to find and describe factors which are believed to affect self-esteem of the respondents. The paper aims to be a contribution to the psychology of disability, for example, in identifying and describing areas that are believed to be useful for further research.
Peer relationships of children in early adolescence placed in foster home

TITLE: Peer relationships of children in early adolescence placed in foster home AUTHOR: Anna Rezkova DEPARTMENT: Department of Psychology SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Pavla Presslerova, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The bachelor's thesis is focused on peer relationships of early adolescents, who were placed in a foster home. The thesis is divided in two parts. The theoretical part deals with adolescence as the stage of human development, with different types of adolescents' relationships with peers and moreover with institutional care and its impact on child's personality. The empirical part includes a description of the methodological design and presentation and interpretation of results. The discussion compares and puts into context the results with theoretical concepts introduced in the first part. The main aim of the thesis is a probe mapping the form of peer relationships of early adolescents placed in a foster home. The thesis also ascertains whether the peers are for clients of the foster home a source of social support. This was proven. It was found that early adolescents placed in the foster home Dolni Pocernice prefer to establishing relationships with peers outside of the institutional environment. Family in After-Divorce Adaptation Process, in the Context of Child Protect and Safeguarding Department: Case study, Consultancy Work from Psychologist's Point of View

Post-divorce adaptation is still very current topic, especially in connection with potential impacts of divorce on children's psychological development. This thesis analyses, in the case study form, post-divorce adaptation course at particularly families and consultancy interventions provided by Child Protect and Safeguarding Department with a psychologist in the team. The theoretical part describes post-divorce adaptation process in both children and parents and analyses their relation. It contains also considerations about the discourse of Czech children after divorce care, which is reflected, beside others, in discussions about alternate care and parental alienation syndrome. The practical part processes the cases in which I participated in the framework of my consultancy work at Child Protect and Safeguarding Department. The analysis of case material is executed in three phases, aimed at sequential generalization of post-divorce adaptation and consultancy intervention knowledge. The analysis structure copies the theoretical part structure; i.e. reflects children's and parents' points of view and general family-relationship's dynamics.
