Sedláková, Dana ; Vaculíková, Barbora (advisor) ; Slanina, Petr (referee)
8 ABSTRACT This thesis discusses the theme: "The principles of the safe administration of medication and it's impact on the quality of care". This work is divided into two sections - theoretical and practical. The main purpose of the theroretical part is to focus on recapping the theories of quality in healthcare, especially in terms of safety for patients during medication administration. The drugs are the most frequently used therapeutic means of the modern medicine and therefore the topic of safe administration is so often the matter of discussion. Theoretical part of my thesis defines quality in healthcare and also includes chapters about methods for improving the quality and standardization of health care. This work presents an effective tools for dealing with misconducts and describes possible reasons and causes of patient's harm during the administration processes. The practical part of the thesis is dedicated to the content analysis of the selected nursing standards from hospitals within the Czech Republic. The main objective of this thesis is to compare the formal and practical aspects of nursing standards (injection administration) in three different health care facilities with regards to the structural, procedural and results criteria. The results of the content analysis are compared with respect...
Eight color flow cytometry test development for primary imunodeficiency patients
Šinkorová, Vendula ; Kalina, Tomáš (advisor) ; Brdička, Tomáš (referee)
Primary immunodeficiencies represent a heterogeneous group of hereditary immune system malfunctions with very variable causes and symptoms. Multiparametric flow cytometry has become an important tool in primary immunodeficiency diagnostics and research because it provides detailed information on the phenotype of individual immune cells and their proportions in circulation. We have developed a complex monoclonal antibody panel composed of five eight-color tubes which is designed for immunophenotyping of basic lymphocyte subsets and further analysis of B and T cell subpopulations. We have optimized and standardized the panels so they will identify any changes originating from primary immunodeficiencies and provide comparable data on the level of cooperation between more laboratories. This was achieved by cooperation of six European research facilities which are all parts of the Euroflow consortium. The panels have been validated both on peripheral blood samples from healthy donors and patients with either gentically defined primary immunodeficiency or common variable immunodeficiency. Keywords: T lymphocyte, B lymphocyte, primary immunodeficiency, flow cytometry, immunophenotyping, Euroflow, optimization, standardization
Role of the nurse in the administration of drugs in the workplace intensive care
Todorová, Monika ; Prošková, Eva (advisor) ; Kordulová, Pavla (referee)
This thesis deals with the role of nurses in the administration of drugs in the intensive care unit. The goal is to find consistency between the legal and factual state of drug administration, ie analyze, what are the non-medical healthcare professionals authorized in accordance with applicable legislation and internal regulations of the medical device to do and what they are actually able to perform safely. The theoretical part defines the terms related to the administration of medicines. I deal with the skills of paramedical staff, indications of medicines, their administration, pharmacotherapy, mistakes and evaluation of the quality and safety of health services. The theoretical part deals with the current status of this issue and also provides insight into the history of drug administration. In the empirical part of the thesis I work with the results that I received questionnaires. Respondents are nurses, paramedics, nurses of leading nursing management and physicians. Individual items are analyzed and used to answer defined research questions. The research implies that the nurse of nursing management are able to organize an intensive care unit activities and maintain procedures, to ensure quality and safe administration of medicines. General nurses and paramedics are able to meet the doctor's...
