Outline of the history of pietism and its reflection in spirituality of Czechoslovak Hussite Church

It descripes contemporary background of pietism, the sources from which he drew and its various forms. Observes how pietism resolved the crisis of the Church and society. It describes the basic emphases of pietism, supporting notes and warning elements. The second part deals with the time and cause of constitution of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church, practical expressions of piety of its members and its inclination to the biblical theology of personalism. The emphasis on a personal relationship with God and to another human being nurtured by studying the Scriptures in the community and a new emphasis on active and responsible reborn man who is active in the world, is the central theme of pietism and the new generation of the Czechoslovak Hussite Church.

INTRINSIC RELIGIOSITY PRACTICE Psychological aspects of intrinsic religiosity of Catholic women - mothers of small children. Key words: Intrinsic religiosity, Prayer, Spirituality of an Everyday Life, Motherhood, Catholic Faith, Identity, Narrative Analysis Secularisation of the current post-modern Europe represents a collapse of Christianity in the sense of an integrating power of the society; however, it does not mean extinction of Christianity as such. The largest European church has been responding to the changes in the post-modern society by moving the emphasis from Catholicism (institutionally - as a doctrine attitude of the church) to Catholicity (openness and universal attitude of the church). Despite this inner movement, the Roman Catholic Church is losing numbers of their members and frequently it does not satisfactorily address, among the competition in the 'religious market', agnostics or even the 'searching' ones. From another point of view, however, it is obvious that for many people it still remains a 'home' in which they develop their faith as an individual expression of existential needs. Verbal Expressions of Reverence for St. John of Nepomuk in Vilém Bitnar's Saint-John-Questionnaire

Verbal Expressions of Reverence for St. John of Nepomuk in Vilém Bitnar's Saint-John- Questionnaire The goal of this thesis is a description of verbal expressions of reverence (legends, songs, prayers etc.) for St. John of Nepomuk in the Czech lands, which were collected by Výbor svatojanský in the questionnaire edited by Vilém Bitnar. This questionnaire was sent out to Czech and Moravian parishes at the occasion of the 200th anniversary of canonization of St. John of Nepomuk in 1929 and now it is deposited in the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature in Bitnar's estate. The mutual points in the questionnaire are seeked as well as regional specifics. These are situated into context of trends in religious life in the Czech lands in 1920s in general and also of relationship between contemporary Czech society and the Roman Catholic Church with reverence for St. John of Nepomuk. Bitnar's questionnaire is also situated into context of other Bitnar's scientific and publication activities. From glory to oblivion? Changes of the site of pilgrimage Křemešník in the 20th century

The submitted work aims to clerify changes of the image of the site of pilgrimage called Křemešník in social memory during the dynamic 20th century. Author leans on her bachelor's thesis, which was focused on Křemešník in the first thirty years of the 20th century. Now she tried to describe rivalry of ecclesiastic and touristic segment in the first half of the 20th century, replaced by establishment of the communist dictatorship. The reports of the church secretaries helped to find out the attitude of ruling power to Křemešník, means of changing or deleting the memory of the site and the success rate of this effort. Attention was also paid to perception of Křemešník by ordinary people, compared with contemporary state using a questionnaire. Extant written sources were supplemented with memories of contemporary witnesses.

Kateřina Hradecká of Montfort (1556-1631)

The presented diploma thesis is dealing with the life of Katerina Hradecká of Montfort, noble foreigner, married to Adam II. of Hradec. The author is using older as well as more recent literature, written, tangible and iconographic sources to analyze, based on historical-anthropological methods, transformation of the inner world of the noblewoman. She is firstly introduced as a maid of honor in the hofstadt of archduchess Maria of Bavaria in Graz. Author also looks into her marriage to Adam II. of Hradec, investigating it within political and religious context of that period, as it was associated with the connections of the lords of Hradec to the House of Habsburg. Author also pays attention to the noblewoman as a wife, a mother, a Jesuit confidant, a widow and a strict catholic, that had a substantial influence on the social life of Hradec and its surroundings due to her religious views. Author does not omit the tangible cultural aspects connected with the activities of Katerina Hradecka of Montfort and her impact on the ecclesiastical and secular architecture in Jindřichův Hradec.

The Pious Gifts in the Czech Middle Ages

This thesis focuses on the gifts of Czech and Moravian nobility to the church during the High Middle Ages. The pious gifts (Donations) are fundamental for the understanding of medieval devotion and for some aspects of medieval society. In the Middle Ages, the last wills and testaments expressed people's wishes, attitudes and intentions with respect both to these worldly and other matters. They express attitudes to other family members, to property, to life and death, to community and social groups, to the Church, to Saints and to God. The pious donations, support for the poor and the burial near Saints open up the gates to Heaven. But the pious donations are not only a part of one's care for the soul and redemption in the Middle Ages. The donations have complicated background. These gifts expressed religious, economic, political and representative intentions of the donors. The Pious gifts are a good tool for research of this part of society. The main aim of thesis is to describe the pious gifts given by the Czech and Moravian nobility from 1200 till mid-14th century. The Thesis based on the analysis of individual donations describes the spectrum of motivation for these gifts and also to describe the function which gifts had in society.
