Analysis of Czech dailies' content in relation to political parties during election campaign before municipal elections in Prague

Diploma Thesis "Analysis of Czech dailies' content in relation to political parties during election campaign before municipal elections in Prague" presupposes that media and politics influence each other very strongly. In the theoretical part it first presents the media's role in society and describes the journalists' role evolution. Using the concept of mediatization it explains the media and political logic(s) inter-relation. In the next chapter it presents the historical development of political communication with regards to its ongoing transformation. After that it explains several concepts that are used when describing this process. Particularly it presents the concept of personalization and describes its two forms followed by definitions and critical evaluation of the concepts. In the empirical part it first presents the parties, dailies and municipal elections in the Czech Republic. Using the research method of quantitative content analysis it tries to find out the amount of attention/space that parties and candidates got in the newspapers during eleven weeks before the municipal elections in Prague in 2010. As a second step it tries to find out the level of personalization and its pre-defined forms. In the final part it presents the results and suggests possible extensions of the research.

Each of the topic is described on the theoretical base, then the historical development of using this technic by political parties is mentioned, and finally relevant criticism of this concept (related to the problems of the definition of the concept, or to the normative reflections on democratic political systém) is noticed. Comparative analysis of political communication made by Czech political parties in 2010 elections is made to identify the level of using each of three concepts mentioned above. This thesis deals with the extension of the bachelor's thesis Movie Database. I focus on the practical application of data mining as well as the personalization of this information system. In data mining, I will use the data accrued during the operation site. The introduction summarizes the concepts of data mining. In the second section  outlines new developments in web applications followed by an overview and description of the new site's features.  The last chapters are devoted to  the description of the design and the implementation of data mining techniques. The conclusion gives the achieved results.

This thesis presents principles of transmission of digital television broadcasting via satellite placed in orbit of Earth. It also focuses on the satellite receiver as an important part of satellite systems. It mention receiver’s firmware and deals with design and implementation of satellite receiver’s application.  The aim is to create an application that will personalize satellite receiver by monitoring TV stations that have been watched.

Thesis is focused on the economical and personal impact of the two merged secondary schools - Hotel school Světlá and Business Academy Velké Meziříčí with the Secondary School of Crafts and Services Velké Meziříčí. The object of this research is whether this two merged groups perceive their status as equal. This research is founded by a questionnaire survey, which holds a key part of the work. Based on the results, I suggested possible improvements in school management and human resources.

This bachelor thesis aims to describe what is meant by term Intelligent Personal Assistant and what are the capabilities of this technology nowadays. The technology is being presented in the context of following topics: Internet and the Artificial Intelligence. These topics are commonly associated with few problems and risks. The problems connected with Internet and Artificial Intelligence might be inherited by the technology of Intelligent Personal Assistants (IPA) and because of other aspects of the technology, the risk of outcomes that may be potentialy harmful can be even higher with IPA than originaly. This thesis aims to define problems connected with privacy and addiction. It describes risks that arise from delegating mans work to a machine and potential danger of giving a machine personality traits. Eventually, the thesis suggests a possible solution.
