The present Bachelor's Thesis discusses the question to what extent the countries Czech Republic and Bavaria, once both right on the Iron Curtain, have traversed a successful procedure of approximation against the background of the 25th anniversary of the political upheaval in eastern central Europe. This process is manifested in the largely distributed knowledge about the respective language spoken in the neighbouring countries. One aim of the study is to record the current situation of one-sided or bilateral initiatives to promote awareness of Czech in Bavaria and of German in the Czech Republic. In the process the motivation (Economy, culture, exchange between younger generations etc.), the target group (Pre-school, primary level I/II, college, accompanying occupation) as well as the success is to be determined. Recapitulatory, a critical evaluation between symmetry or asymmetry of the input and output on both sides will be made. V pozadí 25. výročí politického převratu ve východní Evropě se tato bakalářská práce zabývá otázkou, nakolik v Česku a Bavorsku, sousedům během železné opony, proběhla dodnes úspěšný sbližovací proces, který se také projevuje rozšířenými znalostmi jazyků sousedních zemí. Práce si klade za cíl zkoumat jednostranné či bilaterální iniciativy, které podporují znalosti českého jazyka v Bavorsku a německého jazyka v Čechách. Při tom má být určena motivační část (hospodářství, kultura, výměnné pobyty mládeže atd.), cílová skupina (školka, 1. a 2. stupeň základní školy, vysoká škola, učiliště) jako i jejich úspěchy (spádová oblast, počet zúčastněných, cílová úroveň). Na závěr má následovat kritické ohodnocení symetrie či asymetrie vložených nákladů iniciativ a získaných výsledků, na obou stranách hranice.
