Gender-sensitive Literary Analysis of Richard Yates's novel The Revolutionary Road

In the thesis "Gender Literary Analysis of the novel Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates" a qualitative interpretative analysis with aspects of discourse analysis is used to interpret the plot and characters from a gender perspective. These interpretations are based on the "resistant reading" method introduced by Judith Fetterley. The literary analysis concepts introduced by Pam Morris and Elaine Showalter are also used as a point of reference. The aim for the application of Gender as a methodological category is to reveal and find new potential meanings and interpretations of the whole story and its characters with respect to their gender identity. The key areas that are focused on are motherhood, emancipation.
Toxoplasma and Host's Reproductive Function

Toxoplasma gondii (Apicomplexa) is probably one of the most common human parasite in developed countries. It has a wide range of hosts including a variety of warm-blooded animals as well as humans. In this bachelor thesis you can find review of literature focusing on an influence of T. gondii on host's reproductive functions. Toxoplasmosis is accompanied by hormonal changes which may be one reason for the negative effect on host's fertility. Throughout the thesis are mentioned immunosuppression and reduced quality control of embryos associated with T. gondii. Both of these phenomena probably affect pregnancy, prenatal and postnatal development of the offsprings of mothers with latent toxoplasmosis. And these also play a role in shifting of sex ratio in infected hosts.
Phenomenon of mizuko in Japanese society

The main purpose of this thesis is to examine the coping of japanese society with the fate of unborn children, called mizuko, and how this reflects the changes in contemporary society. At first, the general problem of abortion is being examined along with the moral stands which are closely related to the problem of abortion. This requires examining the nature of religion more closely, especially the thoughts about the beginning and the end of human life. In the second part of the thesis, the phenomenon mizuko kuyō is being examined more closely, specifically its history and symbols relating to mizuko. Lastly, the phenomenon is integrated into the context of contemporary society, mostly in the form of criticism towards the social, religion, and political sphere.
Abortion comitees in Czechoslovakia from point of view of involved sides

My thesis deals with reproductive politics of socialist Czechoslovakia, focusing on the effect of abortion committees decision and its members in matter of legality of abortions since 1957. The theoretical part summarize knowledge about reproductive policy of socialist Czechoslovakia and the effect of abortion committees. The empirical part includes interviews with witnesses who had personal experience with abortion committees. Interviews are analyzed by means of encryption techniques inspired by grounded theory. The thesis includes analysis of six interviews with applicant of abortion, one interview with a partner of the applicant, five interviews with doctors - gynecologists and one with a former member of abortion committee. This thesis also process documents of National population comitee regarding on abortion comitees issues. The issue of abortions in Indonesia

Jana Horčičková, Problematika potratů v Indonésii Abstract: This thesis identifies and defines the basic framework of termination of pregnancy with a focus on attitude towards abortion in the Indonesian society. In the introduction is mentioned general background of this issue from the perspective of Indonesian multi-religious society, which has historically evolved from the animist cults through thecolonial regime toa democratic organization of the state.Further, there are other topics on the current status of abortion in Indonesia, a description of the valid legislative framework and public attitudes to issues related to induced abortion. The aim is to provide acomprehensive overview of the current aspects of pregnancy termination and indicate possible trends of development with an emphasis on the modernization of society as well as the impact of new medical technologies, including prevention possibilities.
Legal aspects of abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction

Název diplomové práce v anglickém jazyce: Legal aspects of abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction Summary: The thesis deals with the three topics from the field of medical law, particularly abortion, sterilization and assisted reproduction. The issue of giving birth is the key here. The new Special Medical Services Act regulating, inter alia, some aspects of sterilization and assisted reproduction came into effect in April 2012. The previous regulation of these matters was outdated and some legal issues were not tackled at all. The first part of the thesis focuses on legal regulation of abortion, which is contained in the act from 1986 and in the implementing legislation. Especially the conditions of intervention itself, payments and intervention on juveniles (under 18) and foreigners in the Czech Republic are tackled. The regulation of other countries is mentioned and compared as well. The second part of the thesis deals with the legal regulation of sterilization, conditions of sterilization and contraindication as well. The specific problem of illegal sterilizations of gypsy women in the second half of the twentieth century is pointed out. Right to live vs. unnatural termination of life

The aim of this thesis is to clarify the concept of the right to life in the legislative in the Czech Republic and in abroad with a comparison with its unnatural end, while abortion and euthanasia. This work is primarily devoted to law regulation of these institutes, but also covers other aspects such as religion, philosophy and science. It is designed so that each and every chapter is in its introductory section devoted to the formulation of the topic, the historical development in the Czech Republic but also abroad, it introduces the possible procedures and attitudes, it mentions for example and briefly compares similar institutes. Other parts of the diploma deal with legislation whether the right to life, abortion or euthanasia, provides comparison of domestic legislation with internationals. In light of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights points the views and attitudes on the subject at the international level. The final section is then evaluated core issues especially from the standpoint of law.

The diploma thesis deals with the selected aspects of the dilemma of the basic human right according to Declaration of Basic Rights, paragraph 6. It focuses mainly on controversial themes such as euthanasia, abortion and death penalty. It provides readers with the definition of the conflict of these three perspectives with breaking the right to life. It shows historical development of the enactment in the Czech Republic and also in the international context. Last but not least, it describes the attitude of selected states (namely Germany, USA and China) to the solution of conflict relations within this area. The attitude of other states is foreshadowed in terms of euthanasia and abortion.
