Is there a relation between arts and quality of life?

This work discusses the potential of art to influence quality of life. The theoretical part introduces general aesthetic-psychological principles, thanks to which art work can appeal to us, having the goal of expressing what is typical and essential for art as a whole, and introduce art work as a place of meeting and a challenge for personal growth with the goal to distinguish it, through this characteristic, from other ways of spending free time. Furthermore, the theoretical part briefly introduces the development of the concept of quality of life including the definition of its overlapping to the philosophical anchoring in the conception of humanistic, phenomenological and positive psychology, and it presents research, which, at least indirectly, deals with the topic of art and quality of life. The actual research part compares the subjectively perceived quality of life of people interested in art (conservatory students, n = 73) with a comparative group (high school students, n = 66), with a focus on the present situation as well as future expectations. The research results show that the conservatory students attain higher values attesting higher perceived quality of life. However, in order to deduce the chain of causation it is necessary to conduct further research in this area.

Humans no/creative interventions into Landscape

This Bachelor's thesis is intended to be a theoretical study focusing on the visually creative aspects of the topic and the application thereof in the field of teaching. The aim has been to examine human intervention in the landscape and to get behind the concept of "(no-) creativity". I have attempted to use theoretical and creative knowledge to devise individual lesson series, which primarily explore the relationship between children and their environment. The purpose of these series is to stimulate pupils' interest in their surroundings, encouraging them to notice details and changes, and to awaken their capacity for reflection, so that they become more closely in touch with their surroundings, thereby having a positive effect on their future behaviour, not just towards their own immediate surroundings but to nature in general. Bachelor thesis Visual manipulations not only in art - art education and contemporary medium Lucie Culková, april 2012 Abstract This bachelor thesis is a theoretical study on visual manipulation. Study briefly describes the development of classical and digital photography and concentrates on the possibilities of editing in both types of pictures. Individual photographic manipulation techniques are described here using examples in context of today's world. Study further describes the utilization of manipulating photographs in the media and in the works of known domestic and international artists. Findings from the theoretical study are used as a basis for the pedagogical part of the work, which contains several themes for art classes on elementary school. Practical part features set of photographic manipulations, which uses techniques of image manipulation mentioned in the theoretical study. It also features project, which describes the image manipulation on advertisement covers used for food packing. The goal of this study is to introduce individual methods of image manipulation in different areas of human work.

The work is focused on the old part of the town, where many monuments, buildings, walls, columns are marked by this art. The work presents graffiti in all its forms, both legal and illegal and tries to figure out where is the border between vandalism and art, then investigates the graffiti author's relationship to history, to other people's property, the attitudes of the population towards this subculture and the expression in spray. Journey - Mountain to circumvention

This thesis presents my personal view of the art and the world around us. Primary issue is the understanding of life and art as a journey and an infinite search. Based on this perspective, the specific topics like art, forms and means of expression, symbolism, concept of a journey, time and work of different artists are being surveyed both generally and specifically. Through the survey of those topics, connections and coherences are being found. This thesis also consists of an analysis of my own art work (painting) and my didactic praxis together with a subject of didactics. The elements of contemplation penetrate the entire thesis.
