Boccia, specifications of the game and possible factors influencing the performance of a player

Title: Boccia, its specifications and possible factors affecting the performance of a player. Aim: The main aim of this thesis is to describe the game boccia as a top level sport. The thesis is also focused on topics connected with the issues of fair play and various factors which might complicate fair play maintaining in this sport. Methodology: In the theoretical part of the thesis boccia is described as a unique sport offering active sport to people with severe physical disabilities - for example spastic quadriplegia. The knowledge of adaptive sport and boccia is briefly summarized. The thesis focuses not only on history, rules, classification, equipment but the interesting aspects such as feelings of players and doubts of spectators are described too. Boccia is defined as a game of many specifications which might be considered as interfering with fair play. The empirical part presents a qualitative research. It's based on processed semi- structured interviews with committed top level boccia players. The research included interviews with 10 players, 2 women and 8 men. Sheltered housing for people with physical disabilities

Diplomová práce "Chráněné bydlení pro osoby s fyzickým postižením" se věnuje aspektům, které zasahují do vzniku a úspěšného poskytování této služby. Jedná se o aktuální otázku, která je v souladu s cíli probíhajícího procesu transformace sociálních služeb, který směřuje k individualizaci sociální péče a přechodu ke komunitnímu typu pobytových služeb s důrazem na sociální začlenění uživatelů, což by služba chráněného bydlení měla pomoci naplnit. Prvotním záměrem práce bylo prozkoumat využití, případně absenci, metodických materiálů ve vztahu k chráněnému bydlení a na základě těchto zjištění navrhnout jejich úpravy či doplnění. Dále nahlédnout do důvodů, které způsobují nedostatek chráněného bydlení pro osoby s fyzickým postižením oproti možnostem pro osoby s postižením mentálním. Data byla sbírána prostřednictvím hloubkových rozhovorů s poskytovateli chráněného bydlení (či jejich zástupci) a analyzována dle principů kvalitativního výzkumu pomocí otevřeného, axiálního a selektivního kódování. V průběhu sběru a analýzy dat vyplynulo, že poskytovatelé metodické materiály příliš nevyužívají a neudávali tedy jejich výrazný dopad na praxi. Stimulation of physically disabled individuals using dance and its techniques

This thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with individuals with physical disabilities and limitations resulting therefrom, characteristics of selected types of physical disability and dance as a therapeutic method. The practical part consists of the possibility of applying dance techniques for clients with physical disabilities and the possibility of conducting a dance lesson. The following is part of the research that deals with dance as a means of stimulation and its effects on people with physical disabilities. Comparison of therapeutic concepts and their results at people with physical disability

This master thesis introduces the issue of individual concepts that affect the psychological and motor processes, occurring at people with physical disabilities. It addresses the definition of the basic concepts within both historical and present context. The thesis considers what kind of connection and relationships exist behind the failures of the body scheme and the human psyche, and in greater detail deals with methods that work to improve the quality of life for a person with a physical disability. The research part establishes the situation of comprehensive rehabilitation in the Czech Republic. It is developed according to the preliminary areas: lifelong learning, the status of the comprehensive rehabilitation and procedures used in caring for a person with a physical disability. Communication Possibilities of Children with Infantile Cerebral Palsy

The aim of this thesis is to attempt to summarize what communication possibilities children suffering from a serious form of infantile cerebral palsy have, to describe them and possibly to clarify what exactly restricts these possibilities. The thesis also tries to answer the question in what way the communication of these individuals differs from the communication of intact persons. The core of the thesis resides in a theoretical exposition which deals - among others - with the communication process and its verbal and non-verbal parts, the diagnostic characterization of the infantile cerebral palsy and the impaired communication ability in symptomatic speech disorders which are associated with this disability. It describes how especially mobility impairment and mental retardation are reflected in the way and possibilities of communication. Special attention is paid to methods of alternative and augmentative communication which can be used as a therapy in the stimulation of the development of communication and speech skills, and which very often represent one of few possible ways of communicating for persons with this disability. Offer of leisure-time physical activities for children with disability in the district of Czech Budweis

The aim of this thesis is to provide news about the offer recreational activities for children with mental and physical disability aged 8-15 years in the district of Czech Budweis . The research includes organizations and centers primarily designed for intact children, and my goal will be to find out whether children with disabilities can integrate into these activities. In its theoretical level, the thesis deals with issues of mental and physical disability. Other topics of theoretical part include leisure time physical activities and the very characteristic of the region Czech Budweis. The second part - practical - part of the bachelor thesis - deals with the research in the region Czech Budweis. There was used a public inquiry for the research, which should map the leisure-time physical activities in the region Czech Budweis designed for children with mental and physical disability at the age of 8-15 years. 26 Trainers, 15 Directors, 30 parents of disabled children and 40 intact children took part on the research survey. All research assumptions were confirmed.

Title: Changes in preparation exercises in handbike riders training Objectives: The aim of work is to collect and systematically process available information about sports discipline handbike and thereby expand knowledge about the theory and sport practice especially to persons with physical disabilities Methods: Implementation of data collection was accomplished through semi- structured interview (interview with instructions). Information gathering was carried out by one-time survey (testimony) of respondents. There was carried out repeated terrain inquiries of the respondents, followed by evaluation of statements. Results: Findings of this work form information about sports discipline known as handbike and allow insight into the issues of this sports industry. Primarily it deals with the material aspects and implementation of training program. Findings of this work can be used to popularize handbike discipline. PaedDr. Vanda Hájková, Ph.D. Abstract This paper attends to the issues concerning children with physical and combined disabilities, and the possibilities for their education. It briefly summarizes the issues of physical and combined disabilities, and explains the difficulties that these children might experience during the course of their education and that should be anticipated during the education process. The second part of this paper enlightens the forms of primary education available for these children. Furthermore, it describes the general and academic educational programmes that primary schools follow today. Within the framework of special education, the institution Jedlička Institute in Prague (JÚŠ) is briefly introduced. In conclusion, this paper presents research conducted on and mapping the progress of students of JÚŠ special primary school and records from the documentation of these children.
