Role fibroblastového aktivačního proteinu v růstu a invazivitě gliomových buněk
Fejfarová, Edita ; Bušek, Petr (advisor) ; Szabo, Pavol (referee)
High grade astrocytomas are very progressive brain tumors. Glioblastoma multiforme is the most frequent and the most malignant type with very infiltrative phenotype of the tumor cells. Fibroblast activation protein FAP is a predominantly membrane bound prolyl peptidase bearing exo- and endopeptidase hydrolytic activities. FAP is known to play a role in wound healing, cell migration and invasion and its expression is linked to the pathogenesis of several malignancies. mRNA expression of FAP is upregulated in 48% of glioblastomas according to The Cancer Genome Atlas microarray data. The involvement of FAP in the pathogenesis of astrocytic tumors is largely unknown. The aims of this work are to analyse the expression of FAP in primary cell cultures derived from high grade gliomas and to analyse the influence of FAP on the growth, migration and invasion of glioma cells. Our ELISA and western blot results showed heterogenous expression of FAP in the studied glioma primary cell cultures and cell lines. Both enzymatic activities characteristic of FAP were detected in the primary glioma cell culture P11 with high expression of FAP. In these cells, FAP was present not only in the typical plasma membrane localization, but also in the cytoplasm as demonstrated by immunofluorescence staining. The P11 cells...
Postglacial vegetation history of local phenomena in western Bohemia
Švarcová, Markéta Gabriela ; Kuneš, Petr (advisor) ; Kozáková, Radka (referee)
In the sense of postglacial vegetation development, western Bohemia represents one of the least studied regions in the Czech Republic. This area, however, represents a supposed migration route of trees towards northern Europe during the Holocene. The most appropriate area for testing of such proposal might be western Sudetes with Slavkovský les protected landscape area in the Karlovy Vary region. Postglacial vegetation history was studied on the basis of two sedimentary profiles - from the fen bog near Číhanské prameny springs and from the vicinity of Mnichovské hadce serpentines from the nature reserve Mokřady pod Vlčkem. Percentual as well as influx diagrams were constructed on the basis of results of standard pollen analysis. Comparison of these results with the data from other suitable profiles enabled reconstruction of migration history of main tree taxa. The Číhaná profile reflects the period from the Older Dryas up to the Atlantic. The oldest Holocene forest was formed by the dominant Pinus, while Corylus was joining already in the Preboreal. Quercetum mixtum folowed in the begining of the Boreal and spruce quickly gained dominance in the Atlantic. The sedimentation process was probably finished due to rapid accumulation of sediments followed by spontaneous drainage ending with spruce and alder...

The most criticized problems of the Ministry of the Interrior is the failure to meet the statutory deadlines during the processing of applications for long-term stay, the behavior of officers and the queues of immigrants associated with a long waiting. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a problem with VISAPOINT - an internet operation system for...
Counterurbanisation: rhytmus, identities, homes
Šimon, Martin ; Ouředníček, Martin (advisor) ; Čermák, Zdeněk (referee) ; Ptáček, Pavel (referee)
8 Abstract Counterurbanisation research, which is a central topic of this thesis, represents an appropriate field where transformations of contemporary societies and their socio- spatial organization can be examined. The dynamics of social and societal changes creates a demand for developing new methods and tools which helps us to understand contemporary change. Counterurbanisation is a multi-faceted concept which has been controversial since its initial use. An introduction of the concept of counterurbanisation in the field of population geography provoked a general debate on new and emerging trends in development of settlement system. Different logics of concentration and deconcentration of human activities has been challenged. Counterurbanisation operationalized as a migration poses a challenge for many standard conceptualizations of migration. The logic of non-economically motivated migration from the centre to the periphery requires a search for alternative explanatory mechanisms. Impact assessment and the impact of counterurbanisation in rural communities are analogous to the classical social science studies evaluating the integration of immigrants from rural areas in the cities. The thesis is composed of two basic sections. The first section presents a broader theoretical and methodological...

The third part is fully devoted to qualitative synchronous research. Testimonies of Arabs are divided according to their planned length of stay in the Czech Republic and by individual dimensions of social integration, where the hypothesis is a direct proportionality between the intention to be in the Czech Republic for the rest of their lives and the level of integration into the Czech environment.
