Between the Landscape and the City

The subject of the thesis was to prepare an architectural and urban design of the entrance space at the premises of the Palacky University Faculty of Natural Sciences in Olomouc - Holice. The proposal focuses on understanding the place of life of students and scientists. The main proposed building is based on a golden section - not only architectural matter, but also the contents of the buildings works with an understanding of the importance of education. Communicating knowledge to future generations. The current state of the site is created by a spontaneous development without a closer urban solution. The new object is positioned in a position that creates a clear, dominating character, but also respects the current state. The object focuses on meeting people with an idea, over a book or in a circle of study college. In contrast to that, relaxation and relaxation in the countryside appear. This is the inspiration for the creation of a building, while there is a certain rationality in the choice of architectural expression. The interface between the city (man-made) and nature is represented by a disk-dialogue forum. The spiritual overlapping of the architectural expression will allow us to understand the interface and potential of the site on the outskirts of Olomouc. City - nature

Multipurpose facility Olomouc

The subject of the project is a new multipurpose facility building in the cadastral area Nová Ulice, the city of Olomouc, district Olomouc. The house is a detached building on Zirmova street follow on Mošnerova street. In this street has a few residential houses, which have affected some of the parameters of the object. In particular, this is the position, number of floors and the size of the balcony. The building has five storey, one under-ground and four above ground. In the basement there are storage facilities and machinery space elevator. In the first floor is designed to place the Café and handicapped-accessible apartment. In the second and third floors are two 3-room and one 2-room apartments and in the last floor are two three-bedroom apartments. On each floor of the Chamber for each apartment can be accessed from the corridor. Furthermore, each apartment has a balcony accessible from the living room. The roof is flat, with aggravating layer of fluvial gravel. Parking is provided in the immediate vicinity of the object in the parking lot.

OLOMOUC – Densification Urbaine – Urban Consolidation

The diploma thesis aims to project a new building for Olomouc Research Library. This library is the third largest library of its kind in Czech republic, however according to the area for the readers, it's one of the smallests and it's currently divided into three separate buildings. The aim of this project is to design a complex, open and easily accessible library. A building, that will connect all the existing operation and will offer spaces to studying, work, personal development or social interactions, as quality work environment for the employees. The library is located in an important area on tř. Svobody, where the historic centre meets with blocks from Camillo Sitte and two parks. The proposed volume complements the existing compact structure, creates a new gateway to the city and connects the two parks. The building itself consists of three parts - the public, the stuff and the books. Being a stable element, the books are placed in the form of a depository on the northwesten edge of the plot to Aksamitova street. The areas for the public and the employees are oriented towards the park and the city street. The facades are mostly glazed shielded by expanded metal panels. The designed building is transparent and offers the passers-by a view into the bowels of either the library or the robotic depository.

Construction-Technological Project of the Mixed-Use Building in Olomouc

This diploma thesis deals with construction-technological project of mixed-use building in Olomouc. The thesis contains a technical report, the coordination situation of the construction, the time and financial plan, the study of the main technological stages, the project of site equipment, the design of the main building machines and mechanisms, the time schedule, the budget, the technology prescription for the contact thermal insulation systém, the quality control and test plan, the plan of safety and the comparison of ETICS with polystyrene and mineral wool.

Akustic of the musical club

This master’s thesis deals with the problems of interior acoustics. Within the scope of the thesis measurements were taken, followed by 3D modeling and subsequent design modifications of Olomouc acoustic music club Metro. The calculations used a specialized software (Odeon Room Acoustics Program). The result of the work is a proposal of suitable reconstruction and acoustic treatment, which will be achieved by optimalization of reverberation time, in an effort to improve the physical properties of the object.

Mixed-use building

This diploma thesis deals with the design of the new polyfunctional residency building in Olomouc. Object has square shape and five upper floors and basement. Building is designed as a stand-alone building comprising three operational units. In the first floor is located a café and a bookstore and separate building entry. In the second floor are located offices and the rest of the building is formed with total 12 housing units with different layouts and sizes. In the basement are located cellars for housing units and utility room. The object is designed with separate parking lot. Vertical support system is formed by reinforced concrete skeleton and filling masonry from ceramic fittings Porotherm. Horizontal support system is formed by beams and ceiling slabs from reinforced concrete. Object is based on foundation footings made from reinforced concrete. Roof is designed as a single-shell flat roof. Object is insulated with mineral wool and a ventilated facade made of fiber-cement slabs is designed. The work contains a documentation and design part and is processed as a documentation for the costruction execution.

Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urban processes in strategic planning of city development

JAROSLAV BURIAN Abstract in English "Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urbanization processes in strategic planning of city development" PhD thesis represents original author's approach to the modeling of urban processes by using GIS in Olomouc region. In theoretical part, urban processes and spatial structures of the cities are described in connection with geospatial technologies and digital data for studying, analysis, modeling and simulation. Practical part is divided into for separated parts to fluently binding and creating homogenous thematic block. The first part of the thesis analyses development of Olomouc city by using functional areas derived from historical urban plans (since 1930). The development of urban processes, spatial structures of the city and impacts of urbanization and suburbanization are evaluated. Second chapter describes identification, analysis and quantification of suburbanization in Olomouc suburban space. The main result is Toolbox "Suburban Analyst" in ArcGIS software that use multi- criteria evaluation method and allows identifying and quantifying suburbanization in municipalities' level. Authors of the essay have attempted, based on ego-documents, to reveal the borderlines of the discrepancy between the expected standard of intensity and duration of the Austro-Prussian conflict and the subsequent reality. One of the 19th-century mnodernizing processes condensed in the short and intense clash in the summer of 1866 when in consequence of increased density of the traffic infrastructure and the introduction of new communication and infrastructure networks, the world seemed „smaller“ and „faster“. The essay brings an analysis of the period discrourse that the autohors understand not only as a frame within which memories and events were performed, but also as a poduct of mnemonic processes.
