Reflection of Camorra Phenomenon in Roberto Saviano's Works Gomorrah and The Opposite of Death
Černá, Pavlína ; Flemrová, Alice (advisor) ; Štefková, Monika (referee)
Reflection of Camorra Phenomenon in Roberto Saviano's works Gomorrah and The Opposite of Death In the modern world where money and power are the principal agents, criminal organizations assert an increasing amount of power. One of those organizations is the Italian Camorra, a principal topic in the works of the Neapolitan journalist Roberto Saviano. This thesis attempts to analyse two of his key books, Gomorrah and The Opposite of Death, in order to penetrate the mysteries of organized crime in Campania, to discover economic, politic, social and other reasons leading to the fact that an ever-increasing number of individuals are joining this "legalized" form of terror. The thesis first tries to reveal facts related to the history of Camorra and its reflection in Italian literature - the first mentions, key works, selected authors and journalists. A short profile is offered on the personality of Roberto Saviano and some of his other books. A topical analysis of two books mentioned above represents a principal part of the paper. It predominantly focuses on Camorra's illegal activities, on its structure and operation under various acpects of public life. Specific examples are used to illustrate how Camorra influences the life of people in this area - either of those who are embodied in this...
Antidepresiva - výskyt v přírodních vodách, účinky na organismy, možnosti jejich fototransformace v přírodním prostředí
ČERNÁ, Pavlína
The thesis is focused on one group of organic xenobiotic compounds, antidepressants, their presence in natural waters and their effects on aquatic organisms. A survey of increasing consumption of antidepressants in developed countries is presented together with numerous studies proving rising concentrations of these compounds in natural sufrace waters. Several studies dealing with influence of antidepressants on selected aquatic organisms of different trophic levels are demonstrated. Modern techniques, including AOPs (advanced oxidation processes), used for possible better waste waters treatment are discussed.

The diploma thesis focuses on human emotions and monitors their effects on the individual from the psychological and physiognomic point of view. It focuses on the development of ancient theatre and the function of masks. It consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The practical part presents a set of latex masks that interpret the work of Erving Goffman The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life.
Role of tetraspanin network during sperm-egg interaction and fusion
Černá, Pavlína ; Hortová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Petelák, Aleš (referee)
Fusion of sperm and egg is a crucial moment of the fertilization process which is fundamentally urged by tetraspanin superfamily proteins whose interactions allow mutual interaction of gamets and their subsequent fusion. Tetraspanins are 25-50 kD transmembrane proteins whose various kinds are found in most mammalian cells. Four transmembrane domains containing key amino acid residues indicating their function are their specificity. The essential feature of tetraspanins is their ability to form membranes lateral bonds which are reached thanks to large complexes with other proteins that form the so-called tetraspanin network. The interaction with other proteins and tetraspanins is important for a cell adhesion to the extracellular matrix, adhesion to the other cells, and it plays a role in signal transduction. This bachelor thesis describes and summarizes the role of tetraspanin networks during fusion of egg and sperm. A general introduction of tetraspanins, their structure and functions in cellular processes and interactions leading to the formation of tetraspanin networks which are the key point in fertilization, are given. A description of the fertilization process itself, the protein interactions and changes which precede it in included. The latest findings of the topic from the viewpoint of...
The selenium effect on secondary metabolites production in in vitro cultures of medicinal plants - I
Černá, Pavlína ; Tůmová, Lenka (advisor) ; Martin, Jan (referee)
Higher plants represent an important source of valuable substances, so called secondary metabolites, which can be obtained through explant cultures of plants. Elicitation is a method of increasing the secondary metabolites production. This study aims to evaluate the secondary metabolites production in Fagopyrum esculentum variety Spacinska cultures in vitro after abiotic elicitor treatment. The experiment was focused on alteration of rutin production in callus and suspension cultures of F. esculentum var. Spacinska after selenium application. Murashige and Skoog nutrient medium supplemented with 1 mg l-1 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid was used for the cultivation. Selenium solutions of various concentrations (c1 = 9.012×10-3 mol l-1 , c2 = 9.012×10-4 mol l-1 , c3 = 9.012×10-5 mol l-1 ) were affecting the cultures for 6, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 168 hours. The content of rutin was determined by HPLC. The release of secondary metabolites into the nutrient medium was studied as well. After elicitor application, the rutin production increased in both callus and suspension cultures. Higher levels of rutin content were detected in callus culture. The maximum rutin content (0.6 mg g-1 DW) was reached after 12 h of elicitor treatment of c2 concentration in callus culture. Concerning suspension culture, the...