Selected approaches of climate-growth relationship determination of trees
Pekař, Ondřej ; Treml, Václav (advisor) ; Ponocná, Tereza (referee)
Presented bachelor thesis describes the use of tree-ring widths in dendroclimatology and main approaches of climate variables reconstruction. It reviews the basics about climate influence on tree- ring fromation and extraction of climate signal from tree-rings. Main standartization methods were used to develop 26 standard and residual chronologies from adjusted and not adjusted tree-ring series coming from high-elevation Norway sporuce stands. Chronologies were compared in terms of correlation with summer temperatures. The best correlated temperature variable were the June-July temperatures both for standard and residual chronologies. Tree-ring width chronologies were scaled to observed June-July temperatures. Based on comparison of scaled and real June-July temperatures, negative exponential function and RCS method appear to be the most suitable to preserve both high and low frequency climate signal. Key words: Dendroclimatology, tree-rings chronology, standardization, climate reconstruction
The importance of the undertaking's dominant position under the Competition law of the EU and its delimitation
Šedová, Klára ; Scheu, Harald Christian (advisor) ; Šmejkal, Václav (referee)
The purpose of this master thesis is to define the term "dominant position" of an undertaking under the EU Competition Law and to find out, what circumstances are decisive in order to be able to identify existence of a dominant position. The second part of the thesis focuses on actual problems connected with the dominant undertakings, namely the standardization and the effectiveness of the interventions of competition authorities into the actions of dominant undertakings on rapidly developing IT markets. The thesis deals with the concept of dominant position and does not address particular types of abusive behaviour enumerated in Article 102 (a) - (d) TFEU. The first chapter briefly describes the system of EU Competition Law. The focus is directed on agreements distorting competition (Art. 101 TFEU), abuse of dominant position (Art. 102 TFEU) and control of concentrations between undertakings (Council Regulation No. 139/2004). The second chapter looks at the term "dominant position" of an undertaking and its delimitations. The subchapters describe definition of relevant market, market share, market power and other market conditions which shall be taken into account in the dominant position analysis. Space is further devoted to the existing dominant position on the neighbouring market and to the...
The social pressure to have slim and shaped body present in public places
Mixová, Kristýna ; Holeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Uhl, Michal (referee)
Bachelor thesis is trying to concrete the pressure to have slim and shaped body which is present in public places. Theoretical sources of the text are terms of Elias Canetti - order and judgement, and terms of Theodor W. Adorno - standardization and competition. The text is trying to answer, how the character of these terms looks like in the context of the pressure to have slim and shaped body. The methodology is qualitative research based on fieldnotes from walking through the city. The main findings of the text are that the main characteristic of order in context of social pressure to have slim and shaped body is unambiguity and the fact that the order instructs the way. For judgement is typical the evaluation and dividing people into two group based on their size Competition is present in competing in slimming, in competiting of beauty and in the advantages of helping to make the slim and shaped body easier. In standardization there is important the change in appearance of human body and the information that other people are involved in having a slim and shaped body
Czechoslovak musical elite in the late eighties and early nineties of the 20th century
Matějíček, František ; Havel, Jan (advisor) ; Houda, Přemysl (referee)
At the turn of the eighties' and nineties' of the 20th century, correspondingly to the whole social scale, significant changes happened on the domestic music scene. The musical and the creative elite were confronted with the Anglo-American production, and were forced, in a number of cases, to come up with the alternative ways of expressing themselves under the new circumstances. The goal of this thesis is to compare and contrast the situation on the domestic scene during the period right before the November 1989 and the period to follow; based on the various testimonies of popular Czechoslovakian musicians. The research aims to collect the information regarding contemporary popularity of the Czechoslovakian modern music and authors from the eighties'. I'm trying to verify if the critique perspective of one part of the public experts on the allegiance of the musical elite and the ideology of the pre-November regime is justified or not. At the same time, the thesis follows the fortune of the music stars in relation to the changing social order and, in addition to it, establish the basis for the study of the further research in the field.
Security of Biometric Systems
První přístup je z oblasti testování živosti a znemožňuje použití různých typů falešných otisků prstů a jiných metod oklamání senzoru v průběhu procesu snímání otisků.
Improving labour productivity: How to determine standard time for performing specific tasks in the selected organization
BARTOŠKOVÁ, Martina
This bachelor thesis focuses on the standard time needed for specific tasks in the selected organization, as well as on the appropriate methods for its determination. The findings serve as a basis for the formulation of measures which should be taken to improve labour productivity. The methods include the standardization of tasks, time study and computer-based data analysis (Microsoft Excel spreadsheets). The theoretical part of the paper discusses the nature of job production, the methods appropriate for the calculation of standard production time and the ways to ensure efficient work and time management in the given factory. Apart from these, a complete description (history, facility layout, pre-production and production stages, machines and materials) of the selected organization is provided to serve as a background for the case study presented in the practical part. This includes the list of production tasks, production time tables and time standards along with materials necessary to facilitate production. The aim of the thesis is to help the organization improve its labour productivity and provide it with the algorithm which can be used to determine production time for similar orders.
