The text of the thesis is divided into three parts. The first part is dedicated to the current state of knowledge. It consists of several chapters that review publications dealing with influencers, social media in relation to eating disorders, and the current regulation of these platforms. The research methodology, which is built on the grounded theory method, is introduced in the second section The method of data collection through semi-structured interviews is also described in more detail. The third, empirical part of the thesis then analyses the interviews. The statements from these interviews are placed in the context of current knowledge. Those that relate specifically to eating disorders are then considered in the...

Goldschmídová, Eliška ; Sedláček, Jakub (advisor) ; Heřmanová, Marie (referee)
The thesis focuses on exploring and describing the subculture of incel, The term incel is an abbreviation of the phrase "involuntary celibate" and refers to individuals who are unable to find a romantic or sexual partner and some of them blame woman for their situation. In the theoretical part, the history of the term incel will be presented, as well as the subculture's placement in the broader context of online communities and subcultures that fall into the so-called "manosphere", characterized by the promotion of masculinity, misogyny, and anti-feminism. It will introduce the different ideologies that emerge across the community and the associated terms and neologisms that are fundamental to understanding it. It will also describe the attacks associated with the subculture and the reactions of those who are part of it. The practical part of the thesis answers questions through qualitative research in the form of semi- structured interviews with those who subscribe to the incel subculture. It presents the subjects' perspectives on the issue under study and attempts to answer what the reasons behind involuntary celibacy are and whether the community could exist outside the online environment. The loss of digital identity from the perspective of Instagram users - I share, therefore I am, until...
Fedorková, Magdaléna ; Heřmanová, Marie (advisor) ; Hanus, Lukáš (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of identity loss in the virtual space of social networks. Specifically, it focused on individuals whose profile account on the digital platform Instagram was stolen. The thesis is structured into theoretical and practical parts. In the first, knowledge of the concepts necessary to grasp the chosen topic of digital identity (narrative, performative) is presented, including a thorough description of Instagram against the background of everyday life. The second part focuses on the qualitative research, which builds on the analysis of twelve semi-structured interviews, along with the walkthrough and autoethnography method. The thesis also looks at the potential contradiction of the concept of digital data ownership within a defined cyberspace where privacy is viewed differently and differently from the offline sphere. The text attempts to unpack the issue of notions of value and intellectual property in relation to digital identity, which Instagram users do not handle or treat the concepts in the same way as the platform itself (terms of use) or legal definitions. At the end of the practical part, the thesis also outlines the relationship of Instagram social network users in general to digital technologies.
Environmental topics of Czech influencers
Dědková, Markéta ; Rynda, Ivan (advisor) ; Heřmanová, Marie (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the study of the phenomenon of environmental influencers and their relationship with responsibility. The theoretical part defines the nature of these modern opinion leaders from generations Y and Z. Moreover, it approaches the concept of responsibility from an ethical standpoint with focus placed on its environmental dimensions, and differentiates between its three constitutive aspects - the object, referential subject and the subject. Finally, the examination is grounded in the contextual framework of an individualized society defined by its increased emphasis on the role of an individual. The research part analyses the approach of social media influencers towards responsibility for their actions in the digital domain and the extent to which they are aware of their respective influences. It further examines whom they hold responsible for the climate crisis and the role of the individual in this context. Through qualitative research methods, including the analysis of shared content and semi-structured interviews, the thesis details the various approaches taken by the subjects of the study and subsequently subdivides them into two categories: educators and lifestyle influencers. Individual approaches cannot be fully generalized, however, it can be observed that increased...
Extension of Working Lives in the Czech Republic: Employee Situation. Policy brief DAISIE project
Křížková, Alena ; Dudová, Radka ; Pospíšilová, Marie ; Heřmanová, Marie
This policy brief summarises research project results examining ageing conditions across three sectors: transport, healthcare and banking. It aims to respond to the still insufficient discussion on the needs and opportunities of women and men of pre-retirement age and in the process of retirement in the Czech labour market. Gender and age inequalities accumulate over the life course resulting in significantly lower pensions for women compared to men or making it impossible to retire with a decent pension. Uniform retirement ages does not suit everyone equally. The organisation of work in specific occupations has specific negative effects on the health of older women and men. Changes in profession, position or working time in pre-retirement age is not easily obtainable. The policy brief suggests recommendations for state and policy makers, employers as well as good practice examples. Digital Nomadism: The Instinct of Wandering in Contemporary Society
Volfová, Kristýna ; Halbich, Marek (advisor) ; Heřmanová, Marie (referee)
Recent estimates suggest that there are currently around 4.8 million people who consider themselves to be digital nomads. They are widely depicted in the media, most often as young professionals who successfully combine work, leisure and travel into one holistic lifestyle. Despite this significant presence in today's popular culture, from a research point of view, digital nomadism is almost unexplored phenomenon. Therefore, the aim of this work is the analysis and interpretation of the phenomenon of digital nomadism, not only through my own ethnographic research and reflection, but also in terms of current theoretical concepts in anthropology of tourism and mobility. The research itself focuses mainly on selected aspects often associated with digital nomadism in the mainstream media, and how informants reflect them. I deal with aspects such as the blurred boundaries between work and leisure, mobility slowdown, the origin of co-working spaces, the concept of freedom and, last but not least, the social changes that have led to the global expansion of this phenomenon. Keywords: digital nomadism, anthropology of tourism, mobility, travelling, digital technologies, work
Exil on the brink of maturity
Vašíčková, Barbora ; Ezzeddine, Petra (advisor) ; Heřmanová, Marie (referee)
The intended work examines how the relationship between the unaccompanied migrants and the hosts is formed within foster care. Foster care could be defined as "long-term and repetitive contacts," where specific forms of relationship are negotiated between individual actors. I ask what activities and practices the actors make significant concerning the arrival, what ideas and imaginations on the part of the actors enter into the relationship, and how emotional rules are negotiated in a relationship. Last but not least, the work examines how the individual actors relate to the category of unaccompanied minors, that is, how this category, which has its legal definition, is negotiated. Key words: unaccompanied minors, foster care, family practices, emotional work, reflexivity
