The importance of experiential education in nursing program at the university

The importance of experiential education in the higher education of nurses is a topic that deserves to be treated, but unfortunately in the Czech Republic it is basically unexplored compared to abroad. Hence, in the discussion, the results of the research investigation within this bachelor thesis were compared only with foreign studies. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to document the findings on the impact of experiential learning on the quality of teaching of subjects where this teaching method is used in the study of nursing. Furthermore, to document the findings on the positives and negatives of the experiential learning method from the perspective of nursing students and to map the subjective perceptions and benefits of experiential learning by nursing students. The bachelor thesis has two parts. The theoretical part focuses on defining the experiential education system and its different components. At the same time, teaching methods typical of higher education are defined. The practical part focuses on quantitative research in the form of a self-constructed survey, focusing on the teaching of communication in undergraduate nursing education. Experiential Education: Teaching English Language to Adults

The diploma thesis focuses on experiential education as a possible and efficient methodology for teaching ESL to adult learners. The theoretical part scrutinizes the key principles of the method and investigates its background. In addition, the thesis clarifies the concept of learning styles and Kolb's Learning Cycle. The following sections deal with the adult learner as a specific type of learner with his characteristic needs and factors influencing his SLA. Furthermore, the benefits of experiential education for the adult learner are considered. The practical part introduces several concrete activities using elements of experiential education. These activities were described in detail and piloted in a group of adult learners.

Organizational culture in hotel Adria Prague

Organizational culture is very important determinant of every organization. This diploma thesis deals with the specific aspects of organizational culture. It consists of four main parts. In the first chapter the theoretical basis regarding organizational culture, organizational commitment and experiential education is described. The second part consists of the deep analyses of hotel Adria Prague. It provides the information regarding its employees, clients, competition and specific events the management organizes on regular basis. The next part is dedicated to the empirical research the aim of which was to identify organizational strategy and values as well as the extent to which employees identify with these values. It also focuses on factors fostering organizational commitment. In the final part of the thesis the practical recommendations for the management of the hotel are mentioned.