Validation of a new method for the evaluation of stress relaxation of tablets
Černá, Pavlína ; Řehula, Milan (advisor) ; Svačinová, Petra (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical technology Supervisor: Doc. RNDr. Milan Řehula, CSc. Title of Dissertation: Validation of a new method for the evaluation of stress relaxation of tablets Keywords: tablets, stress relaxation test, elastic and plastic deformation The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the elastic relaxation of tablets. It describes various methods used in the evaluation of elastic recovery of tablets. The present work explores the factors affecting the elastic relaxation of tablets. The experimental part is focused on the stress relaxation test. Until present only one delay was studied. This work studies the stress relaxation after relieving tablet. The parameters A2, T2 and P2 were reviewed. The relationship between the parameters P2 and compression force relief were studied. For experiments microcrystalline cellulose Avicel PH 102 (MCC) was used. Tablets were compressed in a device used for testing the strength of the material in pressure and tension T1-FRO 50. For the determination of the stress relaxation test, the tablets were compressed with 180 sec first delay. The second delay was always 60 sec but it was measured from certain decrease of pressure (7 kN, 6 kN, 5 kN, 4 kN, 3 kN, 2 kN, 1 kN and 0.1 kN). To...
Preliminary measures in international procedural law
Černá, Pavlína ; Balaš, Vladimír (advisor) ; Faix, Martin (referee)
The title of this diploma thesis is "Provisional Measure in International Procedural Law". The purpose of provisional measures is a preservation of the rights of each party pending the settlement of the dispute which means pending the definitive decision in the case. It helps to protect the object of the litigation and to maintain in its state as it existed on the initiation of the proceedings. Furthermore, the function is a preservation of the integrity of the final judgment and the prevention of violent self-help. I chose the issue of provisional measures as a topic of my diploma thesis because it is an essential instrument to enable any international court or tribunal to perform its functions. The aim of the thesis is to analyze law containing provisions relating to order of provisional measures and practice of particular international courts and tribunals. The diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. First chapter defines provisional measure and explains its using in International Procedural Law. Second chapter focuses on the exercise of provisional measures in international arbitration especially in respect to proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes. On the other hand, third part deals with proceeding concerning provisional measures before two...
Authentic existence and the "American dream" in Dreiser's fiction
Černá, Pavlína ; Procházka, Martin (referee) ; Roraback, Erik Sherman (advisor)
If we ask ourselves what makes a nation, the most common answer would probably be the national attributes such as the same language, race, shared territory or history platform. But then how is it in the case of the United States of America? Its language, English, is originally a language from the British Isles, its population consists of many people of different races and cultural backgrounds. It would be quite problematic even to speak about some common past or a specific territory.1 So, what is it then that makes the United States of America? Harvard's Sacvan Bercovitch argues that this "nation is defined by the mythic word America"2 and for him "America is a myth."2 Taking the definition of myths, in the original meaning of the word they are "stories, usually concerning superhumans or gods, which are related to accompany or to explain religious beliefs: they originate far back in the culture of oral societies. A mythology is a system of mythical stories which, taken together, elaborate the religious or metaphysical beliefs of the society."3 Myths are important in functioning as building blocks of the nation, more precisely they "shape the way we see the world, how we think of ourselves, where we look for origins and purpose, including national origins and purpose." Finally, "every great culture has had a...
