Strengthened by Sirens
Nikitina, Pavla ; Horáková, Jana (referee) ; Medek, Tomáš (advisor)
The diploma thesis "Hardened by Sirens" focuses on telling stories through sculptural realisation. These stories are taken from the new phase of the Russian-Ukrainian war that started in 2022. I created the sculptures based on 3D scans as a reportage of events caused by the war. In my work, I followed up on an earlier sculptural project-study entitled "5 Minutes", which was created in 2019 in the context of my bachelor’s studies at FFA BUT. The sub-heading to the study read "3D war reportage ". In the textual part of the master’s thesis, I also focus on the concept of 3D reportage and the various possibilities it offers me as an artist working on the border of the genre of reportage and social documentary.
Children with a different mother tongue in preschool education
LYKEŠOVÁ, Erika
The aim of the thesis is to describe the adaptation of children with a different mother tongue to preschool education. Under the term children with OMJ, children from Ukraine who began to enter the Czech education system during the year 2022 due to the war conflict are specifically chosen for the diploma thesis. The theoretical part is divided into four chapters, which contain the theoretical basis for the subject matter and are significantly connected with the practical part of the diploma thesis. The content is a definition of the basic concepts of the issue of children with a different mother tongue and characterization of typical developmental aspects in preschool education. Among other things, the theoretical part includes possibilities for support during education and methods of communication, which are suitable to use during language adaptation and development. The practical part deals with qualitative research on the issues defined above. The first part of the qualitative research involves semi-structured interviews with teachers of selected kindergartens in České Budějovice. The second part of the research is participant observation, which took place in one of the private kindergartens also in České Budějovice. The benefit of the thesis can be inspirational for kindergarten teachers who participate in the education of children with a different mother tongue, specifically children from Ukraine. The conclusion of the diploma thesis summarizes the issue of children with a different mother tongue and their adaptation in preschool.
Migrace a kriminalita na území České republiky
Blahovská, Jana
This thesis deals with the crime of immigrants in the Czech Republic. The thesis is mainly aimed to evaluate the influence of foreigners in crime with an emphasis on the causes and effects of social and economic areas of the Czech Republic. To meet the needs of milestones and visual comparison of the thesis I have chosen a group of migrants from Ukraine and Vietnam. Especially because of he growing influx of migrants from these two countries. The issue of juvenile migrants is among the topics that should be paid attention in both scientific and practical areas with an emphasis on increasing the number of solved cases falling into crime. Globalization processes, which involve a greater openness of borders and better infrastructure, among other things, help to develop international organized crime, which is closely associated with migration and is a big thread in the area of public safety. The results of this work show that the incentive to emigrate from the motherland are mainly economic reasons and effects of crime can be observed particularly in tax evasion and also the image of public opinion of the Czech Republic on migrants, which is reflected in the integration of migrants.

KUTSYNA, Valeriy
In 2018 - 2020, 1366 samples of serum from immunocompetent patients, including 860 sera from the Czech Republic and 506 sera from Ukraine, were collected and examined by an indirect ELISA test to detect specific IgG antibodies against Cryptosporidium in human population. Age, sex, and relevant data on previous cryptosporidial infections were obtained from each patient. Oocysts of C. parvum, 105 oocysts per well, were used as a corpuscular antigen. Blood serum samples and secondary antibodies were diluted 1:200 and 1: 20,000, respectively. The age range of patients varied from newborn infant to 89 years old. A total of 639 male and 709 female patients were examined. The resutts showed number of serologically positive patients increased with age. Moreover, females had higher seropositivity than males, regardless of nationality. Additionally, Czechs were more often positive than Ukrainians. The results showed less than 20 % of patients under 15 years of age were seropositive. In patients older than 15 years the seroprevalence ranged from 20 to 42 %, except the age group 41 - 50 years old, where seroprevalence was 50 %.

Hybrid threats: Best practices to counter mis/disinformation and propaganda
Lopez, Antoine Louis Marie ; Střítecký, Vít (advisor) ; Ludvík, Jan (referee)
This thesis examines the extent of Russian information warfare efforts targeted at the West in recent years, highlighting the strategic use of information warfare by Russia to destabilize the West. Information warfare, which consists of but is not limited to disinformation, misinformation, demoralization, and psychological operations, as well as the overall concept of revisionism, and sources of revisionist thought in modern Russia, are detailed through a theoretical discussion. This discussion highlights the cultural and geographically based notions that blur a wholistic understanding of these concepts, particularly in their Russian application. Four case studies, focusing on Russian information warfare attempts surrounding COVID-19, migration crises, and the ongoing war in Ukraine, serve to demonstrate the danger posed by Russia's information warfare capabilities, by analyzing the origins, goals, targets, and methods of these attempts. The research conducted leads to multiple conclusions. First, Russian information warfare campaigns are successful when they exploit existing feelings or emotions but have so far not been able to create entirely new ones, whether anger or fear. Second, recent proactive efforts to thwart Russian information warfare in the West have so far been successful. Third,...
