Jana Sohrová Title Case Study of Physiotherapeutic Care for a Patient Diagnosed with Distal Radius Fracture Objectives The aim of this bachelor thesis is to present the theoretical and practical aspects regarding distal radius fractures. The theoretical part aims to introduce the issues of fractures, particularly distal radius fractures, the anatomical and kinesiological foundations of this area, and the methods of treating these fractures, including physiotherapeutic care for patients diagnosed with a distal radius fracture. The practical part aims to develop a case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient diagnosed with a distal radius fracture, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures guided by knowledge acquired during the bachelor's degree in physiotherapy. Methods The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part is based on a review of professional sources and includes a description of the anatomy and kinesiology of the forearm, as well as a description of fracture-related issues, their classification, specifically focusing on distal radius fractures and their examination, treatment methods, and physiotherapeutic procedures recommended by current professional sources for patients with this diagnosis. Title: A case-study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after a pertrochanteric fracture of the proximal right femur. Thesis aim: This thesis aimed to evaluate the impact of physiotherapy approach provided to a patient who was diagnosed with a pertrochanteric fracture of the proximal right femur. The theoretical knowledge of the anatomical, etiological, and kinesiological basis of the pertrochanteric fracture, with further discussing the related physiotherapeutic approaches will be noted in the first part of the current thesis. Moreover, a second part will handle the practical physiotherapeutic approach to a patient who suffered from proximal right femur pertrochanteric fracture. Clinical findings: This case study is evaluating the condition of a 74-year-old patient who underwent an osteosynthesis surgical procedure after experiencing a per trochanteric fracture of proximal right femur. The assessment took place 7 days post-surgery and illustrated a significant limitation of ROM on the operated side along with several musculoskeletal defects. Možnosti fyzioterapie po frakturách předloktí a ruky
KORBELÁŘOVÁ, Aneta
This bachelor thesis is focused on methods and possibilities that physiotherapy offers to patients after fractures of forearms and hands. It contains informations about the anatomy, characteristics of fractures and subsequent physiotherapy options. The research group consists of three adult patients after a fracture of the forearm and hand. A case report (i.e. research method dealing with description and comparison of similar cases of diseases or injuries) is listed for each of them based on anamnesis and kinesiological analysis. Based on aspect, palpation, and kinesiological analysis, selected probands underwent two months of therapy and a suitable exercise unit was created, which patients regularly exercised at home. After the end of the therapy, an output of kinesiological analysis was written, which, according to obtained values in comparison with the initial kinesiological analysis, confirms a significant improvement in range of motion, mobility and increase in muscle strength of upper limb after the fracture. In patients who initially showed typical elements of poor posture due to the immobility of the injured limb, an improvement in overall posture correction was noticeable after therapy. The aim of this work is primarily to draw attention to the importance of therapeutic rehabilitation after fractures of the forearm and hand. Next, describe the issue of fractures of the forearm and hand and the subsequent possibilities of physiotherapy after removal of fixation. The work can be used as an educational and information material for patients after fractures of the forearm and hand, or for physiotherapists. Another benefit of the work is an educational brochure according to patients after fractures of the forearm and hand can exercise at home as part of autotherapy.
