Possibilities of using elements of Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy in the teaching of geography in current schools

The bachelor thesis examines which elements of Waldorf and Montessori pedagogy geography teachers utilize in their teaching at mainstream schools and further identifies potential barriers to the utilization of these elements. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part is first devoted to the definition of the alternative school. It briefly discusses the origin and development of alternative schools, their characteristics, functions and typologies. This section also includes information on two selected types of alternative schools - Waldorf and Montessori. Attention is paid to the characteristics of the main features of these schools, their development, expansion and the organisation of teaching. The main elements and principles that could bring enrichment to traditional geography teaching are described. In the practical part, an investigation is carried out using the method of semi-structured interviews with selected teachers. The information gathered is analysed to identify the barriers to the inclusion of Waldorf and Montessori elements in geography teaching in mainstream schools, as well as the elements used by teachers. Education of pupils with special educational needs in a selected Montessori school

This thesis deals with the education of pupils with special educational needs in a selected Montessori school. The aim of the thesis is to examine the views of teachers on the education of pupils with special educational needs within the Montessori pedagogy, to analyse the implementation of support measures in a selected Montessori school and to evaluate the opportunities and risks that the Montessori system of education brings to these pupils. The theoretical framework of this thesis includes the study of special educational needs and support measures, defining the concepts of integration and inclusion in education along with the principles of inclusion. It also focuses on the characteristics of alternative schools, their function and role in education policy, including their legislative anchorage. The personality of Maria Montessori, the philosophy of her pedagogy and the principles of her pedagogical system are the central theme of the whole work. The practical part of the thesis contains the methodology and final results of the qualitative research conducted in the form of semi- structured interviews in a selected Montessori school. Transition from alternative kindergarten to elementary school

bachelor's thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. The theoretical part is focused on alternative education available in the Czech Republic. It explains the basic principles of alternative pedagogical concepts and also clarifies the concept of contemporary traditional education in the Czech Republic. The practical part presents the results of a research investigation conducted in the form of interviews. Their aim was to describe the experiences of children with the transition from an alternative kindergarten to a traditional primary school, and to get an idea of the problems, or on the contrary, the advantages of adapting to a different type of school.

The bachelor's thesis refers to the official assignment of the management of the school Na Radosti in Žďár nad Sázavou. It is a democratic school where the teaching system is based on freedom of decision and non-archiving of individuals in the community. This school is now located in various locations in the city and needs a new quality space that meets current requirements and standards. The school with a capacity of about 100 pupils should create a pleasant space for teaching and support concentration. The demarcated plot of land directly encourages the direct connection of the school with nature, which is also required by the given system of teaching, as the teaching is also distributed to the outdoor areas.

The final bachelor's thesis responds to the request of the management of the Na Radosti school in Žďár nad Sázavou to design a new building for a democratic school. Due to the unsatisfactory current situation, where the school is located in several places in the town, it needs a new suitable space corresponding to their specific requirements and needs. A democratic school is a system of teaching based on the free choice of the individual. The new school, with a capacity of approximately 100 pupils, is to create a suitable space for learning, play and sport. Thanks to the designated land, it will also offer a connection to the landscape and create a creative and learning environment within it.

The thesis focuses on the design of interior furniture for children - learning towers made of plywood, designed for the kitchen, bathroom, workshop, etc. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the toddler, his development, play, general, hygienic and safety requirements for toys, learning towers, Montessori philosophy and the materials and finishes used. The practical part describes the process of designing a learning tower including market research, sketches, selection of the final design, dimensioning and construction, 3D visualization, stability calculation, material calculation. The final output is the realization of a functional prototype.
The pedagogy of Maria Montessori in the teaching of French as a foreign language in the Czech Republic

This bachelor's thesis approaches the life of Maria Montessori, her pedagogy, and more specifically the teaching of French as a foreign language in Montessori schools. It consists of two parts. The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis introduces the reader to the basic terminology in the field of alternative pedagogy, what were the impulses and reasons for the emergence of alternative pedagogy as such and describes the development of alternative pedagogy in the Czech Republic and France. Then it focuses on the life and personality of Maria Montessori and her pedagogy, in particular her principles and methods. The thesis also describes the concept of teaching at Montessori schools, including the role of the teacher in education and the specific features of Montessori pedagogy at second grade of elementary school. The theoretical part concludes with a chapter that introduces the reader to Maria Montessori's legacy and how her pedagogy is widespread. It includes a mapping of Montessori school facilities in the three largest cities of the Czech Republic. The practical part consists of a case study of two Montessori primary schools. Montessori Pedagogy in pre-school education

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether, and in which way, do the kindergarten teachers use the didactic material of Montessori pedagogy. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part characterises preschool education, its conception and goals. At the same time it deals with methods, forms and specifics of preschool education. The next chapter focuses on Montessori pedagogy, its sensitive phases and principles such as, for instance, prepared environment, mixed age groups, responsibility and freedom of the child. The research inquiry was conducted by a mixed survey of teachers in classic kindergartens. In the practical part I examine the use of Montessori pedagogy in kindergartens of the classic type. I evaluate where the teachers look for inspiration, which tools they use and how they utilize the didactic material of Montessori pedagogy.
