The thesis focuses on a design of restoration of the Porta Coeli monastery complex in the municipality of Předklášteří, a unique and valuable place with a rich history and spiritual character. The current and historic purpose of the site is monastic life, which is now in decline and in danger of being completely lost. Large parts of the site, including historic buildings, are unused and unfortunately in a dilapidated state. The site offers visitors only limited opportunities such as a visit to the museum, guided tours or Sunday Mass in the church. However, the site has enormous recreational, rehabilitation and spiritual potential which the new design seeks to develop. Based on the existing condition and use analyses, the buildings and areas were selected for further development. Mainly a granary, a sheepfold, a coach house, the second quadrangle and an old laundry. Design of the granary and the sheepfold is developed in more detail. The construction program of the design respects the currently implemented and upcoming plans and intentions in the area. Targeted buildings have a diverse typology and functional content, which are thematically linked to create a coherent complex focused on wedding ceremonies, cultural activities and other social events.

It uses materials such as wood, glass and concrete. It consists of 3 floors and an entrance mezzanine. Chytilová, Markéta ; Vostrejž, Dušan (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
The main idea in dealing with my thesis was to design a high quality public space where people will feel comfortable, safely and have a reason to come back. Furthermore, this is the place to be full of life and will serve the general public. The cultural center, that was designed, to become part of Královo Pole cultural campus, so-called K2-center, which will create a basis for free time activities, relaxation and education. A significant part of the proposed building is made up of multi-functional hall, library, restaurant, teen center and spaces for leisure time activities. On the ground floor will be located business parter and coffee bar. The aim of my project was to take into account what is most needed for inhabitants of Královo Pole for the purpose to meet the demands for quality leisure time for the widest spectrum of people. There is an effort to place the object itself as the most sensitive, given the current surrounding areas. The aim was not to design a huge object but especially a pleasant environment functioning as a center of leisure time activities.

Pitis, Dimitrios ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Smolka, Radim (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the design of a new building of the Leisure center for Children, Youth and Adults. Leisure center is located in Brno in Kralovo Pole on Mojmir’s Square. The building is located in a gap between the two-storey building of the Gymnasium with a gable roof and the five-storey new building of a residential building with a flat roof. The new building fills the whole gap. The plot is slightly sloping towards Košinova Street and is directly connected to the grounds of the Elementary School in Brno, Košinova 22. The overall concept of the design envisages a partial connection of the school with the operation of the leisure center. Thanks to the designed passage, pedestrians can move freely through the garden to Mojmír’s Square. The aim of the proposal is to create a pleasant environment for cultural and other uses with the greatest possible multifunctionality, to suit all groups of visitors. The building has four floors and one underground floor. The underground floor is used for warehouses, technical equipment of the building and changing rooms. On the first floor there is a multipurpose hall, a small café and a leisure center itself. All these parts can work independently of each other thanks to separate entrances. On the second floor there is a bar used for events held in the hall and two classrooms. The whole floor is connected by a corridor with a door. There are classrooms and a living room on the third floor and the fourth floor serves primarily as an access to the generous roof terrace. Flat roofs above the hall and above the fourth floor are designed as extensive green. An interesting facade is a hanging facade consisting of a suspended stainless steel wire mesh, after which a climbing plant will grow Given the world orientation the parthenocissus is a suitable plant for the facade. In summer, its leaves will protect the glass façade from the sun's rays, in autumn the leaves will become intense red to purple and fall in

Sports and Relaxation Centre Vsetín, Ohrada
Tallmayer, Dominik ; Kotek, arch Jakub (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor)
This paper aims to elaborate an urbanistic study focused on the establishment of a multifunction athletic and recreational area located in Vsetín-Ohrada, carrying the name of the location, Ohrada. The reason to elaborate on this project is the current desolate state of the area, which already does not fulfil its purpose and serves only as lodgings and as a facility for the tennis club. My approach for this project implies identified accidence of buildings with an emphasis on maximal use of daylight, open spaces, green areas, and social interactions. All of these parts connect ideas and needs of future generations and deliver into the area new Genio Loci. For me, the biggest challenge in this complex area is finding the answer to meaningful use of the big amount of soil that is part of the canker tribune. The solution for this challenge might be in the creation of new access paths and footbridge to the buildings which provide several parts of space with different atmosphere and purpose. The main idea was the creation of a leisure public space with an emphasis on the variability of used areas that serve people from all age groups. It creates several main areas that divide the location and deliver various atmospheres for each generation. Additionally, the area as a whole is open and accessible to the public. A sign of long-term functional society is the ability of considerable behaviour toward public areas. Space in front of and between buildings happened to be more important than the building itself. In this case, we can talk about public life that is sustainable in time.
Purposeful updating of a set of historical objects
Cvrčková, Dana ; Klement, Miloš (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design for the restoration of the former granary and sheepfold in the monastery complex of Porta Coeli, Předklášteří near the city of Tišnov. When conducting the architectural study, it was necessary to analyze and take into account the cultural-historical values of the monastery, its premises and its immediate surroundings, plus the structural-technical condition of the monastery complex and public functions in the vicinity. The basic idea underpinning the design was to create a place where people would gather and this bring life to the monastery grounds. Therefore the former sheepfold becomes s multifunctional hall where celebrations, weddings, corporate events can be staged in addition to municipal functions. In close proximity to the sheepfold there is the granary for which the design includes a puppet theatre and the upper floors to be used for hotel accommodation. These design features combine to create an environment that encourages people to frequent and use the monastery grounds Porta Coeli.
