Nutritional status of patients with acute leukemia during the oncological treatment
Kupilíková, Veronika ; Šťastná-Marková, Markéta (advisor) ; Křížová, Jarmila (referee)
Acute leukemia is defined as a heterogeneous group of malignant hematopoietic stem cell disorders. The aim of this study was to investigate the extent to which nutritional disorders occur in patients with acute leukemia during the cancer treatment, their severity, the most common causes of weight loss, and the extent to which different forms of nutritional intervention are applied in patients. The research was carried out in the Institute of Haematology and Blood Transfusion, during the hospitalization of patients in the inpatient ward, intensive care unit and transplant unit. The study population consisted of 40 patients diagnosed with acute leukemia. Outcomes from nutritional status screening (MNA questionnaire, BMI, weight, mid arm circumference, calf circumference, BIA, biochemical nutritional parameters), and functional assessment (ECOG PS, Chair-stand test, Hand grip test) were used to process the practical part and answer the research questions. Measurements were performed twice with approximately one month intervals. The study confirmed weight loss since the onset of the disease in 95 % of patients. The dominant cause of weight loss was identified in 80 % as lack of appetite. Nutritional screening by MNA evaluated the patient population with a mean score of 22,8 ± 2,9, referring to the risk...
Outdoor learning in relation to environmental education in kindergarten.
ŠŤASTNÁ, Michaela
The methodology of the thesis was to use a quantitative method using a questionnaire to find out the view of a parent of a preschool child on the importance of being in nature in the context of environmental education. In particular, how much free time the preschool child spends in nature and in what manner this time is used. The theoretical section includes chapters focused on 'Environmental Education', 'The Benefits of Being in the Outdoors for the Development of the Preschool Child's Environmental Sense' and 'The Family and its Importance for Environmental Education.' The results of the research investigation showed that for parents of a preschool child, being out-doors is important not only in terms of strengthening physical health and mental resilience, but also in terms of strengthening the child's overall personality. Within the time constraints between work and kid's activities, the parent's aims were to ensure that the child was in a natural environment for at least 27 minutes a day. Due to the kindergarten's outdoor education being outside, the parents fed back that the teacher's intervention with the children was more positively impactful. Using a different natural environment beyond that of the kindergarten garden would also be preferred to increase the scope of outdoor educational activities.
Hodnocení jakosti bílých jogurtů v závislosti na obsahu tuku vstupní suroviny
Šťastná, Magdaléna
The thesis aimed to evaluate the quality of plain yoghurt depending on the fat content of the input raw material. The literature part is focused on the legislative requirements and classification of fermented dairy products and plain yoghurt, the raw materials from which plain yoghurt is produced and the basic technological operations of the production process. In addition, mention is made of vegetable fats and their use in the manufacture of alternative dairy products. The practical part deals with the production of yoghurts with different fat contents and different raw materials (animal and vegetable fat). Experimentally produced samples were subjected to Physico-chemical and microbiological analysis. A sensory questionnaire was developed and the yoghurts were sensorially evaluated. Finally, it was assessed whether the use of vegetable fats as a fat additive in the manufacture yoghurts is possible. The result showed that the use of vegetable fats to produce yoghurts of lower fat content would be possible without negative effects on quality, provided that this was allowed by legislation. According to Czech legislation, only a product containing a dairy raw materiál may be called yoghurt. Therefore, this product could not be called yoghurt, but an alternative dairy product.
The motive of death in Nezahalcóyotl's poetry
Šťastná, Maria ; Kazmar, Vít (advisor) ; Filová, Miroslava (referee)
Theme of death in Nezahualcóyotl's poetry Death always had a special meaning in Mesoamerica. The local view of this theme has undergone a great change over the centuries, especially after the Spanish conquered the continent. The best known author of Nahua chants is Nezahualcóyotl. His texts are still the subject of research and interpretation. The aim of this work is to characterize the motif of death which is frequent in Nezahualcóyotl's poetry. It focuses on the development of his thoughts on death and on important elements closely related to death as the finality of life, the Giver of Life (the deity) and the afterlife. The poetry is interpreted based on Miguel Leon Portilla's Spanish translations of Nezahualcóyotl's poetry. The analysis of Nezahualcóyotl's texts leads to the conclusion that the fear from which the monarch suffered did not primarily originate from the process of dying and finitude, but from the afterlife, about which he admitted through metaphors and questions, that he knew nothing. In his search for a way to endure on Earth, he came to the conclusion that the most important was to be remembered through the poetry of "flower and song," which came from the Giver of Life.
Three Times Female Experience of the Terezín Ghetto
Šťastná, Martina ; Holý, Jiří (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The thesis deals with three publications that contain egodocuments of female authors who were imprisoned as Jews in Terezín. These are Susanne Fall (1922-2003) and her early testimony Terezín, ráj mezi lágry (so far only in Czech translation 2015), Eva Roubíčková (1921-2013) and her Terezínský deník (first in English translation 1998, in German translation 2007, in Czech 2009 and 2017), and Hana Posseltová Ledererová (1919-1997) and her diary supplemented by later entries Máma a já (1997). The paper compares three narratives by almost same old authors, who however differed in nationality and position in the ghetto. In doing so, it focuses on various ways of articulating women's experience in the Terezín ghetto. The thesis first outlines the theoretical definition of diaries and memoirs on the subject of the Holocaust. Its core is the interpretation of the three aforementioned texts using excerpts from the books.
