Organisational culture of residential social service and its change

The text of the thesis is focused on the issue of organizational culture of residential social service of institutional character, the aim of the thesis is to find out what are the basic features and characteristics of organizational culture of residential social service and to propose procedures for its change. The theoretical part defines the organizational culture, describes what parts (elements) it consists of and how to work with the typology. Specific attention is paid to the topic of residential social service of institutional character and its transformation into residential social service of community character. The next part deals with the topic of managed change, specifically the relationship between change, organisational culture and leadership. The empirical part presents a research plan on the organizational culture of residential social service. The chosen method is field research based on an ethnographic approach. This is followed by a presentation of the research results, a discussion and a proposal for a procedure for changing the organizational culture of a residential social service of an institutional nature to the organizational culture of a residential social service of a community nature and a reflection on this procedure. The aim of the research is to identify and analyze the needs in the field of human resource management within a small company, referred to as "Company XY". Another goal is the creation and definition of specific requirements for the HR position, which would be newly introduced within this company. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis defines the basic concepts related to HR and human resources management. It monitors the development of personnel work over time and changes in the approach and management of human resources. It relates the influence of a healthy organizational culture to the loyalty and commitment of employees and ultimately to the achievement of the organization's strategic goals. It summarizes individual personnel activities and the desired professional, general, digital and soft competencies of a personnel officer, as well as the specifics of personnel work in a small company. The subject of this Master's Thesis is organizational culture and its correspondence with organizational changes. The work defines the most basic terms concerning organizational culture - the components, types, functions and diagnostic methods of organizational culture; further it explaines the term of BPO and its characteristics. To analyse the present state of the organizational culture, written question form and personal interviews were used. The Diploma thesis is dealing with creativity, innovation and organizational culture. In the theoretical part are defined relationships between these aspects. In the practical part, based on a questionnaire survey, personal observation and interviews with employees of IBM Delivery Center Brno Central Europe an evaluation of organizational culture is created. And based on the identified deficiencies, the proposals leading to increased creativity of individuals and teams in the company, increased employee‘s motivation and improved overall organizational culture of the company, are made.

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na téma orgnizační kultura a její vliv na chod regionální pobočky pojišťovny XYZ. Nejprve byly objasněny teoretické poznatky týkající se organizační kultury a jejího hodnocení. Dále byl uskutečněn polo strukturovaný rozhovor, dotazníkové šetření a provedena obsahová analýza interních dokumentů. Na základě zjištěných informací byla navržena opatření vedoucí ke zlepšení stavu z pohledu organizační kultury.
