Starting points for a new physics curriculum
Kolář, Petr ; Žák, Vojtěch (advisor)
This thesis presents starting and supporting points for a new secondary school physics curricu- lum and the methodology which was used. The research design was inspired mainly by the objectivist grounded theory. 29 in-depth semistructured interviews were conducted with elite Czech physicists and there were identified 79 ideas about a secondary school physics curricu- lum. After approximately two years, 56 ideas were used in the questionnaire survey where re- spondents expressed on a Likert scale their degree of agreement with the ideas. Respondents were natural scientists (non-physicists), experts on didactics of physics, secondary school phys- ics teachers and 26 of 29 physicists who were also participants of the interviews. In the ques- tionnaire survey, there were identified ideas on which all groups of respondents agreed and which are stable in time in the group of physicists.
Education to Humanity
Kolář, Petr ; Koťa, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Strouhal, Martin (referee)
(in English): The main goal of the diploma thesis is to interpret the educational ideals in a relationship to the issues of education for humanity and to point out the importance of today's neglected reflection of humanity in education. Eugen Fink says that today's education for humanity has turned into a mere education for a profession. What is the historical development of his antinomy? What is its ontological essence? Education for humanity is opposed to education, which is a technique or means of forming a person in the service of power. Such education is nurtured by the phenomenon of modern technology, which Heidegger called Gestell. It permeates human thinking and action through system planning and the action of organizational and bureaucratic structures. It is characterized by the objectification of man, forgetfulness of being, calculating thinking, non-perception of context, loss of identity and freedom, etc. The practical part of the thesis presents the course and results of research on the perception of Gestell by pedagogical staff. How do entities such as freedom, happiness, dignity, manipulation, fear, subordination, fulfillment, meaning, technology perceive?

Topical issues of corporate governance in Czech and Community regulation
Kolář, Petr ; Čech, Petr (advisor) ; Černá, Stanislava (referee)
Current Corporate Governance Issues in the Czech and EU Law In 2003 The European Commission released a paper entitled Modernising Company Law and Enhancing Corporate Governance in the European Union - A Plan to Move Forward. The document outlined a short-, medium- and long- term plans for enhancing corporate governance. Strengthening shareholders' rights has been one of its objectives. Following the plan, The Directive 2007/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on the exercise of certain rights of shareholders in listed companies was enacted on 11 July 2007. It has been transposed into the Czech legal system in the law 420/2009 Sb. which came into force on 1st December 2009. The directive addresses an important corporate governance issue of overcoming shareholders' apathy by removing barriers, which have been keeping shareholders from actively exercising their rights. It however failed to provide a definition of a shareholder. The directive set out rules for proxy voting in a general shareholders' meeting. Member states or companies are not allowed to restrict the exercise of shareholder rights through proxy holders for any purpose other than to address potential conflicts of interest between the proxy holder and the shareholder by one of three prescribed methods. The Czech Business Code has...
My Dear Mýsa! From the recondite correspondence between Vojtěch Hynais and Josef Václav Myslbek from the years 1881-1900
Kolář, Petr ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Hojda, Zdeněk (referee)
Vojtěch Hynais, author of the curtain of the National in Prague, belongs to main creator of this theatre. He was in warm contact with other important persons of cultural and art life of this time, for example Josef Václav Myslbek or Václav Brožík. He lived in Paris for several yers (1878-1893). During the time of his Parisian stay he preserved continual contact with home. He visited Prague occassionally and besides he corresponded with his friends from Bohemia. One of the most frequent correspondence partners was J.V. Myslbek, who was probably his best friend. The edition of 64 letters and two correspondence cards sent from Vojtěch Hynais to Josef Václav Myslbek, which is showed in this work, as the proof of the deep friendship between these two man and simultaneously the reflection of the most important moments of their lives in the period 1881-1900. The correspondence originates from a private collection and I tried to manage it in accordance with the valid principles of the metodology of edition.
School beginnings of teacher Augustin Bartoš
Kolář, Petr ; Titzl, Boris (advisor) ; Mužáková, Monika (referee)
This work describes an unknown early life, study, pedagogical actions and scientific reports of Augustin Bartoš (1188-1969), the famous Czech teacher, writer and educator of children with disabilities. He was born in Červený Kostelec, Eastern Bohemia and after attending local schools he was admitted to Teacher Institute in Hradec Králové. Graduating in 1908, he started to teach in schools around the city. During time, he promoted the activities of industrial arts and active school movement between local teachers. In 1912, he joined to Educational Institute for Boys in Hradec Králové and during 1919 helped to manage Educational Institute for Depraved Girls in Jilemnice. At the end of the year he was invited to be manager and school-master of Jedlička Institute in Prague. 176
Benefits of retina laser photocoagulation using PASCAL system
Němčanský, Jan ; Studnička, Jan (advisor) ; Kolář, Petr (referee) ; Řehák, Jiří (referee)
- Benefits of retina laser photocoagulation using PASCAL system Objective. To evaluate functional, anatomical and clinical efficacy, and safety of the pattern scanning laser (PASCAL®) photocoagulation in patients with diabetic retinopathy (DR) and/or diabetic macular edema (DME). Methods. From 2008 to 2013, 235 eyes of 151 patients were treated with pattern laser photo- coagulation at the Ophthalmology Department at University Hospital Ostrava. Patients were analyzed in the subgroups A, B and C according to presence of DR and/or DME indicated to panretinal photocoagulation (PRP) and grid or focal macular laser treatment. In the group A, one eye of the same patient was treated with pattern photocoagulation (20 ms/impulse) and the fellow eye with conventional settings. In groups B and C all eyes were treated with pattern photocoagulation. Best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), central retinal thickness (CRT), fun- dus photography, biomicroscopy, complications, pain response and duration of the treatment were evaluated during the minimum 12months follow-up period. Statistical analysis using parametrical and nonparametrical tests with p less than 0,05 was done. Results. Pattern laser PRP lead to BCVA stabilization in patients with very severe nonprolife- rative DR (NPDR) and proliferative DR (PDR). DME...
Electronic Textbook in Introduction to Mathematical Methods of Physics
Kolář, Petr ; Žák, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Koupilová, Zdeňka (referee)
Title: Electronic Textbook in Introduction of Mathematical Methods of Physics Abstract: The objective of this work is to create a studing text not only for the first grade students of physics teaching at FMP CU but also for other students of phy- sical and technical domains at universities which should help them with an intro- duction into mathematic necessary in physics. The main matter of this work is based on preparations and texts of dr. A Hladík, prof. J. Podolský and dr. V. Žák for lectures and exercises of subject Introduction of Mathematical Methods of Physics. The author's experience is also reflected of course, especially his fresh experience with the age group for which is this text created. Equally, a small re- cherche of an existence and an availability of other sources pursuing given matters have been done. Some of these sources are recommended in this work. The cre- ated text should help readers with elementary matter of systems of coordinates, limits and derivations with a special consideration to their applications in physics. A contribution of this work for students is going to be a subject of other resear- ching. An extension of this text with other elementary parts of mathematical methods of physics is presumed too.
