Managerial skills

The main focus of the thesis entitled Managerial skills are various areas of managerial skills which are essential for management of certain working positions and therefore necessary for efficient functioning of the whole organization. It addresses issues of the current level of managerial skills and their possible reinforcement in future. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part consists of theoretical sources dealing with topics such as manager´s personality profile, his or her personality features, knowledge and competences, and last but not least managerial roles and functions. The attention is mainly paid to soft managerial skills. The second, analytical part, characterizes a chosen company and then performs analysis of the current level of employees´ managerial skills at one working position. This analysis is based on data acquired from a questionnaire research and a pen and paper interview with an employee of the organization. On the basis of foregone steps some proposals are set for strengthening the researched managerial skills in the organization. Implementation of these enhancements assumes simultaneous increase in the standards of several employees´ soft skills, which can positively influence the quality and increase of their performance and as a result improve the functioning of the whole organization.

This thesis pays attention to managing skills and their influence on a working performance. The purpose of each organization is focused on the highest possible productivity. Highly competent and qualified managers are necessary in order to reach this goal. The first part of the thesis includes theoretical foundations based on the expert bibliography. The main terms concerning the management and the performance are described here. It includes the definition of the term "the manager" and what his/her skills, roles and tasks are. Further the Česká správa sociálního zabezpečení (the Czech Social Services, state organization) organization is described here. The analysis of a questionnaire concerning the management skills and their level and importance for the organization and the working performance follows. The final part of the thesis describes the conclusions of the questionnaire and the recommendations of what management skills are recommended to be improved in order to increase the productivity of the organization.
Managerial competencies

The diploma thesis is focused on the topic of managerial competencies and competency models, as a particular combination of competencies that are necessary for the effective performance of the work. Managerial competencies are in this thesis specifically focused on the competencies of the project manager. The aim of the diploma thesis is based on an analysis to identify the competencies of the project manager and on this basis to develop generic competency model of project manager. The theoretical basis of the work is focused mainly on the issues of the concept of competence, the development, use and types of competencies. Further are processed concepts of the area of managerial competencies and project management on the basis of literature and Internet resources on this topic. Own part is based on analysis of documents, which is the basis for compiling the survey, whose result is a list of selected competencies important for work as a project manager. Based on the list of important competencies is compiled generic competency model project manager. In conclusion summarizes the results from own part.

The Bachelor thesis is devoted to a topic "Management skills". The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part describes briefly the stages of development from the beginnings till 21st century and levels of management from the first degree to the highest one which it is possible to divide managers into. It characterizes a profile and a manager´s personality which is considered to be a key factor on the way to a success in a modern management. It defines a term manager, characterizes managerial planning functions, an organization, a personal security, management and a supervision which managers carry out during their activity. It depicts managerial roles which are needed for a performance of a certain work in a relation to subordinates, superiors or colleagues. It describes requested skills of a manager who is actively involved in a managing of the business. In conclusion it characterizes a hierarchical structure of relations among individual jobs within organizing divisions and relations among divisions within an organization. The practical part represents a selected organization. By using a method of a questionnaire survey a selected group of respondents in the organization was given a questionnaire personally. Data were collected anonymously and evaluated. On the grounds of the answers in the questionnaires there were recommended improvements in managerial skills with a possibility of an application leading towards a strengthening of skills, a personal growth and a contribution of a development and meeting the targets of the organization.
Competency of a Manager in a Multicultural Environment of Tesco Stores CR

My diploma thesis is focused on analysis of competency of a Czech manager working in a multicultural environment of company Tesco Stores CR, a.s. Essence of the work is comparison of environments and the proposal of what competencies a manager should have to create and maintain the efficiency of a company and a manager in a multicultural environment. Essence of the practical part is comparison of two cultures Czech and Indic and competency model proposal, which should contribute to better mutual cooperation and cultural barier overcome.

The aim of this thesis was to determine the competencies should students or graduates of universities with economic focus, to have. Based on these findings have been recommended and proposed activities, which should lead to improved professional development of students of EF JU and their better employability. The main method to determine the competencies required to survey. Another part of this thesis is to analyze the situation on the labor market with a focus on the graduates of universities with more detailed specification of graduates? economic fields.

In my bachelor thesis I have dealt with key competences according to which we can divide managers into two main groups: successful managers and the average ones. The aim of the thesis was to find out what kind of competences are required by most employers from students newly graduated from the faculties focused on teaching managerial disciplines, how are their expectations met, and to what extent the graduates of the Faculty of Management are equipped with these required skills after having graduated from the Faculty of VŠE in Jindřichův Hradec.
