"Du has(s)t mich (gefragt) …" Human primal fears and their literary implementation in lyrics of the band ,Rammstein'
Pecková, Adéla ; Blahak, Boris (advisor) ; Tvrdík, Milan (referee)
A fitting citation from the name of this thesis contains one of the most well known plays on words of the German band Rammstein, which engages socially taboo topics in its lyrics and thus evokes human primal fears. The goal of this thesis is a literary analysis of selected lyrics with a regard to the related controversial topics. Controversial topics often reflect human weaknesses. This thesis focuses on their literary implementation in lyrics (irony, plays on words and rhetorical and stylistic tools) with a consideration of the accompanying music. Based on the insight gained, the important question is: why has the band Rammstein become a phenomenon of the present time all over the world and why are its lyrics subjects of discussion. The provocation certainly has its roots in the origin of the members of the band, who come from the former DDR, where they did not have the opportunity to openly comment controversial topics.

"Oit wird me!" The Kraslice German. Phonetic structure and variation-linguistical classification
Mareš, Jiří ; Blahak, Boris (advisor) ; Šemelík, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with the topic of a diatopically spoken variant of German language in the region of Kraslice, the north-western part of Bohemia (Eger/Cheb). The research that was carried out stands on dialogues based on the so called Wenker - Sätze phrases (1878), such dialogues were recorded and then phonetically transcribed and analyzed. Using these methods and materials, the phonetic structure of vowels was reconstructed and the results were variation-linguistically classified. Among the expected features, the north-bavarian and east-franc influences prevail as expected. Despite those there are many signs of the north(west)-bohemian too. Next the question pursued of how the German Graslitzer developed after 1945.

This process is manifested in the largely distributed knowledge about the respective language spoken in the neighbouring countries. One aim of the study is to record the current situation of one-sided or bilateral initiatives to promote awareness of Czech in Bavaria and of German in the Czech Republic. In the process the motivation (Economy, culture, exchange between younger generations etc.), the target group (Pre-school, primary level I/II, college, accompanying occupation) as well as the success is to be determined. Recapitulatory, a critical evaluation between symmetry or asymmetry of the input and output on both sides will be made.

The Dutch: About its status between own westgermanic standard variety and a variety of the Low German
Hubáček, Miroslav ; Blahak, Boris (advisor) ; Šemelík, Martin (referee)
The bachelor's thesis works on the assumption that the cartographical illustration which provides an overview of the German historical language area and dialect area is often related to the Dutch language area as well. In consideration of this background, there is a question how much the Dutch language may be really understood as a variety of the Low German language or if it is an independent West Germanic language on the basis of the long political separation of the Dutch and Germans. The research deals with phonetic and morphological phenomena and tries to create an overview, on which basis the main question of the bachelor's thesis can be determined with certain plausibility, by using linguistic contrasting methods. The materials for the research are grammars of the standard form of Dutch, local grammars of Low German and also linguistic and textual samples of Dutch respectively low German native speakers.
