Restoration of the monastery in Šternberk
Wernerová, Valerie ; Kocourek, Tomáš (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor)
The subject of the thesis was to create an architectural study of the revitalization of part of the building of the former Augustinian monastery in Šternberk, including its surroundings and garden. It was essential to find a new functional use of neglected spaces and determine the overall concept of the object's functioning. The building of the former monastery is to serve as a place for rest, cultural development and relaxation in a demanding era. It is functionally divided into two parts that intertwine. Firstly, it is a part intended primarily for the local population, for concerts, theaters, cultural days, social events... that is, for social and cultural enjoyment. The second part is aimed at people looking for a change of environment, relaxation in a pleasant space with high-quality facilities and recharging new energy. Within the monastery, pleasant accommodation has been created with spaces for rest, sports, relaxation, but also remote work. Both functions complement each other, the space of the restaurant, cafe or beer hall serve both residents and staying guests. The small wellness centre is also open to those interested from Šternberk as well as a gym, an open library or a beautifully landscaped garden that encourages relaxation for both locals and guests. A significant input into the architecture is the arrangement of the inner courtyard. Roofing of the courtyard, which is open today, is proposed. At the same time, a new staircase and an elevator are added in the courtyard. In the monastery grounds, it is possible to pass from east to west through the accessible monastery garden, in which parts of the English park intertwine with the baroque garden. In the south-western part, a underground garage is being built, hidden under green roof connected to the garden.

University climbing centre, Pardubice
Grund, Michal ; Remeš, Josef (referee) ; Müller, Jan (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the design of a new climbing center and the preparation of construction documentation. The building of the University Climbing Center in Pardubice is located on the southern side of the city of Pardubice, on the border of the Dukla housing estate. The construction is situated in a built-up area on flat terrain. It is a 4-story building in the form of an oval with one underground floor. The roof structure is mono-pitched with a coating of hydro insulation weighted down with washed river pebbles. The building is divided into 3 functional units. The main function of the building is served by the climbing wall, which is accessible from the underground floor and runs across all floors. The second above-ground floor houses a boulder wall with facilities, forming the second functional unit. The last third function consists of space for both trainees and the public on the first above-ground floor, where there is a reception with a rental service and a café with seating in a glazed arc space. The sports facility is designed for a total of 60 trainees. The building is designed with nearly zero energy consumption in a low-energy standard. The design also accounts for the use by persons with limited mobility and orientation. The structural system of the building is reinforced concrete monolithic. The vertical perimeter structures are reinforced concrete with a thickness of 200 mm with contact insulation ETICS with mineral wool boards with a thickness of 200 mm. Internal vertical and horizontal load-bearing structures are of reinforced concrete with varying thicknesses. The roof structure consists of steel rolled I profiles anchored to the vertical walls. The roof assembly is on a load-bearing trapezoidal sheet with a coating of hydro insulation made of TPO foil weighted down with washed river pebbles. The building is founded on a flat foundation slab with a thickness of 350 mm. A terrace for seasonal operation of the café and a small forest park with a playground will be created on the site.
Pisárky boating center
Filatova, Natalia ; Obrtlík, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the design adaptation of the area of the former water treatment plant in the Pisárky district of Brno for the creation of a new building for a water sports center, utilizing existing structures of settling tanks, and adjacent areas to establish a water sports center. The center's design also aligns with studies for the modification of the Svratka River channel and the creation of a water canal. The architectural concept aims to connect the exterior with the interior. The mass solution is derived from several key points. Firstly, the site is bordered by Pisárecká Street to the south and Žabovřeská Street to the east, intersecting at an overpass of a multilevel interchange. This creates a noisy space, making it essential to establish a "barrier" to create a private and quiet area for relaxation with a view of the river and Pisárky Hill. The sports center building echoes the shape of the streets, with the highest point of the building located at the overpass, and the roof descending along both streets. On these two facades with minimal glass surfaces, the river-facing facades connect to the surrounding nature with glass elements. Secondly, it was necessary to respect the facilities for water sports enthusiasts, situated closest to the river for easy access. Therefore, the water sports center is located several meters lower than the sports center building and is embedded into the terrain along Žabovřeská Street. Additionally, a waterfront area along the river and canal will be designed, connected by descending sidewalks to Pisárecká and Žabovřeská Streets. The shape of the building and the waterfront respects the form of the river and the water canal. This center will serve members of the water sports club and residents of all age groups.

Commercial centre Miris garden
Dračka, Jakub ; Landa, Karel (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor thesis is the design of the Miris Garden Commercial Centre within a holiday resort, which is also to include a hotel, marina and countless apartment villas, which are not part of the design. The property is located at the foot of the Velebit Mountains, near the Paklenica National Park and the village of Starigrad-Paklenica in Zadar County, Croatia. The assignment is based on an urbanistically nonsensical concept, namely the developer's intention to build a seasonal holiday resort located almost in the bosom of nature, in addition to a scale far exceeding the aforementioned village, the nearest settlement in the area. The bachelor's thesis was preceded by a studio project, which was, however, completely reworked after long deliberations and a struggle with one's own conscience, but the original intention remained – to hide the undesirable building in the local landscape under a layer of soil and to show as little of it as possible. The building is conceived as a small village, a cluster of small houses concentrated in one long street, which is, however, quite rugged and thus creates several nooks and small streets along its length. This street opens out towards the Velebit Mountains and partly towards the Adriatic Sea. While the front, and the only visible façade, is articulated, the others are hidden underneath the ground level. A longitudinal service and supply corridor runs through the building, separating the shops and restaurants from their back-of-house, warehouses and process rooms. There is an underground garage under the northeastern part of the building. The roof of the building is green, planted with fruit trees and sloping. The forecourt of the building is also planted with trees, the trees provide shade and shelter for birds and bees. The shell of the building is made of rammed concrete, the layers of which visually relate to the surrounding landscape of limestone. There is no lift in the building. The shops are designed in a minimalist way to maximise the use of outdoor space and to take account of seasonal use. Lighting and ventilation is provided by chimneys, thus transforming the original function of the chimneys according to current needs and requirements.

Various associations from Vyškov also have the option of renting space in the center. It mainly counts with the association Zelený Vyškov. Together with the construction, the revitalization of the woodshed and its new planting will take place. The original division of the garden by paths will be partially restored, as it is in the sketch from the 18th century.
